Hello forum users
can anyone share a recent lag fix for my i9000 please?
i rooted my device and i have got Busybox 1.17.1
kindly regards,
stepan12
Hey,
First update your busybox, and if you doesn't matter, I would recommend you to change to a custom Rom. I'm from the i9001 but I'm sure that in the development forum of the s1 are a lot of tweaks for GB. If not look into the i9001 forum

i dont want a custom rom i just want a lag fix..
For my experience, stock ROM sucks and always lag. Ever since I updated mine to Supernexus 2.0 M1 ROM, my phone is just as stable as Nexus 4.
No joke. Do it to believe. If you don't wanna do, then hard reset your phone and format the entire drive. Should be pack with a lot temp files and caches.

which rom has a lag fix? and if i install is my device the same? i mean the theme etc etc..?
You don't need to install a custom rom. Speedmod kernel should be what you're looking for.

DO NOT FLASH FROM CM7 OR MIUI!
Installation:
-Flash an i9000 based gingerbread rom.
-Download the darkyrom configurator from market.
-Tap flash kernel, modem, and wipe
-Start the flashing.
-Enjoy
Features:
-Based off of darkyrom 10.2
-JVP bullet kernel
-KB5 modem
-fixed home haptic feedback
-fixed volume keys
-fixed softkeys
The bootanimation app DOES NOT work. Nothing's wrong with the rom. It's just that our kernel does not support it.
GPS is not present in this rom.
Flash roman's GPS fix to get GPS functionality: http://www.multiupload.com/7NTP7RTCO9

Since Cmenard kinda took a break, I'm looking for someone that can develop a vibrant JVR kernel or someone that can teach me how. PM me if you know anyone that has kernel experience.
Hit thanks please.

Damn philip you are ridiculously fast in your follow through, you said the other day you'd port it and it looks like it is out now. you are pretty amazing there with your ports!
You have ported this already?! WTF?! Its been 24 hours! <33333
Too bad its JVQ, it has that horrible soft reboot bug (in the kernal)

Does this problem occur in JVP? Its been so long since ive been on a JVP rom. I found that JVP was the most stable out of all the gingerbread roms
Not a port guys ....this is how you install it. Look at the original thread and the instructions are there.

I felt JVP was the smoothest, and the only problem with JVP was the browser which isn't really that bad because it was still really usable.

Just flashed like a normal ROM without the Darky app and flashe from BiWinning a FroYo ROM and worked flawlessly.
Okay. Here I go. I ported from toxic hero darky 9.5 and worked okay.
Problems and concerns:
1) Computer voice saying welcome to darky's rom. Doesn't fit in well at the office.
2) Bootloader app doesn't work. Please let me know how I can custom change the bootscreen by going into the files.
3) Multicolored lines running across the screen after Vibrant bootscreen but before Galaxy S screen
4) This needs BLOATER app from old Darky roms!!!!!!
Otherwise I think it's perfect. unbelievably fast.

Do you have changing lockscreen issue using EDT's app where the lockscreen is not set right when you pick a specific lockscreen?
I flashed through CWM becasue Darky app doesn't work for me, I don't know what might be the cause ...
there is no darkyrom configurator on market. there is darky app but we need clear instructions coming from other gb roms. does it have worling gps fix?

Hello.
if i install cyanogenmod on my galaxy note and make a full wipe, is there a risk to brick my phone ?
I also read that cyanogenmod uses much cpu and is slower than stock ics rom.
is that true ?
Thank you
I think its best you stay on whatever firmware you are currently using, and also to do a lot more reading before thinking of installing different software.

Which ROM would you guys recommend, which would solve the phone restarting issue I have with the S5830i?
It may possibly be a Rafael kernel issue as people have experienced this on various ROMs including stock. I'd recommend upgrading to the latest kernel and trying out stock or stock deodexed ROM to see if that fixes it because obviously stock ROM is the most stable.

I forgot to say its full reboots when dialing or during calls that is the suspected Rafael kernel issue so if it doesn't fit that description maybe its not the same problem.

Cassie's xtralite room. Most stable, most speed, less bugs, best deep sleep despite being a gb rom.
after flashing many original development roms, I'm back to xtralite rom and I'm not planning to flash another for quite awhile.
it's not the latest and greatest but hey, you asked. Peace out.
Alliance Rom! You just need to go into Android Develeopement thread and see which is the most popular one
I was on Alliance ICS Final for a long time and this is the most stable and absoultely smoothest rom , but it is ICS, you may try if you like...
Now I am switched to Alliance XXLSC, requires the installation of some fix over the Rom customizer, but worth the effort. I just installed 240dpi mod and a few others with nova launcher and it is amazing... contains everything you requested in your first post
EDIT: you know that the stock ICS kernel is not safe for wiping? be sure that first thing you need to do is flash a safe kernel if you are on ICS (from stock recovery it is best to flash PhilZ kernel first, then you can continue to rock )
the best is Stock official rom preinstalled on your NOTE.

oh...if this rom is what you want, you should buy a Note 2 instead of flashing a jellybean daily driver for Note 1. I'll be flashing a multiview rom soon but I don't expect to be on it for very long.
stability is what I want too.

I have recently switched to droid from iOS and I am very confused about rooting.
I have NoteCore kernel on 4.0.4 and I am looking for a custom ROM to flash
I don't know anything about roms and I was only following a guide when I got NoteCore so a good explanation along with ROMs would be good
I want to know what is the best rom for a galaxy note in your opinion, I am not really looking for much. just it has to be quick and have S pen support (I dunno if all roms have that)
also any other cool stuff to add to my note
sorry for all these questions but iOS has so little customization I am just used to everything being served on a plate
many thanks, razzile

This is my review for ultimate jb.i used stock roms for a year.so dont try to have a high jump.you may brick your phone.i used a zip file in recovery to root my n7000.i dont feel comfortable with odin.
I think you can find good info if you search root galaxy note.
Read my thread and i'll be happy to hear from you my friend

if you are on Notecore kernel, you must be already rooted and have CWM and notecore is a safe kernel too.
so you can go about flash custom roms.
here is a list of roms that you can choose from
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1847786
read the reviews and features .. "my best might not be your best"
Well its accourding to your taste you have to try touchwiz ROM like alliance or ultimate or cyanogenmode like asylum (the best for now) then you will decide touchwiz or CM Every one of them have a dozens of custom roms

If you are new to android I would stick to a stock ICS rom with PhilZ kernel until you feel comfortable with how android works. In my opinion the leaked JB roms are not recommendable for a beginner, they still contain bugs. And I would not directly go to a custom rom too because it takes at least som knowledge to fix the problems you might encounter. With a stock ICS rom.in combination with the PhilZ kernel you have root rights, CWM to nand backups (system images),.everything you need for a good android experience. That's a good base to start. And as soon as you get to know the os better you can start using custom roms if you like.
