You have to start windows in "Safe mode" (Or something akin to that) in order to install the drivers.

The Nexus One USB Issue..

After hours of headache I am still unable to test my app on the nexus one device... mainly because my 64 bit Vista cannot find a device driver for the usb.
1. I have gone tried the developer.android instruction, which ofcourse does not work.
2.I have also gone tried the idea posted in a thread in this forum <mods wont allow me to post link> without success mainly because the cmd says "boot configuration data store cannot be opened. access is denied."
3. I went over Install and run USBDeview<mods wont allow me to post link> , but it wont work either, USBDView cannot uninstall in step 5 of the blog.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Please if someone has installed the USB Driver for nexus one in a Windows Vista x64 help me out.. i have so many apps on the emulator which I want to try on the new device !!
Is their any other way I can port my app from the emulator and try it on the device? Thanks in advance
Please do not post non-dev related threads in the dev section... yeah, i think u thot this was a dev question since u are talking abt porting an app, but the question is really not dev related... this shud go in Q&A... mods please move!!
In any case, I've installed the N1 driver in Windows 7 x64 without any problem, and since the driver is the same for Vista & 7 x64, I don't think it shud be a problem...
I simply downloaded the drivers via the SDK setup... plugged in the phone and manually installed the driver via device manager... worked like a charm!!
+1 for the section and also for it working on Win 7 pro x64 for me.
+1 on posting in the proper section. I also have it working on win 7 x64.
As a side note, people who think the word 'should' is spelled 'shud' should not be correcting people.

Here you go - USB Driver that worked fine with Vista 64 bit - found on this very site. Install the driver and just enable USB debugging.

lg p990 adb drivers help

Hello all,
I'm trying to install the adb drivers for the optimus 2x that i found in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1752074
The problem i have is that when i try to override the previous driver through device manager-update driver software i cannot manually select the driver file, just shows folders and even trying that says that the latest drivers are installed.
Does anyone know what might be the issue?
Anyone know any other way around?
Thank you:good:

Change Windows!:good:
uninstall adb drivers, connect your phone to pc, you'll get message about installing new device. Click on it and new window will open then click "cancel installing software from windows update" or so, I don't have english system so I don't know exactly how it says. Then manually selecting the driver will work

Hi, bro.. maybe you can try out these.. I dont have windows myself.. but these are HTC Drivers 4.x.x.x. The link is here.
Fastboot and adb are just programs that need these drivers installed..
PS: If they work for you. Please share them in your device's forum. Cheers man !

Encountered error applying transforms
I actually got the drivers to work, but it was such a pain in the ass to do so and i forgot the steps i took.
From what i remember you need to go to safe-boot to turn off uncertified driver protection and then proceed to do advanced complex quantum physics actions in order to get it to work.
You should try googling "ADB drivers for windows 8", that was my procedure on doing it even though I have like 5 folders of drivers.

which sdk did you download and install? The adt bundle or just the sdk? The reason I'm asking if you install the sdk in a directory then change the path by moving it from the downloads folder it wont work.
my path is
C:/Downloads/adt-bundle-windows-x86_64/adt-bundle-windows-x86_64/sdk/platform-tools
also if you installed the sdk without administrator privledges it could cause adb not to work.
uninstall the sdk and right click on the setup file and select "run as administrator"
and see if that works
I'll give it a try, thanks
EDIT: Latest adt-Bundle

good news is your adb on computer is set up correctly.
bad news is either the rom or your phone is not seeing the usb cable connected.
Try a different rom and see if you have the same result.
Also if you have twrp for a recovery try to see if you can sideload a rom.
Damn it!
now i have to flash 8.0 from TrickDroid...
Hope 8.0 brings this feature!
Maybe this can help...

that's a step in the right direction. Now try adb devices and make sure usb debugging is on
also installing htc sync should take care of the rest of those drivers. But you should be able to connect to adb now.

Depends what OS do you have in pc. If you are using windows xp, the connection between phone and pc isn't even ok.
You can try to install samsung drivers ( just google: ''SAMSUNG USB DRIVERS FOR MOBILE PHONES'' , and get the lastest version)
Then depends what android version do you have.
If you are running the stock gingerbread, the connection type is Mass Storage
If you are not running gb, your phone will connect by defaut, as MTP Device. This doesn't require special drivers, so is working also with xp.

You can get the drivers from HERE, only download the drivers nothing else, because this guide is for GT-S5570I, but drivers are for all Samsung mobile phones.
