[Q] Help with Firmware update - Sprint HTC One (M7)

I updated my firmware on my Sprint HTC One using this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2368907 for the 1.31.651.2 update. I have s-off using revone and I flashed the s-off firmware zip using fastboot.
When I flashed the zip, I got a couple "failed" messages which I clipped in the attached pic. After rebooting the phone, everything seems to work okay except the phone now freezes sometimes and says "PROCESSING". Pressing the home button will unfreeze the phone but this is obviously annoying. When I check the software version on the phone it still shows version 1.29.651.7 and I am still getting the OTA update alerts. I have flashed the firmware zip twice with the same results.
Anyone have any advice?

Are you using a custom rom or did you flash the stock rooted rom from the thread?

I'm still running the stock ROM I bought the phone with. Do I need to flash the new ROM to run with the new firmware? I'll try it and see what happens...

What is your baseband?

Update: I installed the Rooted ROM from the thread. No problems so far...seems to have done the trick.

FYI I have the latest firmware but my build/software version still says 1.29.651.10 this won't change until I flash a 1.31.651.2 rom

Excellent you shouldn't have any problems, but feel free to try other roms. Nothing wrong with experimentation..

Did you have to re lock the bootloader?
From My htc ONE.
I keep getting "The downloaded systtem software update is corrupted. Do you want to download it again?"
I flashed stock recovery. Do I need to oem lock too?
EDIT:
I oem locked and now I can't get out of the bootloader. I'm facked! Went through this last night and only after I unlocked a 2nd time could I boot back into system. Will flashing the latest viper give me everything I need to fix the back and home buttons?
Had to ruu to get the upgrade. First time using ruu ever so ibhad a little trouble at first

Just flashed OTA KERNEL over Stock Root.
Boot-looped, since I had a Nandroid, I WIPED... checked my recovery "mount" menu and noticed "System" wasn't selected... installed de-odexed from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2282200
booted fine, updated to OTA 1.29.651.10.
Hope this helps!
I ended up flashing Viper's Rom and its was the best thing I ever did, the Rom is flawless and has a lot of tweaks and pull down toggles menu.

Ok, so this confuses me. I am by no means a noob, but this ota thing has me baffled. Is this firmware or just a software/kernel update?
So Viper stated the his PRI or Baseband didn't change after he did this method. Isn't that the phones firmware?
So if this is the case, can't we skip this RUU, fastboot, flash recovery, re-root, piss our pants technique and just flash a rom that is based on the new update?
I'm curious. Hopefully someone can shed some light for me!
Sent from my HTCONE using xda premium
Im not sure... But flashed Viper's that already has that OTA version on the latest rom. Wow.. This Rom is perfect! And love the pull down toggles menu.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe you're talking about firmware. Firmware is completely separate from roms, Viper's rom is based off 1.29. You just need a rom that's on the 1.31 firmware like OMJ's rom. The reason the old RUU failed is because you have the 1.31 firmware so the old 1.29 RUU won't work.
Interesting thanks for the help

Real Google Play Edition One Flash/update problem...

Hi guys...
So I've been searching for a fix for my google play edition htc one... I'm currently on stock 4.2.2, I unlocked the bootloader, installed CWM, rooted the device, installed a custom kernel. Everything was perfectly fine until I wanted to install 4.3 on my phone. I never flashed anything but the kernel to this phone. (since I knew cm10.2 would need time to get massaged) I am having problem flashing any rom onto my phone.
I got the OTA, I tried installing that, and in the middle of the install, the android icon goes from the blue swirl to the android lying down dead.
I tried uninstalling the kernel... no good. I reflashed the stock 4.2.2 recovery, no luck. I tried to RUU the phone (after relocking the device), and it fails with the message (remote: 12 signature verify fail). I get the same error w/ the 4.2.2 and 4.3 RUU... (both from the conversion to google edition thread)
I gave up on going w/ stock after trying several times. I downloaded the cm10.2 official nightly for the m7ul, transferred the zip file, and installed it thru CWM but I get the "Status 7" error that says "assert failed: getprop("ro.product.device") == m7 II etc. etc. I checked my build.prop and my ro.product.device is set to m7.... just like how it is supposed to be....
Is there anything I'm doing wrong here? Do you guys have any idea why I am unable to flash anything?? Any kind of help is appreciated.
Thank you in advance.
Install twrp or cwm again. Install nammit94's stock 4.2.2 rom. Put stock recovery back. Software update should install 4.3 then. The ruu won't work to restore you because it's a user made unsigned package and only works on s-off devices. Just installing stock kernel probably failed because there are non stock modules left over in /system nammit94's rom should set things right

I think you can go back to stock, but read first. There are posts for how to do it. I think your mistake was you tried to flash an OTA with a custom recovery, doesn't work..ll
There is no ruu for an s-on htc one Google edition. You have to be very careful. Make a nandroid.
I tried flashing the stock recovery back before applying ota too.. Can you point me to the right thread?? I've been searching but can't seem to find the right info... BTW I think turges ROM worked.. Not sure why cm didn't

a stock backup + stock recovery, which is flashable should be fine.
I have a backup of post-rooting stock and I tried using that with the ota with stock recovery... But that didn't work.. I guess I should've backed up prior to rooting? Not sure if it makes a difference... Is there an easy way to unroot other than ruu?

Thanks gunny. Found that ROM.. Had dig a little since his user name was Namit1994. I'll try this out later...

[Q] Can't Upgrade To 4.3. Goes To Booloader

So I had my HTC One rooted and flashed viper rom. I relocked the bootloader and flashed back to stock rom 1.31.651.2 and everything went smoothly. I went to system updates and it found the 4.3 update and downloaded it. When It gave me the option I clicked install now and the phone rebooted, but into the HTC screen with the development warning and then straight into bootloader and did nothing after that. I rebooted and tried install now again and the same thing happened. What am I doing wrong? Why wont the 4.3 install?
I would suggest getting S-OFF before taking the OTA.
BTW it's NEVER a good idea to take an OTA
I would assume there's already an odex and deodex version of stock 4.3 floating around somewhere. That's usually the first things devs release when it comes to OTAs.
Sent from my HTCONE using xda app-developers app
If you are taking an ota on a stock rooted Rom you need to.flash the stock recovery. It will not work if you still have custom recovery on your phone.

Sure it is, I took it knowing I had S-Off and that the OTA wouldnt reenable the security flag. That's all you need to do is be S-Off to ensure you can downgrade if need be.

Awesome. That worked. It wouldn't install the first 2 times, it pretty much just went to installer, did nothing, and then factory reset itself, but the third time was a charm and it installed fine. Thanks so much for your help!! Greatly appreciate it.

[Q] bootloop/no service Sprint HTC One

Before I did anything I updated to the newest firmware. Then using twrp I created back ups and transfured them to my computer. I flash the Android Rev 4.3 not knowing it was GSM only. The phone never would go past the boot loader. So i restored from my twrp back up. All of my stuff came back but I had no service and after about a min the phone would reboot it self. So i did the factory wipe and have been trying to get a rom to flash since then. I was finally able to get one to load today but i still have the same no service/reboot issue, however now i can't access the menu. When i swipe up it just says HTC till it reboots it self.
I have resorted to using ADB to load roms I have even used super wipe with no changes. I'm out of ideas here.

Download any RUU and upgrade the firmware manually. There are flashable zips in the general forum I believe.
Here:

Do that or install an old RUU and do the OTA upgrade.

Please forgive me as my flashing back to stock experience goes back to my Motorola Photon days. If I soft-bricked my device I would SBF (Motorola's RUU) back. Any version would work. Once I had the device reloaded I would then re-unlock and try again with my favorite choice of ROM.
Honestly at this point what do you have to lose? I would try any and all RUU's to try and un-brick your phone.

One benefit would be you wouldn't have to go thru so much trouble as you have in the past few days. Just run an RUU and done

All you need is to flash a radio bro. If your phone comes on with no service it's missing a radio at boot. Just go to recovery, hit advanced, hit adb sideload with phone connected open command window with platform tools and type adb sideload (radio name) and hit enter. No parenthesis.
