Hi XDA-developers
Last night I wanted to flash my HTC One with the custom Google Edt. ROM (first time having an android and first time trying to flash custom ROM and all that stuff). Everything worked fine flashing to the ROM, unlocking bootloader and all, and then wanted to install my backup I did using HTC Sync Manager. Fortunately HTC Sync Manager wouldn't recognize my phone so I could not get into the backup. I tried flashing back to stock ROM, provided by Mike1986). That kinda worked, I have the stock HTC One ROM, but when I turn it on, I constantly get messages saying android.process.acore has stopped and Talk has stopped. Earlier on it said some other android.processes has stopped worked, but it doesn't say that anymore. The point where I am blocked is whenever I turn on my phone it wants me to download "A Personalize update is available". I can't seem to minimize or get around it, and when I try to press OK nothing happens. The Fast Boot is enabled, so I don't know how to get back to HBoot since I need to disable it to use the Powerbutton + volume down method.
TL;DRj
Anyone know how to get to Hboot without disabling Fast Boot option in settings?
UPDATE
Figured it out. When stuck at the Personalize Update window, I held the home button down and another window opened with all apps showing. Went into settings and turned Fast Boot off. Now I just hope I can fix the problem.

Hi. I've been using these forums for some time now, but this is my first post. Now I need some help.
I want to load a new rom onto my rooted Sprint Hero, but for some reason I can't get into the root menu by holding end and home on startup. Also, my phone won't get recognized by htc sync when i plug it in on my computer. I was going to try and unroot it, but it needs to be recognized by sync in order for that to work. Right now, I'm running MoDaCo 2.0 with the green espresso mod.
Any suggestions or instructions would be greatly appreciated!
Thank's to everyone for making this forum a great resource for me.
I just hold home and power on the phone.
I try that, but i only get the htc logo and nothing else. i have to remove the battery in order for it to start normally again.
reflash the recovery image.
There is an application called Quickboot that lets you reboot into recovery or bootloader, as well as normally.
Might want to give it a shot...
Tried quickboot, but it just hangs and force closes.
Problem solved. I used the instructions at theunlockr . com
I was on Cyanogen 10.1.3 stable (at&t), S-off, rooted with Team Win recovery.
I flashed this rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2582066
which is the unsense with Beats (my reason for flashing)
It flashed fine, but when it loads the OS, it displays a message saying something along the lines of htc.dialer not responding, so i select ok to force close. the phone works fine for 20 seconds, then reboots. cannot open the phone number pad, though, it remains blank. if i select wait, same thing, 20 seconds and reboots.
the power button seems to not work anymore, i press it and nothing happens so i am unable to enter recovery/bootloader, it is just endlessly rebooting.
one thing i didn't do (i should have but i was lazy) was to make sure my firmware and radio was up to date, mainly because i couldn't figure out which version to use. i am on bell canada.
am i completely screwed, or is there some way to save this?
i can follow step by step instructions, and have rooted/flashed several phones throughout the years with no issue, and have flashed this HTC one about 15-20 times with no issue. however, i am not a programmer by any means.
i tried to follow this guide (i don't know if this is for my problem or now) but i couldn't find the adb usb device thing
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2503646
if anyone has any suggestion, please let me know!
thank you
EDIT: Nevermind!!! For some reason, the power button randomly started to work again, and after trying 20 times, I was finally able to load recovery and revert back to CM. Whew.
Here goes nothing. I have an HTC One m7 unlocked and rooted. Im not sure what happened but I know when it happened. I was trying to install viperone 6.2.1 and it failed and the installer suggested flasing the latest TWRP and try again. I hit ok and my phone rebooted straight to the bootloader. I tried a reboot- straight to bootloader. I tried to go into recovery- straight to bootloader. I tried factory reset- straight to bootloader. I only had access to the bootloader. I eventually found Hasoon2000s All One Tool and flashed a recovery. Made sure I had the latest TWRP and tried viperone again. It installed correctly and I rebooted. Once it loads all I get is a lock screen that I can unlock then a white screen that says htc. It will then force restart and the same thing happens again. Next I tried Paranoid Android. It loads fully but will force restart after a few minutes. I quickly looked at my phone status inbetween restarts and everything network, mobile network type, service state, imei, imei sv are all unknown. Basically no service. Next I flashed the latest CWM recovery. I installed the latest MIUI rom. It installed and during set-up it tried looking for my SIM card and force restarts. It will re-boot and go right back to searching for the SIM card. Rinse and repeat. Next I downloaded CM11 and installed that. Thankfully that does not force restart at all but my phone status is still all unknown. So I go into networks and try mobile plan and it asks for my SIM card which is installed. Then I try mobile network settings/ network operators look for available networks and I get "error while searching for networks". I forgot to mention all the Roms had to be pushed through with adb. Does anyone have a clue as to what I might have done or how I can fix it?
Try flashing a Stock RUU

Try flashing a stock RUU, everything should work fine after wards. You could try to update later on.
Try downloading this (Sprint_HTC_One_m7wls_1.29.651.10_RUU.zip) from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2586704
I take it you're S-Off so follow step 3(a)
If not 3(b) then 3(a).

Ok well I flashed a stock rom and its doing the same thing as ViperOne. It loads and I can see the the lock screen and it will bring up the power menu if I hold down the power button. I still get the white screen with htc on it as my "background" but thats all i see. And as before it goes into a reboot cycle after a minute or so.
Meh

Flashing a "stock rom" is not flashing the RUU -- RUU and then tell us what happened (unless you really meant you actually RUU'd, not merely flashed).
If that' fails, you'll have to back of and get CM 10.1 running, that almost always fixes things.
Actually just re-read that
Flashing a ROM is completely different from flashing a RUU.
Also are you getting a dialer error when you're on that htc splash screen?
Also, yay senior member on thread.

You were installing ViperOne 6.2.1? It could be that that's what screwed you over. IIRC, Viper OTAs are Delta. The latest full ROM is 6.2.0. That is, what you flashed was an update, not a ROM. But whatever.
And as tdhite said, flashing a ROM is not the same as completely bringing your phone back to stock with the RUU tool. Do that please.
Hello everyone. In my attempt to experiment with custom ROMS yesterday, I seem to have sort of soft bricked my phone. When I install the stock OS, it installs fine, and I can start the phone. However, after it boots up, there are no apps. Just the clock at the top, the background, and the menu button in the bottom center (but pressing this button doesn't do anything). I can pull down the top menu and go to settings, but I don’t have access to anything else. Furthermore, after a couple minutes, the phone restarts itself. After this first restart, when its gets done booting, there is simply an empty black screen. The only way to get to the state mentioned before is to boot into bootloader, turn the phone off, and then turn it back on.
I’m wholly lost and out of ideas on how to go about troubleshooting this. Here is what I did yesterday to get to this point:
1. Unlocked the bootloader.
2. Flashed the latest Viper rom. It didn’t work; after booting up the phone was forever stuck on the Viper splash screen.
3. Flashed the stock Sprint HTC One rom. Again, after booting up the phone was forever stuck on the HTC splash screen.
4. Used TWRP to format all the data.
5. Flashed the stock Sprint HTC One rom again. This time it worked just fine. At this point, I thought I had discovered a valid method for fixing my soft bricked phone, so I decided to experiment with Viper and Android Revolutions roms to see if I could get them to work. I followed the process of installing a custom rom, getting stuck on the splash screen, formatting the data, then reinstalling the stock rom 3 times. On all three times the stock rom worked when I installed it. However, on the 4th iteration of this cycle, I reached the state I described above.
I tried using the RUU utility, but it doesn’t work (I get a signature verification error). I can enter bootloader and recovery without issue.
I've had this happen to me, Make sure that you re-lock your bootloader before the RUU
fastboot oem lock
I believe this will allow the RUU to start up right and repair. Lemme know how that goes.

Do you mean you have had the same blank screen problam as well? Or RUU wouldn't work for you?
I'm pretty sure i relocked the bootloader when I tried doing the RUU, but I will definitely try again. Unfortunately, I'm on a trip at the moment, so I'm not sure when I'll be able to look at it again (hopefully Saturday or Tuesday).
Hello everyone,
first of all thanks for your amazing work and all the stuff you provide. I was a silent reader for a long time, but now my phone is trolling that much, I cannot fix it on my own/with the guides I found here.
I do have an HTC One M7, rooted (superuser) and S-OFF (revone) with Androidd Revolution HD 71.1. I used to update my ROM every month, but I got stuck after the last update. My recovery was TWRP as CWM did not work properly when I rooted my phone.
My issues as a list:
- cannot enter recovery anymore
- cannot connect via USB (tried every port)
- screen turning randomly black on homescreen and sometimes in apps (but they usually work), screen does work, but i cannot see a thing
- since today graphical issues after a reboot (flickering screen, parts of the screen get duplicated)
Since the last update I cannot enter recovery anymore. Getting in bootloader is no problem but i get stuck in the "entering recovery...." screen. It does not move, tested it for some hours. I tried updating the recovery (-), trying to flash stock recovery and reflashing custom (-), trying cwm (-).
After I tried cwm i noticed that it didnt overwrite the recovery but i got both. cwm and twrp, but i cannot delete one of them (didn' work before either). I can start TWRP oder CWM on a booted phone, but updating both bugs and I can't enter recovery with these tools too.
Today I wanted to try again on my own, but my phone won't connect on USB. Tried every port on my computer with and without USB-Debugging. I will try on a other computer, but I could not do this until now. Additionaly I want to wait for some ideas of fixing, as I think "my" trys are not going to work suddenly .
Screen started to turn black a few days ago. Dont know why but I think it could be a software issue. but i cannot update (see above ). When i try to turn my screen on it often just turns instantly black. soft keys are enlightend and it does work (more or less). if i success in sliding down the service bar on the top, i can start my alarm clock app and from there use the soft keys to get in other started apps. From there it works most of the time. Sometimes i need a couple of trys, sometimes it just works as its intended without turning black and sometimes i need several minutes to succeed.
Cannot say more as I did to the graphical issues. Just had them once until I started an app (screen worked). could not reproduce this error.
I would prefer a solution without wiping, but if necessary i will ofc.
Thanks in advance for your help, as I am rather helpless right now.
I attached a photo of the bootloader.
Yours Laexxi
