I know unlocking bootloader wipes data and bravia engine.
and dwr keys. But what does it mean?
is bravia engine removed permantly or we can enable it again somehow and the walkman app too
If you unlock trought Flashtools, your phone WILL not be erased...
And for DRM keys, use TA-backup from Android original development Forum, and keep them safe

I have CM10.1 install on my XZ, if I install by flashtool a stock firmware and relock bootloader with this program, I can update by Sony OTA or pc program in future? I didn't save DRM.
You can update with relocked bootloader, but if you have no backup of yor TA unique partition, forget about DRM keys and what is related to them (gracenote, trackid, BE2 and whatsoever)

The only way I know if you backed up the ta of phone then you can restore after bootloader open.

Well guys I have a rooted with bootloader locked C6943 I did unlock the bootloader did the procedure to root and then restored my TA partition and it's fine until now. My question is, I have the TA backup, can i flash roms like CM11 and other with KitKat and then if I decide to go back to stock could I restore this TA backup and restore the DRM and use X-Reality, Exmor and Sony stuff again?
Thanks in advance.

Did you Backup TA after or before Unlocking Bootloader?

That's really the only unclear thing in OPs post.
If you did backup TA partition before unlocking the bootloader, then yes, you will always be able to go back to completely stock. If you did ever unlock the bootloader before backing up the TA partition, then no, you won't be able to activate things like BIONZ.
I did when it was locked.

My version is the C6943 that's basically the C6903 but with Digital TV. Can I flash the CM11 beta for C6903 on my C6943?

Then Yes, you can go back to original state. But to flash CM11 you have to unlock bootloader again and from that point before even thinking to relock your bootloader you have to Flash a Stock FTF first, if you relock your bootlader on CM11 with Custom Kernel you will brick your phone.

That mean if ever will work you will not have Digital TV because the C6903 don't heve that.
BTW I will not do that, you risk to brick you phone. I know somebody who flashed a Stock C6906 FTF on C6903 and working fine but this is on your own risk and responsability. All the FTF are specified for certain devices.
Hi there, just want to know
What is a kernel
Why do I need it
Which is the best for xperia z
How do I install it?
Short explanation: a kernel is the communication interface between software and hardware. If you haven't one, you can't use your phone.
There are custom kernels and stock kernels. Stock kernels are by SONY and they are not "something special". Custom Kernels are by devs(example from the xda forum).
With custom kernels you can for example overclock your cpu. Also you can save a bit of your battery life with some settings.
But for flash a custom kernel, you need to make a TA backup(to keep warranty), then unlock your bootloader.

But i have already unlocked my bootloader so my warranty is gone, even if I made a TA back up, is it?

Yes. After unlocking bootloader we loose the drm keys, which are unique. So normally we have to save them with a TA backup.
SONY can check if they are available. But if you once have to send it to SONY, relock the bootloader and try it. "SONY is sometimes a bit lazy" and doesn't check if they are available. Some users also forgot to relock the bootlader and they repaired it.

You need to backup it before unlocking operation.
1)Does anyone knows if the DRM keys are erased when the bootloader is unlocked?
2)Are they restored when we re-lock the bootloader?
3)Can we backup the keys before unlocking?
Thanks in advance.

Do Google Play movies still work on a unlocked bootloader?
Do it work on a relocked bootloader?

If you have movies downloaded BL unlocking will erase them as you know. Just re download them! lol that simple. As long as you're using the same Google account I'm certain Google play can reauthorize them or something similiar, as long as they're not rentals.. i think.
Also ask for some help here:

Not the Moto X forums but they can steer you in the right direction!! hope they can help you.
Thanks for replying. I will make some research before unlocking the bootloader.
If I found out something I will post here.
