Message Widgets ? - Sprint HTC One (M7)

Curious as to why HTC discontinued the stock message widgets. Wondering if anyone might be interested in porting one over to sense 5. I know i cant be the only one who used them.

liquid metal rom for the nexus?

I've seen a bunch of other phones already have ports of the liquid metal ROM, and i was very surprised to see that we dont have anything in our nexus section.
I'm hoping maybe if we get a strong response in this thread maybe someone will start working on a port for us.
Maybe start by telling us what liquid metal ROM is and what features it has that makes it special?
It appears to be a custom ROM for the Acer Liquid... why people would want it on a Nexus I have no idea

The guy obviously didnt want a slow HTC model, and thats fair enough.. Should be possible to port the ui, it is, basicly just an overlay.. But some of the coding needs to be done.. But, i played a little with some of the launchers from the market, and there are some, quite close clones to the Sense UI - Adw Launcher has a Sense theme.. I also had Beautiful Widgets once, and there you can get the sense clock. If what u are in fact looking for is the facebook sync etc.. Then you are a little f.... because its only available for HTC Sense...

LauncherPro Plus.
there is a theme for adw launcher which allows you to have a sense ui lookalike allthough the thing was russian and when i popped into menu settings alot of russian jibberish appeared so i uninstalled mine again and just went with plain launcher pro but hey if ur russian is better than mine you can have a blast with it i guess
more infoz here:

i did not want to wait any longer, my htc hd2 was dead, i neaded a phone right away, and dualcore,
thats wy i bougd the lg xd2.
i only wanted the htc sense baked in a rom, not using any launcer programs,
You mean you would rather waste a bunch of memory on Sense, which you can't have, instead of running a much lighter and IMHO much better launcher like LauncherPro or ADW? Much to learn you have, young padawan.
And the sense ui is hardcoded in to the kernel and other parts of the system, so it is not as easy as with some other launchers just to pull and use on other systems...
There was a try to make a sense rom for the galaxy s but it got scrapped in the end as it was a HTC rom they did try to mod for the Galaxy s and there was some overheating problems stuff that don't work etc etc...
So the best is to get something like launcher pro plus, use the custom dock background option and there sense look alike widgets and Beautiful Widgets with a sense look alike clock..
Saves ram and you don't risk breaking the hardware because it is a bad rom build.

I created the think tank which led to that port.. I think its possible to port the Sense ROM to any phone that has enough juice to run it, and a good porting expert to port it.
I think when the G2X is released into the USA mainstream this dev section will explode with quality developers all eager to make there name, so im sure it will happen... It is quite simple to port, but making everything else work will be the hardest thing...
When i get my G2X sent from the USA i will start another think tank, we will get this beast on our snappy new phones
And as for the people that say "if you want sense, buy a HTC". well that goes against everything we try to do here at XDA.. Its all about choice and pushing the boundaries, and if the masses want a port, never try and dissuade them, encourage it, and help if you can.. You may not want it, but negativity is discouraged here.
I for one would love to see the new sensation ROM (Sense 3.0) ported to the 2x phones, and im 99.9 percent sure it will be attempted.

LP Sense UI (Launcher)
A mod to Launcher pro that gives your LG the sense look, with sense scrollable widgets
Working quite nicely on my LG
Add "Fancy Widget" from the market
Update: Seems it has now been removed from "Market" and download links from the lpsense site - apparently on request from Launcher pro devs.

Same boat as you right nw, got a dead hd2, need a phone now and am thinking about the LG Optimus 2x because I think it's pretty future proof. Wud go for a SGS2 or HTC Sensation, but I think they'll be far too expensive.

if you look in my sense theme thread i have a lot of the clock apks as flashable zips
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=994561
when i revisit the theme ill add some more of them as well
also lp sense ui in the regular android app/game section imitates sense widgets about as good as can be done
Thanks, those are nice...Im running the community rom and just want some eye candy, I get bored fast. I just dl them and will try them out later...good work!
Just to let you know, the Sense Widgets on the Thunderbolt is tied to the Sense framework, so unless the rom is ported, you can't get the Widgets seperately

What would be sick is the notification panel. when pulled down, the top shows the most recently used apps. If I knew more on how to port/develop, I would do it, but I digress...

that is actually a feature that is so unpopular on sense roms that its either 1) stripped out of the roms 2) replaced with power controls
Right on. But I'm sure there are some people that would like it. I imagine it's a waste considering the native android multitasking management....plus, it's probably Huuuuuugggeee memory hog

yeah im sure some people would like it..but not worth the effort prolly imo given that its redundant with holding down the home key showing latest used apps
Exactly. Along with the long press of the home button, is there or had there been any way to get the most recently used 8 apps as opposed to the last 6? This had probably already been addressed our isn't a point of concern, so I apologize for thee possible redundancy.

Clutch from the market is a good way to be able to recall recently used aps and it makes a nice transparent widget on the home screen.

Sense 4+ ?

Let me start off by saying I seriously love this phone but seriously hate what HTC did to the Sense UI. Has anyone considered trying to port Sense 4+ to our phones from the Droid DNA?
It would be the best possibility of a port if one were to exist at all.
Just food for thought. I think it would be really cool to have all those widgets back and the DNA has similar hardware and the same screen resolution.
I think no...
He have sense 5, and for me, is better then sense 4+.
Yes, we lost some widget, is right, but all essential widget are here.
But a port can be possible...
