Hi, perhaps somebody knows if i8190 supoorts HD Voice/ AMR Wideband from Hardware + Software site?
And when yes, how to activate it without root? On my S4 I can do it via Service mode option.
On i8190 I never found something like that into the service mode...
Want to talk to my Girlfriend In HD Voice, please help
Nobody?

one way is to go to network operator service and have them installed the software with HD Voice. backup up your personal data before doing that.
i tryed searching for software with HD voice enabled but can't find it.
ATO firmware had hd voice for older phones. but for i8190 don't have it. yet

To bring branded firmware to an not branded phone is not an option for me!
When For example Vodafone have enabled that feature in their radio rom, then there must be a way to activate it somehow.
When I need root for that ok, but With my GS4 there is a way without root over service mode option. When use the same way, then I cannot see options like AMR-WB into it, so there must be another menu for that!
I'm generally not sure if this phone is supporting that feature at all!
My GF has the i8190 version, so without NFC or LTE!
ATO is open austria software and is not branded to any mobile carrier.
if you find something helpful please let me know.

But, how to check that it is enabled?
install software and then call a friend which you know for sure it has voice hd enabled. i don't know any other way. i'm not a developer.

I can call myself on my gs4, this is the only phone where I know exactly that hd voice is enabled!
Generally only Vodafone and Tmobile have hd voice active here in germany in their radios. Standard DBT devices generally have that disabled.
Perhaps I'll give it a try.
Problem is, that I have to factory reset the phone then, I think that will be no option for my GF!
There must be a hidden service mode for that....nobody?

I am using CM7 on my N1 in Europe without any problems. And I have had a signal in Germany (where I live) and I have traveled to Czech Republic, Switzerland, Poland, Denmark, Sweden, France, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, and possibly more (although, I haven't gotten to the UK yet... it is on the list). I haven't had any issues with a lack of signal.
What kind of issues are you running into? Just an unstable signal? What is your radio/baseband version?
i'm on the oxygen rom, on Vodaphone UK - signal is as perfect as vodaphone ever is
CM7 here on my Nexus on Three Ireland. Works fine on Three UK too

I'm considering getting a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 SM-N910U from Hong Kong and was wondering if Samsung has started Region Locking their devices in Hong Kong since they have started doing this in Europe and America?
Do I have to activate with a Hong Kong SIM card before I can use it anywhere else in the world?
Any help would be most appreciated.

I live in HK and bought mine here. Use it regularly with Japanese, French and US SIM cards without any issues. You should be fine.

Excellent, so I don't have to go through any device activation process with it.
I also have the hong kong version and I have used it in the USA and Colombia without any issue.

That's excellent thanks for the advice guys! I will let you know what I think of the device once I get it!
No lock, but be aware that in the UK you will be limited with the supported bands - for 4G you may have to go with EE or... Three? I forget now, it's been 6 months or so since I got mine.
Have a look at the supported bands, and compare to your UK supplier - I moved away from Vodafone for this exact reason.
I'm on a O2 Pay As You Go SIM , which from my research should work fine on the SM-N910U.
I'm on Rogers in Canada and my N910U works just fine. Although I seem to have constant ****ty cellphone reception that my s4 doesn't seem to have, both are on Rogers.
AFAICT O2 use 800 for 4G and 1800 for 2G, so you'll miss out on 4G if you use the N910U on O2 in the UK.
I could well be wrong, but that's what 5 minutes of googling told me.

I appreciate the info with regards to O2 and the Note 4 N910U. I did my homework too before reaching my decision If I do decide to get 4G I will switch to another network. But 2G will do me just fine for now as O2 has allot of free WiFi hotspots in the UK.

:good: Fair play, just so you know about the 4G bands - which you're well aware of
I do have another question with regards to cell reception on the Note 4. I've read a few comments from other Note 4 Users that they have experienced some cell reception problems. Has that happened to anybody else?
Hey guys,
I'm really intested to get the galaxy watch 3 but sadly in Germany they don't offer the ecg/BP yet. If I buy a watch from a US store, let it ship overseas and activate it in Germany will I be able to use those functions?
There is no BP yet but you do get ECG. If you want everything SPay, BP, ECG and such use the Brazil ZTO firmware.

I don't know the answer to this. The issue is also to check if you have LTE support for watch bought in USA as well if you choose this version.
I know for example where I live on GW3 they will not get ECG and BP in the future so buying in a different market or changing csc is relevant for me as well.
It seems sideloading ECG/BP with the latest firmware is now not so easy.
You can buy the watch in Germany. When you setup the watch you can choose a different region, e. g. Spain. Spain supports BP, ECG, spO2, and Samsung Pay.
I bought my watch in Holland (same problem, no functions released yet, except spO2) and got everything working by choosing Spain as region.
Please do make sure the watch is intended for the German Market. Some retailers import watches from abroad. If the country they imported the watch from is not part of the group of countries Germany and Spain are part of, you get stuck. In Holland, e. g. Coolblue only sells products intended for the Dutch market and are quite reliable. BOL and Amazon work with 3rd party retailers who import from abroad and are not reliable in this aspect. Coolblue is also active in Germany.
You can also buy directly from Samsung.de,which shouldn't give you a problem either.

Some had complained they couldnt see one or the other. Wasn't aware all functions work with Spain CSC as Brazil ZTO had official BP confirmation and other functions.
Is it possible to set call recording, I used to have it on my OnePlus as standard.
It depends on which country you reside:
Note: The Call Recording feature may not be available in Australia and some European countries (Spain, France, Netherlands, Italy, Portugal, Belgium, New Zealand, and Russia).

I'm in the UK as well and this is a massive let down for me. Should be a standard thing, specially now when everyone is recording us non stop.
CubeACR works OK in UK

Good afternoon,
I appreciate the watch itself will work, but I am wondering about things like Google Pay/Samsung Pay. A few years ago I bought a galaxy watch 3 (pro maybe?) from Amazon which happened to be from UAE, so I couldn't set Samsung Pay up (google pay wasn't available back then).
Thanks!
Hey Carlos,
I can't say for sure that this will work well, Samsung usually makes different kinds of software for different regions which can cause issues like your UAE watch had. I've had a friend who ordered one from Germany and all the Google Pay / Samsung Pay things worked normally. Keep in mind you'll pay an import duty on it.
The only thing that immediately comes to mind is that you will likely not be able to fall back on your warranty in case any issues arise. Also your charger will have an EU plug. I normally get my smartwatch accessories at Smartwatch-Straps.co.uk but they don't seem to have any chargers in stock, sadly.
Kind regards,
David
Good morning,
I bought via Rakuten (marketplace) a Galaxy Watch 5 4G in Spain and I live in France. On reception, I have Eastern European countries but not France. Will I have limitations? Why does this watch, in the EUR/UK version, offer eastern countries but not all western European countries? Is it possible to replace the firmware for a compatible one in France?
Regards,
Romain

Hey Romain, you can change your region perhaps. This is a one-time process though, and you can't revert it. You must first find the EMEI of your watch. this should be in your settings somewhere.
To start the progress:
Open your watch dial pad and enter: " #272*EMEI# " of course use your own EMEI here.
Next you should be able to select your region code. For france this should be XEF.
Hope this helped. Let me know!
Kind regards
