hey there. was just wondering if anyone out there has the singtel rom that comes with the set in default. the one with singtel's own startup and shutdown animations.
long story short, I've accidentally reformat my sd cards and in turn lost the backup rom. if anyone out there who has it can so kindly upload it somewhere so I can download it, that'll be awesome! (incase I need to visit singtel for a replacement set)
also, any idea where to get the MobileTV application?

or, can I just flash an asian firmware(what build do we use anyway?) and use someone's singtel's update.zip file? quite new to this do yea

I'm a Optus user (Au Singtel) and it was not posible to backup our stock roms. But Optus did release a update to DTJG4 just recently so we now have a rom to default back to incase we need repairs, Maybe Singtel will release one for singaore VERY soon

ah, but any jg roms will boot me to the singtel one with their own bootup screen or...? thanks.

1) Make sure you've your data (files, sms, contacts, etc.) properly backed up.
2) Press *#272*HHMM# (HHMM refers to the time on your device in 24hrs format when you entered this code).
3) Select XSP and click on the "Install" button.
4) Your phone will reboot & do a wipe on itself.
5) Enjoy your Galaxy S without SingTel's customizations.

Yes, but next time remember to take the time out and record your details before flashing to other firmware..
I9000DXJF4 was the original..

Actually, I should say, that I9000DXJG4 from Samsung firmware doesn't flash for me.. Jams on FactoryFS

i connect the phone to kies and check firmware but no jg4 leh...

this might be a very stupid question.....
but how to update to this firmware for original condition samsung galaxy-s with I9000DXJF4 ???
there dont seems to be a Menu --> Setting --> System Update menu in the galaxy-s

I can't even connect my device to kies.

I connected to kies and it told me that a new firmware is available. Just have to click to update.

but Kies is not detecting my Galaxy-S :-/
using Win 7 64 bit

I'm on windows 7, 32 bit too. can't connect.

try tis...do a factory restore n format ur internal sd card once ur done connect using kies mode again n it shld work

Sent my SGS in twice using other countries firmware and both times i didnt experience any hiccups, servicing was done perfectly fine.
They even gave me a new battery

Using Win7 64-bit... no problem with Kies and update to the latest firmware (I9000DXJG4)...
try restart your PC and Phone and try again...
Make sure you don't have any Task Killer that kill connection when screen off
Edit: Also, make sure: Setting->About Phone->USB Settings->Samsung Kies

Kies 2.0 & reg hack

Hello,
My friend told me that after installing KIES 2.0, REG HACK no longer works.
I won't be able to install KIES on my computer for another week or so.
Can anybody verify if this is true?
It was really the easiest way for me to upgrade firmwares.
It would be a real pity if this is true...

Kies 2.0 creates a new reg. key so yes the existing hack will not work.
Whether or not there is a reg. hack to be found I cannot say. If there is I am sure it will in the near future.

This is correct. Kies 2 creates a whole new entries in registry, I also think we won't be able to update firmware via registry hack anymore.

I did the update in both versions - used registry hacking in 1.5 and normal update in 2. Both versions worked fine for me.

I have windows 7 X64 - Kies 2.0 doesn't like it.
I can connect it, and it says all the drivers etc. is installed (i even installed the x64 drivers) but it just sits on "connecting" for hours and does nothing (despite the phone saying it is "connected)

I also use Win7 x64 and didn't have any problems with version 2.
Try reinstalling drivers via tools > install driver.
But it will still take some time to connect the phone first time (took about 5 min in my case). And try rebooting your PC, it could help

[Q] Darkys 9.3 and Kies?

its me again .
I have a simple question maybe anyone knows bout it.
First of all, like always i searched like ****.
I have the darkyS v9.3 and a speedmodkernel.
Now i tried to get my Samsung i9000, work with Kies 2.0.
But in the uper Corner, its just trying to get Connection, i let it search about 10min now.
When i do it on with just USB its connecting imediately.

Kies is **** mate so don't worry about it. Kies connects for me on Darkys 9.3 rom

Kies its a known problem and i never found an actual workaround bar a different computer .
However its no loss as you can do everything without Kies and the only reason for Kies is the genuine firmware update route and you have locked yourself out of that with non genuine rom anyway .

Export your contacts to the external sd card or sync them with Gmail.
Now delete Kies as its ****!

Phone not detecting kies mode..

My i9003 doesnt ever go into kies mode ( pc suite ) even when I select it. it jst exits back to home screen... this started happening after i purchased my memory card...
Ive tried dismounting it and then plugging in, reinstalling kies, trying other computers... nothing... i dont want to format my phone... any fix for my problem?
When i plug in phone and select kies mode... phone goes into standby mode(home screen) and kies keeps on connecting/searching.... it NEVER connects...
help!

Why do you use Kies btw? No one uses Kies unless for drivers.
Also if your that hesitant. You should be more informative and write down your firmware, Or else you won't get much support

dude just selecet kies as default in usb connection mode under connectivity in settings.and then connect to ur pc.it will work.

Reinstall your phone drivers, go to tools -> install drivers

incase your using a different Launcher like, adw, launcher pro etc then try switching back to the default launcher and then try connecting through kies, i had the same problem

my version is the stock 2.2.1 ddkb2..
ill start to root/flash my phone to xxkb3 today...
Actually was going to go for job training and wouldnt have had a computer there... so didnt want to fiddle with my phone...
Now ive got a job in my state.
So let the modding begin!

[Q] problems with odin 1.85

Hi everyone, im noob here, tried to root my samsung sg2 today, was all excited but odin keeps crashing when i hit start button , anyone else have this problem? i'm using windows 7 on a brand new laptop that isnt even a week old, "home prem" if thats of any use. thanks for replies.

Mate, you're in the wrong forum. This is for sgs. Sgs2 has it's own - you'll likely get more specific help there.

yeah ive got the latest version of kies installed, its all ok until i hit "start" in odin ,and then it just crashes, must try it on a different laptop

i think the problem is Kies. Kies starts with windows (background). Open taskmanager and look for kies, KiesPDLR & Kies TrayAgent. Kill all this processe and after it start Odin and try it again.

Did you boot into download mode
(Vol down+home+power when phone is off)?
