Hello all,
I'm looking for a rom (no matter custom of official) which provides best battery performance.
Any opinions?
the official JM1 is so far the best for me not only for battery life but lag and GPS too.
hope this helps

did you try jm7?
JM1 also seems to be working great for me. I've tried several roms and JM1's battery life seems to be spot on. Usually lasts me all day under heavy use. Wi-Fi/3G browsing, games etc.
Hi everyone. I am trying to choose one of the new roms based on oficial xxlsz rom.
But for someone that just did it, the battery perfomance is better than in xxlsc? (i have this
right now) and i think that is the most important thing to do with JB in note.
Thanks in advance
in my opinion, lsc drain more battery power than lsz. i noticed after i change my rom from ultimate n7000 lsc into newest ultimate n7000 lsz.
i'm using my note from morning around 6am (100%) and when i had my lunch at 12pm, it still have 66% - 70% which more better than lsc, it will drop until 55%.
but it just my opinion.
The ROM I use is really good in all terms, For instance the battery drain is ~1% / H in idle state ( and comparatively much lesser with heavy use as well though it depends on individual's definition of "heavy use " . I suggest to wait 2-3 days with 2 manual full reboobs/day before doing an assessment.(Like note does wants to protect it's draining habit, but gives up finally to The SUper ROM)
I had Ultimate > Stock > Slim versions before this one , and this is going to stay I guess....(check my note signature for links).
My battery is over 6 months old and really does need replacing, as its life has really deteriorated since new, However after using Ultimate LSZ for about 2 days now, Im getting about 18-20hrs from my battery (with high usage)
ive used Ultimate ROMs for quite some time now, the last was LSC which I was on for several weeks and I did not manage to get close to 18hrs usage, So LSZ is definitely a big improvement.
Thanks for te replay
Ok, then i will try the new xxlsz. You mention Ultimate rom serveral times, is the rom for joosh3?
It´s maybe one of the best roms? what you recommend. I really searching a perfomance rom, not one so much pretty but fast
and battery friendly..
Thanks again!!
Try Sweet Rom !! Trust me ... You won't regret it

Ok, you say it first jeje, i give it a try to Sweet.
Other Question, coming from xxlsc can i backup apps + data with go backup and then recover app + data without problems? Or i must
install all over without data? because it´s a wonderfull job!!, jeje.
Thanks!

tilal's 4.4 OMNI rom seems to have the best battery in my opinion .... i wasnt going to go back to OMNI until it had more of its features but to be honest its fast smooth stable and battery lasts A LOT longer than any other rom i have been on
Stock ROM is best for battery.
Stock ROM debloated and then left alone
Keep in mind the display is the biggest consumer, then connectivity options, then only software. There its mostly Widgets and other things which need to constant update.
In my opinion,Hybrid rom(stock kernel) is the best rom i ever used..it provides good battery life too..

As surprising as this may sound the above is true. I seem to have equal battery life with Stock rom and Omni (except when 3G is enabled). 4.4 is so damn light. Keep in mind I am not a person who debloats. Have all sorts of apps syncing and background services running.
Could anyone outline the merits of Kitkat roms when compared to jelly beans? How is multitasking with Kitkat?

Kitkat roms are mostly based on cm and aosp, so they, apart from being faster due to improvements and support for art runtime, also have a slew of features such as pattern lockscreen upto 6 x 6, album art on lockscreen, and many more..

there are many merits like others said but negative side effect is the poor battery backup no matter what rom you use , what settings or whats your usage pattern, you will surely experience faster battery drain
apart from only this everything is superior, faster and functional than earlier versions

You have to give away the juice for performance. That's okay. But what about multitasking on KK? Is it fast? Is it lagfree?

I don't experience any faster battery drain than on 4.1.2 official TW rom and on newer custom JB roms. Only on TW based HarshJelly i've got slightly better battery life.

Well I've actually always experienced a very good battery backup with KK comparing to the old 4.1.2 stock I had, which was also very laggy.. Of course with some roms (I'm seeing it on PAC man) you will get lower battery life according to the optimization/weight of the system itself.

its a known and accepted fact that kitkat conumes more battery then jb roms atleast on our device no point of arguement, but yes there maybe slight variation from rom to rom as i am using beanstalk its ginving me better battery backup then other kk roms which i have earlier used
Last android version of android not mean the best.I always was changing roms. But why?Just pickup a rom which meet your needs.Even its a AOSP,you can customize it with xposed. For me, MIUI meets my needs,of course i want cpu and gpu oc on kernel for MIUI...About battery, every phone will get different results with every rom. Why? Because :
-like any battery,it become fat and this problem cant be solved by just changing rom / calibrating battery
-everyone use phone different = different tasks = different results
This is my opinion.

I must say that my old 4.1.2 (ITV), the one before the december update, was very laggy/buggy and had a higher battery usage. That's a particular case of course, but it happened

Stock UBLPK firmware has much improved in battery performance.

My own experienced with Carbon 4.4.3 :
Everything is smooth, performance is better than stock 4.1.2 . battery drain fast, but i always have spare battery with desktop charger so for me it's no issue..
Also i OC my GPU lil bit with novathor tweak (built in from roms) . so gaming performance significantly increase too..
For multitasking, i prefer tweaking OOM by myself to suit my needs..
Personally i'm happy with this config...
Carbon kitkat 4.4.4 by Flo008 gives awesome battery life and performance.

@Nishad1982 Yeah good for a bit of multitasking. But I don't understand why people worrying about multitasking in a mobile device. What they want? opening 15+ apps in the same time? I never had a need to open more than 4 or 5 apps at a time. But you really want to do heavy multitasking, then you can tweak the minfree memory values to suit your need. (lowering the minfree settings for all categories by one or two simple steps)
But always remember, we only have a device with 620+ user available ram. Good luck for your Carbon Rom experience. (BTW, a new build is released today)

A bit of multitasking that all I need. I do not want my Dialer lag when I need to make an urgent call while doing other things like browsing.
And 620 MB is a huge RAM for a phone.
My galaxy s3 mini lags a lot. So I flashed TWRP yesterday.
Can anybody give me a good recommendation?

Only problem with Stock Roms (Virginity v14, Project Noble, Ronin) is that they all have this unpredictable Snapchat bug. Quite often Snapchat (both pictures and videos) zoom in like 50% which makes the text often not visible. This is the main reason I stopped using these ROM's.
Virginity V14 also drops 10-30% battery overnight when device is turned off.
My answer to the best s3 mini ROM (i8190) is the following: (not in any particular order)
Omni 5.1.1 (20160125)
Snapchat video's are green. But I don't use this often, so no problem to me.
Resurrection Remix 6.0 (20170305)
Both have great battery life, great performance and offer great features since its LP and MM. Don't assume these ROM's are worse than STOCK because they are 5.1 and 6.0, these are part of THE BEST ROM'S I've come across since years.

Earlier Omni 5.1.1 releases have insane battery consumption in my opinion. Right now I'm using Omni 4.4.4 (20151230) and it's the best one I ever used. Great battery life & awesome performance.
Also I've installed FB Lite and Messenger Lite instead of the traditional ones. These apps BARELY use any RAM. It's like 5-10 MB when it's running, compared to 80mb with most recent Messenger. Big recommendation!

first of all thank you for your recommendation, and yeah I have used omni 4.4.4 (omni gamer version) for a while. It was perfect kitkat rom that I have ever used but I want to use lollipop from now on. Isn't there any lollipop rom which have stabilility and long life battery?

Any ROM with a newer Android version than KitKat is basically getting too heavy for this old device, though it's nice to have
To answer your question, I'd recommend Resurrection Remix 6.0 (20170305) over Omni LP. I haven't used that ROM with FB and Messenger Lite, but I have no doubt it will be even better!

You are right and I really thank you for your advice. I am using omni 5.1.1 now, it is the most stable lollipop rom that I have ever seen but its battery performance is bad. Therefore I will try rr 6.0. But as I know rr is not smooth on our device because of customization. Is this version smooth?

Very!
I always thought of RR the same until I started using it. Ofcourse you shouldn't tweak every option you can find. The only thing I change on every ROM is the battery icon...
The phone lagged very rarely as i remember, but that's probably because there were 5 apps running in the background. Clearing your recents every now and then is probably the best way to keep your phone running smoothly.

then, my the last question is about battery life  how its battery life? for example I experience a terrible battery consumption in omni 5.1.1. I charged to phone %100 and then I sleep for 7-8 hours. When I wake up I saw it consumed almost %30-%35 of battery. Sometimes it consumes more. Do you have any idea about its battery life?

It's awesome man
For shear performance i'd have to put forward Omni LP with Fkernel with OC and Nova Thor settings. Unfortunately Fkernel takes some configuring (init.d script) to get Nova thor settings to work. I believe Nova Thor settings was removed from latest version. I never quite got the stability with this setup. As for Omni LP and battery issues you must boot in twp and with battery at 100% delete the batterystats.bin. This made all the difference.

Somehow I have always had that issue with all the Nougat 7.1.2 (LineageOS 14.1) that I have tried, even with phone completely turned off it drained so fast!!! For me battery life was OK with Marshmallow 6.0.1 so I keep going back to that one. For my not so fancy needs and stability, I prefer either Resurrection Remix 20170531 or LineageOS 13.0 20170328 stable for now. Also current/latest Nougat 7.1.2 RR 20171220 and LineageOS 20171215 seem to have issues (like not booting) so you'd have to wait for newer versions of those if you want to try. I use a black background and set timeout of screen to 30 sec. instead of 1 min. default.
Fastest ROM 5.1 por superior now?
I am new in trying to figure out which ROM to instal. I have a SIII model GT-I8190 with build number JZO54K.I8190XXANI4.
