Hi all,
Today I've tried to use Skype video calling and it works perfectly regarding video, but my audio is incredibly quiet and going trough top speaker only, same as when I do regular phone call. So if I want to see someone during talk, I barely hear him. If I plug earphones, it is fantastic.
so, is there anyway to enable both speakers during Skype video call?
I'm running stock HTC One with all latest updates. Skype is also updated.
Thnx 4 help.

I'm having the same issue, not sure if it's a bug in the Skype but I always felt the app is has lots of bugs.
Any news about this? When can we expect speakerphone option?

I own the lg tone+ bluetooth ( which is amazing, I always wear it) but when I watch videos on my htc one theres a delay on audio. itreally bugs me when I watch youtube... I don't think its my lg tone because it worked prefect on my lg.optimus anyone know if it's fixable through settings on the phone
This happens to me as well. It's like you miss the first 2 seconds or so. Thought I was just over thinking it or something.

I haven't tried it on my HTC One, but I thought all a2dp was delayed?
I noticed it also on my Bluetooth sync in my car when I watch videos ..I thought it was normal lol guess not

ive had these phones over a year and the audio is a bit delayed. i use these on my moto xoom tab and when i watch youtube vids there is a slight audio lag compared to the video on screen.
not the fault of the htc one in my opinion since this occurs on another product (moto xoom).
I notice this in my car, the timestamp on my dashboard display is off from what I see in my phone, and the audio is a second or two off, not a big deal, but I definitely thought it was just me haha.
I have the same issue when connected to BT in my car. I stopped using it because the delay makes me crazy. I have yet to try a BT earpiece though. For now I am just giving up on any BT Connectivity...
Hello, I installed Omar Avelar's ROM, since I did this I can't hear music from other earphones rather than Motorola's stock ones. Any idea how to fix this?

I have a slightly different issue. I'm also using Omar's ROM. My headphones normally work fine but if I receive a call whilst the headphones are plugged in and unplug the headphones to take the call, when I plug the headphones back in the volume is very quiet in the right hand earpiece. The left hand one is normal. I use poweramp for music playback btw.
The problem just fixes itself eventually. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks

To fix my issue I had to install SoundAbout

I'm having this issue where the volume drops during song changes, or during quiet parts in a video. I'm fairly certain this is a known problem, but just wondering if anyone has found a fix.
I've tried different music players, different video players, different headphones, even a headphone amp and the problem persists. currently running P.A.C v3.0 but the problem was present also on TrickDroid v7.5

I think this happens in all phones, ipods, iphones and music players as what outputs high volume comes from audio file from the song or movie. There are programs in the internet the makes the audio files louder in a song or a movie. The problem is not the phone or roms. As any phone, it can't output high volume if the volume level in the audio file in a song isn't put to high levels of volume.
I agree with the op. I've got both the HTC One and the N4. The problem he's describing is present in the one but not the N4, same exact audio sources.

Maybe but I have experienced the same thing on all devices I have used for music. I think it depends on the songs but I might be wrong.
I can also confirm that this issue has been persistent on my One. Something that had never happened to my One XL, Nexus nor Desire. Not liking this at all!

I've never had it happen on anything except my One. On the stock ROM, it's fine, but any AOSP ROM (and I've flashed a lot of them) gives me this issue anytime I use headphones.
I can confirm this as well. Stock ROM seems OK but AOSP and cm based ROM have this problem
Bump!

I think HTC made the phone to lower the volume when the volume is way too high so you won't go deaf. An annoying "feature" that HTC has implemented in the phone.
Just an update on this. the CM nightly for today (6/20) contains a bunch of audio merges which hopefully will fix the audio fading issue. I'll report back when its available for download and I flash it

Just tried out the 6/21 nightly, and the audio fading issue is unfortunately still there.

Help audio volume drops
I am currently using the Avatar rom and have been experiencing the exact same problem. The volume will go down in music, audio books, and even on the phone. The problem is not consistent and has been driving me crazy ever since I installed this rom. I love the ROM and can't picture living without it. I can't figure out what exactly it is causing the issue, but if anybody has found a solution, I would love to hear it. Thanks in advance.
Has anyone tried flashing beats back onto their phone to see if that does anything?
Update- installed beats audio. It unfortunately didn't fix the problem.

Try updating your firmware to 2.24 and turn off Beats. This solved it. Although now I use higher volume to match what I had before with Beats turned on, the sound quality and bass is nearly equal or even better.

OK, so I'm pretty new to this whole thing. What would the steps be to upgrade my firmware to 2.24?
Is there an app out there that will let me do this? Mono sound. My top speaker is getting pretty bad it cracks at half volume.
I have viper4android and have it set to -24db... Which makes everything too quite.

I don't have any issue with the top speaker, however, the issue can be sorted by the flash of viper4android.
Have you tried without the mod?

My speaker is blown. It's not a software problem, which is why I'm asking to disable it completely/lower than the other.

How will you make phone calls if you disable it?

Try recording something with absolutely no background noise of you talking breathing is fine you will hear a slight hiss during recording silence this is with the stock camera app and 100% fully stock google Image 4.4.2 Flashed No root no kernel all stock
Also there seems to be issue on the mic when in a voice call when there is silence also hissing noise and or when in a crowded environment it sounds muffled.
There are around 3 threads like this on the Q and A section. All NEXUS 5's have this issue STOP Hiding and bring awareness to Google and or LG
A quick search reveals many people having this issue. Search on Google for Nexus 5 mic issue
In fact it even affects the Nexus 4! and how old is the Nexus 4 now? its been doing that since 4.3!
I love it when people generalize with words like "all" and "everyone". Got mine new last week at Tmobile store. Voice calls are fine with no hissing. Recorded video and audio sounds fine. If there are three threads then why create another one. Read the rules!!, also if you want lg's attention go post in their support thread. No one but deaf ears will hear you here. If you are that unhappy return it.

I thought the video issue affected all units. So in quiet environments there is no static in your video recording?

If its a known issue it doesn't mean it can necessarily affect them all. Or maybe I'm not using the device the same way as you are where I can reproduce it .

If you don't like it, buy a new phone. On a side note, have you tried downloading a seperate recording app? As far as the call goes, I haven't had an issue with that, so its not ALL. Instead, you could of used: majority, almost all, a high percentage, a noticeable amount.

What DroneDoom is trying to say is: Read the OP. Then and only then should you reply.
Switched my phone to an iphone till resolved. This is my third RMA device with issue 2 from gplay and 1 from LG

I still get the giggles reading your "The radio is great on the nexus 5" post.
I find that the level of hissing differs between devices. Some devices have it really bad where it sounds like someone is constantly blowing air into the mic, where as as on others you can barely hear any noise.
