Does anyone know exactly what we get with a Nexus 7 pre-order, and if this only applies to Play Store orders?
So far, I know we get this:
1. $25 Play store credit
2. Transformers: Dark of the Moon full movie
3. Bourne Dominion Book
4. Several magazine issues (which magazines?)
5. Anything else?
If this is only for Play store orders, then it would greatly justify paying extra for shipping instead of trying to buy somewhere else

Just the $25 credits or everything?
If everything, I'll wait for Gamestop to sells it.... No need to pay $15 for shipping.
I didnt even know we were getting all this stuff. Cool!

Is it actual magazine subscriptions? I thought it was just a few free magazines you could download.
What I wanna know is if the 25 goes to the account you buy with, the one you put on it or do they give u a card

I called the order info number, and they said the freebies will be added to the first account activated on the device when you receive it.
In the uk were only getting £15 play store and the movie, no books or magazine subscriptions as of yet

They also need to sort out Google music in the Uk unless this is been done on release.

It says you get the movie amongst freebies on the pre order screen, they just haven't confirmed what else.

You are aware its not hard setting up Google music for in the UK aren't you? You can't buy tracks or albums but the upload and streaming your music works just fine! Google it, it took me 5 mins once I'd tunnelled a US ip address.
Google certainly should have included "Blade Runner" in addition to or instead of "Transformers".
The Nexus 7 Android whose mission it is to kill Rogue Androids... That would have been a whoot!
Since you get a permanent copy of Transformers, I wonder if they will release the ability to purchase movies when the Nexus 7 ships.

I know most people dont have the time to watch IO but I did lol and yes, in the US, we can now buy full movies to keep permanently. Along with magazines and tv shows. Much I believe are both new

You can purchase movies and tv shows now. Just buy them from the play store on your pc and you can watch them on your android device. All content will show up in the Google Movies app once you purchase something.
Long live the One X
All freebies are pre installed ON THE DEVICE and it doesn't matter where you buy it from (hell I doubt Google will stop offering them even after the pre order)
They are all assigned to the first Google account you sign in with

That was not my understanding. At least Transformers should be in your locker, available for downloading.

I don't think that's true, pretty sure Transformers is up for streaming, and is not pre-loaded onto the device.
So I went to watch Monday night football, via ESPN watch via nexus 7...well I kept getting device restricted, and I submitted feedback, here is ESPN response.

what a crock.
there is no real difference between an ipad/nexus unless they take into account cellular connectivity/mobile data. Two comparable wifi devices with different rights is rubbish.

Someone is probably paying ESPN for the priviledge of streaming to the iPad.

Probably has something to do with the exclusive contract the NFL has with Verizon.

More likely a business arrangement between apple and ABC/ESPN if it was Verizon not all iPads would be able to stream it either.

I assume it's because the WatchESPN app treats the N7 like a phone (correct me if I'm wrong but I don't believe the iPhone can stream MNF). Which in this case sucks. Similar to having a tablet only sub for the NY Times.
I'd be curious to know if it's playable on the N10. If not that would really be wrong...

You know if there was a proxy app that we can modify the headers being sent, we would be able to spoof ESPN servers into thinking its an iPad, just look at header request and force that through the proxy. Any thoughts? This thoroughly makes me mad!
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
I'd be pretty pissed too. I think your header idea in theory would work. Or maybe using a player>open URL or open ftp. Then attach the header prefix and see what happens.

MNF on watch easpn
It's funny because I can't watch MNF on my phone or one of my tablets, but it can't be because it has to be an IPad. My second tablet is also an Android and I can watch it on that one. It's an Acer Iconia A81. So don't buy their lies.
So, I just got my N4 today, went through all the motions and such, until I realized I have a bunch of free content from the play store. Magazines, a movie, 2 TV series, and a couple of books... Did I miss something?
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
Yeah. This applies to everyone who received their N4.
You get free Google Play stuff when you buy a Nexus from Google Play
I was playing around w/my phone and came across the Google Play app. I was like "oh s#%t! I can watch Transformers for free!? Cool.." The next day I was on my laptop surfing youtube when I noticed "1 Purchase" under my account. I clicked on the link and said "WTF! I didn't pay $19.99 to see Transformers: Dark of the Moon!" I then went to my Google Play account history and saw that the movie was free lol.
Kool beans.... i was waiting to get charge for the shows and the movie... awesome
Is this phones from Google or T-Mobile? Because mines from tmobile and I don't have anything free.. Damn it, sorry just saw the above post of Google play

Are you sure it's for Nexus 4? I just looked at Transformers and it's £7.99, even though I bought from Google.

A bit misleading. Shipping is only free when you sign up for a trial of their buying club membership which will cost you if you forget to cancel it before the free term is over. Shopping is $5 otherwise which is reasonable.

My USB cord that came with it was free. I think these are a gimmick if it doesn't do HDMI which the N7 can't. So its a waste of $

Agreed, plus when you put it down you "automatically" put it on the stand so it charges.
I have been waiting for my dock that I ordered from Cost Captain. They told me it would ship in the 2nd when I called. I called today as the status has not changed on my order. I was told the manufacturer changed the date until 2/22. I cancelled my order. Of course, they charged my card as soon as I ordered, so we will see how long it takes to get my money refunded.
From reading their reviews online, this is typically the way orders from them go.

If only more Chromecast related apps were on Amazon.
btw The Youtube app for Amazon Fire TV has a Chromecast feature. I found out about it when I wantd to watch Youtube vids on Chromecasts from my Nexus 4 and noticed the option to cast to Chromcast and Fire TV in the cast drop down menu.
