Hey XOOMERS!
I was wondering whether we could run Real Racing 3 on XOOM?
When i tried going onto the app page trough playstore it says its not compatible with our device, i was wondering if there are any guys who made this possible.
EDIT : It's running buttery smooth on my XOOM running EOS 4.0 Jellybean Build 167.
i just downloaded the apk from the link posted By Blackwolf10 then i downloaded the remaining game data through wifi.
THANKS ALL!

Thanks! I'll report back soon
Yep, works fine on the Xoom... I used BlueStacks on my PC to download the official APK from Google Play and then copied it to the Xoom for sideloading....
If memory serves, v1.1.2 requires a graphics hack to get it working.
Effectively, there are a set of 4 Android files in a directory called XtraHigh, High, Med & Low.... One is loaded by default when the game starts...
I *think* v 1.1.2 loaded the Med file which Xoom cannot cope with. So I copied the Low file as Med and its fine....
I *think* V1.2 which is the current Google Play version loaded fine but not 100% certain as I soon downgraded to v1.1.2 as v1.2 has made the game a lot worse...
Google the RR3 forums to read all about it

Hi,
I have seen that some people have posted the latest version of the Android Market (2.2.6) as an apk file.
My questions are:
- If it will this work on DHD and correctly overwrite the old Market app and the market update utility ?
- Is installing the app this way legal ?
So anyway I did install it and it works fine.
A much needed upgrade.
I believe you can use this new market .apk file without problems, but I've read that a new official update is cooming soon, so if you doubtful if it's illegal, just wait.
It is working well here. If anyone wants it
Taken from here
Go to Settings>Applications>Mange Applications>Market>Clear Data... then install.
For some reasson I can't update it =(...
Wiped old market installed fine

Am I going to have to purchase my apps again, that I have uninstalled, if I remove the market data?
Edit: NVW, i dont have to purchase them again, AWESOME find! +1

the new market takes quite a long time to load up. anyone else experience the delay in application start-up ?
It looks sooo goooooood

Uhhh for me it seems to be the other way around :S! The new one loads almost instantly, the old one took a few more seconds.
cud my longer start-up time be related to the fact that i downloaded the apk file from here and installed the update manually ?
Thanks for the post.
Runs perfectly on my DHD. Better than the old version actually. A very welcome market update.

Could not install on CM 6.1 RC2... any ideas??
Works fine on my DHD with stock rom in Norway. Forgot to wipe data, but it didn't matter.
Will try on Galaxy Tab soon.
Not tested the shorter window for refund yet.

I wiped data after i downloaded and installed the New Market apk File. I still am facing the issue of waiting for the market to launch . Takes Abt 5s and is irritating. Is this normal ?

Is the new Market here in this thread for rooted phones?
Downloaded and installed fine on the G-tabrunning vegan-tab 5.1, but then popups keep saying it doesn't support this device every time I actually try to play something. Crap, the hardware should easily be able to run streaming hd video. Hope one of the XDA developers can fix this...

It runs and streams content just fine on my stock Incredible running 2.2. And I have the app running on my gTab which is on Vegan 5.1.1, I just can't stream anything. I think its just a matter of Netflix only allowing a certain devices to access their servers and our tablet is not on the list (which is only 5 devices long at the moment).
Sorry for the double post, but I found this fix quoted from Android Police in the Incredible section:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=13738814&postcount=44
I don't know if it will work on our tablets but it changes the build.prop file to make the device report itself as a HTC G2.
No love with modified prop

No problem. I literally just a few minutes ago got the market working properly on my tablet by modifying the build.prop and I really don't want to mess with that file anymore unless I have to. I want to keep my market working.
But thanks for trying that. I figured it was worth a shot. Someone hopefully will eventually find a work around.
Working great on the Droid x! No luck on the gtab. Running overclocked,on 2.2.

Fortunately, my Nexus One is supported. Works fantastic on that. A buddy has the newest MyTouch, won't let him even install it to that. However, both of our Vegan 5.1.1 Gtabs let us install, no go on playing, gives the popup.
Of course, it works on my 3.7" display device, but not on my 10" display... BOO!
Netflix running on my G Tablet
My G-Tablet is running CM 7.0.3 with Pershoot's 2.6.32.39 CM7 Kernel
I sideloaded the Netflix App then moved it to the SD card.
I am running the 10.3 update of Adobe Flash Player (not sure if this is relevant)
I modified 2 lines in my /system/build.prop file as follows
ro.product.model=HTC Vision
ro.product.manufacturer=HTC
REBOOT
Netflix is running smoothly on my G Tablet now.
This is a combination of fixes found in other device forums here on XDA.
I hope this helps!

I tried this on mine. Running Vegan-tab GE with standard kernel. Dumps me back to the queue. I wonder if there's something else I need to change in build.prop?
+1 on editing the build.prop... i can confirm it works... From what i'm reading around on other forums this is only working on gingerbread roms, if at all.. so if your still on a froyo base rom you may not wanna chance screwing up the tablet...
As far as editing it i used File Expert.. turned on the root functions in the app settings... then found the system folder checked it's box hit Menu->More->mount... changed the permissions to read and write... u may have to mount the file the same way too... copied it to the SD card for editing.. changed the required fields.. go back to system folder rename the original build.prop to build.prop.bak so u'll have a backup in case something goes hinky... then copied the edited back into the system folder... reboot...enjoy...
Haven't noticed any adverse effects yet market is good thus far...tegra dedicated apps show up still so I'll take that as a good sign

Another confirmation of working on CM7.0x (I'm still on 7.02).
Installed the app last night, it just allowed me to view the queue after logging in, also saying "This device is not compatible"
I edited the build.prop as described and ran the app and it now streams. SWEET

Can one of you with a working fix copy and post your build.prop? I want to compare the CM7 build.prop to the vegan-tab and see what's different.

Hmm not working for me.
Running CM7 nightly from 0508 (64 maybe? Not sure)
I sideloaded Netflix
Changed my build.prop as listed above and rebooted.
Loaded up Netflix and didn't get any 'device not supported errors'
I tried to play a video and the screen turns black but the video never plays. If I try to seek to somewhere else in the video netflix will shoot me back to where I was before I started the video.

Second this. I'm so close in Vegan Ginger. Sometimes it'll even play some audio before dumping me back to the queue. Ahhhhhhh!
It's officially out today!
HOWEVER... it's still listed as not available for my Xoom LTE. Not sure if they forgot to check the box for this model. If someone can get the new tablet friendly APK out there, I'd be obliged. I've already submitted a message to Hulu support.
i was able to install it on my xoom.

i have no clue how to do that.
It's good to know how to do it, programs like ASTRO File Manager or App Backup & Restore can backup the apps installed on your phone or tablet as APK files, which can be installed on any device. It doesn't back up app data (You need root and Titanium Backup for that), but it's great if you want to save old versions of apps in case someone releases a bad update, or if you want to copy them to a device that doesn't have the Android Market or something like that.
Then you stick 'em on some sort of site that lets people download 'em.
Installed fine, however getting DRM not supported error...
I'm running EOS ICS on my CDMA Verizon Xoom, and no dice. I installed it on my Transformer, no problem. Used Astro to backup the apk; however, it says its private and won't allow me to. I've tried to install from the device and the web based play store. No go.
I don't think it's compatible with ICS yet, because my Galaxy Nexus is also non-supported; however, I have ICS on my Nexus S and it installed just fine, so...idk
Runs on my xoom just fine.

Im using market update version -
As of last night, my Xoom LTE could install the app off the Play Store. I could also start a video, but the connection wasn't great it seemed, and I got a network error after like fifteen seconds.
It seems like the only people who have gotten the official app to work on their Xoom, are people with the 4G LTE Xoom. Although, it does not say it will only work on 4G LTE in the Google Play app store, there seems to be a pattern. I wonder if a build.prop edit could fix the issue?

basically create the obb folder and move the 3 files there then install the modified apk, not the one in obb. if your on a rom that cant sideload certain apks (liquidsmooth) you can just move the modified apk to /data/app/.
Also working on mine, I got from play store but had to change dpi to 300 to get past tablet block. Runs fine and I like low dpi anyway
Thanks! Working like a charm
