Hi,
When I start Google goggles the screen gets stuck on the first frame the camera sees. This is without me taking a picture or anything, it sticks to the first frame when the camera starts. The rest of the app works fine, I can close it, open settings, ... it doesn't completely freeze. When I open the settings window and close it again, the screen sticks to the first frame after closing the settings window.
All my other camera apps works fine, it's only related to google goggles. I didn't have this problem with the CM 10.1 20130707 build. I tried to reinstall the app, reboot my phone,... I searched for similar problems but didn't find anything helpful.
So does anyone has the same problem ? Is it a bug in goggles or a CM 10.1 bug ?

I have noticed that the Gallery app slurps most of my battery, about 30-40%, sometimes more than the screen. Googling it i found out that there are several devices having this problem, they traced it to the gallery keeping up services in the background that are not actually needed. For some devices, there have been Gallery mods that address this problem. So here's my questions:
1. Are you having the same issue?
2. Anyone thinking about making a mod of our own?
(As soon as I get home I will try those other mods on my O2X, maybe they will do).
Using CM7 latest kang (31+).
Install quickpic, that way you don't have to use the gallery anymore.

I have installed 27th April CM9 Nightly build on my SGT P1000 and somehow, the camera is working perfectly fine. I am unable to find settings for the camera, but it's working perfect. The gallery is showing all the images that I have captured.
The reason of writing this post is that all other posts claim that the camera is not yet working for ICS port on SGT-P1000. I first installed Overcome 4.1.0 with the kernel, and then flashed the CM9.
The question is, how is it working, and is it normal to work?
If it is normal to work, can someone point me in the direction where i can follow the updates?

I used this get.cm link for downloading the CWM flashable CM9 nightly build ROM. Just want all to know that EVERYTHING seems to be perfect. I flashed the ROM yesterday, and till now, everything works.

Just want to know if anyone else has flashed this, and if anyone else has cam working.
I remember someone came up with a fix for the camera in the form of a flashable zip a while back so I imagine it's been included in the latest CM9 builds.
Well, I am still waiting for people to comment on it. I haven't found any comments. Is there a thread following the nightly CM9 build for p1000?

Thanks Priyana, just a little problem, i posted in a new question thread aswell.
Unfortunately, camera closed. This error I am getting frequently. Not always, but frequently. I have no idea what is causing the app to run sometimes, but close at other times.
I am on aokp milestone 5.
I also have camera fc from time to time.

Little manual fix i have. Put the cam to 2.5 MP and when your'e clicking a pic, dont press and hold the blue button. Just push and let go. The pic will snap, and the frequency of cam gone FC will reduce by 90%. I think there is a problem with the autofocus which causes the cam to go bonkers. Do try it and share...

I have a strange bug occuring since trying out the latest ICS.8.3 after a full wipe.
This video demonstrates the issue.
When scrolling in Gmail, on any message, the content will disappear.
Apologies for the sideways video, the filehost forces letterbox on their playback tool. You can download it to view it vertically if you need to, but I think you get the idea anyway.

I feel your pain bro. I had same issue. I have 2 gmail account linked generally . tried removing one, even then face the same issue. Moved to We want ICS ROM.
i have it sometimes, normally it helps to close the app with holding the back arrow (remember to activate this feature in rom control) and also kill it in your recent app (holding down your home button).
i even have this issue sometimes in the facebook app
give it a try, icecoldsandwich is a really amazing rom
I am using the [NIGHTLY][ROM][4.2.1] CyanogenMod 10.1 for Samsung Captivate. I noticed the "search with camera" within the google now just crashes. Also, if you tap the mic and say"scan this barcode", it briefly opens then crashes too. Any reasons why this happens? I would of liked to post in that particular forum but since I am a noob I can't.
Everything else working great.

I am on Same ROM, on 22nd Dec build and I don't have any such problems so far. Try Clearing data/cache of Google Now App. Might help you!!

I have tried clearing cache in google search app, clearing data, reinstalling gapps, and reflashing.
I didn't even realize this was possible, but the fc is an issue for me when I try it. I'm running Captivating 6.2.1 which is based off cm10.1.

Yea, it is not the biggest deal in the world, but I would like it to work. Other things I would like to see in this rom:
- year on lock screen with date
- camera zoom
- google play lock screen music controls like in cm 9.1 (right now it is a tiny box instead of the whole screen)

Thanks for posting my issue in the cm 10.1 4.2.1 forum!
Apologies in advance if I'm breaking some forum rules in posting this here, but I'm not able to post directly in the dev forum yet.
So in the latest build of PA, I changed my camera to front-facing and now Gallery crashes before anything on the camera loads, resulting in my complete inability to operate the camera at all. I've browsed the dev thread and didn't see anything regarding my issue, so I was wondering if anyone has any ideas? I was thinking I could possibly delete the camera app via Titanium Backup, but I don't know where I'd get the default Camera apk.
