Hello!
I have a big problem..
When I want to install Dropbox it sais, theres no empty space left. So he's basically saying that my SDCard is full, which is not true. I have like 17GB left..!
When I want to Install Dropbox, or Skype, I get that error message.
But when I install some other apps, I dont get that message.
For example I can't install Dropbox or Skype. But I can install "Epic Citadel", which some of you may know, is a pretty big Application (about 130mb)
I can install it without a problem , and use it perfectly.
But DropBox isn't working. Neither does Skype..
Im on the newest ViperOne. (Team Venom)
17GB free Space
Stock Kernel (even though I think that has got nothing to do with my error..)
Think that's all you need to know about my Phone atm. If not, ask.
Anyone experienced the same ?
Need help :/

the problem is that you don't have 17 gb of space for apps, only for music/pics etc..
the memory for apps is only 2 gb big... :/ that's normal.. so maybe these apps are just too big and you really don't have enough free space (i don't use them).

If the Space was really full, I guess I couldn't download an even bigger application ?

It's my dad's phone, and he's not at home now.. I will take a look tomorrow and post here again.
But I remember it showed 17GB under settings --> storage.
Honestly I don't really think that my space is full yet, I haven't got that many apps installed, and I was able to install an ever bigger application without problems.. Dropbox and Skype aren't working. The rest is working so far.
I wiped cache partition and Dalvik Cache.. Still having the same problem :/
Any other ideas ?
As I said, I will take a look tomorrow and post here again, how much it shows under settings-->storage-->apps
Thank you so far

nope cause then the point of big storage is gone
You can download and install voice command easily ... some people, some don't. I think in the essence of making a big storage rom, it's best to leave it out and then people can install it themselves.

I've been working on the same thing for zcink's perfect rom.
So far I have the following memory config:
47MB + storage and 26MB + programs with 6MB pagepool
I'm trying to get it to 48MB storage and 27MB programs at 6MB pagepool, with the apps he listed..
Looks good.
Since you're working on smaller ROMs like me now, PM me if you want to try to help me find a way around the 51.2mb requirement that the RUU flasher has. It's annoying having to pad the os.nb to be able to flash small ROMs. And I'm not sure you're getting the space back, either.
Or if you're interested in researching the DOC structure of the phone... that would provide a way for us to figure out whether it's possible to merge the extROM with the main storage.

Hmm, interesting.
Question 1: Do we need to full wipe if we're coming from a previous version of MIUIv4 (as in the version MarkHoj put out?)
Question 2: Does Netflix play more than a few seconds?
edit: your download link doesn't seem to be working. Do you think it's possible you could use something like dev-host to store your rom?

Thx so much. I will try it.

Hi all,
My phone just started to show that I have a "low memory" I cannot for example install GNow for ICS (this one e.g. says I have only 3 megabytes available in my /sys/ directory).
does anyone know what the problem is? I didn't have such a problem before on a stock rom even with twice as much applications installed.
The problem is more interesting that I have more than 1,5GB of space available on both memories.
Thanks in advance

A friend of mine had the same issue. I figured out it went away if I went to Settings->Applications->GPS or google maps (can't remember)->clear data.
Eventally it always came back though.

Thank you for the suggestion. Will try.
That is very annoying because the phone has a lot of free space to use and now the ROM just downgrades your otherwise high specs phone to a low-end model without any memory.
The annoying thing is that this was a very popular problem with many solutions but you didn't search.

Dumpstate issue
I got this crap in my N7000
in my case, solved by:
*#9900#
Delete dumpstate/logcat, confirm, go down and press Exit.
My problem was solved.
Sometimes, once per month, I must do it again...
Well I fixed it with another way. I simply went at the storage options and I changed it to install all the new apps at the sd card. After that it only showed it one more time and then it was gone.
Hey guys,
I've been going back and forth between Sense and CyanogenMod, and finally after setting up CM to how I like it, I checked the internal storage and it say's I only have 5GB left. I'm fairly sure there is some data that is not accounted for, but I've also tried checking with apps like SD Maid, and I can't seem to find it.
I have the 64GB model
Here is what Storage in settings shows:
Total Space: 54.26GB
Available: 5.25GB
Apps: 634MB
Audio: 18.59GB
Downloads: 17.60MB
Cached Data: 153MB
Misc: 391MB
I currently have the ATT HTC One 64GB model
CM10.1 05.19.13 Build
SuperUser and CWM Recovery
If anyone has any idea about what could be taking up all my space and how to fix this problem, I would be grateful. Thank you!

Wouldn't that include the 18 gigs of music? I wish I could post the screenshots I took of the settings page (Under 10 posts lol), but when it says calculating, the bar goes all the way to the right and shows that majority of the space is being used. But once everything is calculated, the bars go back to normal.

I've tried using SDMaid, and it says most of it is in /data. Something interesting I found though is that there is a an sdcard0/ folder and emulated/ folder that have the same files. Could this be the problem, that most of my files are being duplicated? Or is this normal?
Bump. Anyone have any ideas on what's happening?
Just noticed you're using CM 10.1 Could be the ROM has only set 32gb to use? Might need to poke the CM developers to allow you to use the full fat 64gb.

That's completely normal for 4.2. That's the same for all devices running the same OS version.
Also, you can upload a screenshot to a site like imgur (probably easier to use the imgur app) and then use the option to copy BBCode. You'll then be able to post it even though you're under 10 posts
Hmm that's weird. I tried using pics from TinyPic but they didn't work. Imgur does though. Thanks!
Just used DiskUsage, and it's showing that System Data is taking up 30 gigs of data. From what I've been seeing, this shouldn't be so. Any suggestions?

Also, I know that apps and gamnes go into this folder, but I don't have any large apps or games on this phone. Largest app says it's Candy Crush, which is only 45Mb.
I'm pretty sure it might be just Cyanogenmod being set to 32gb instead of 64 gb. Do a full backup, install the stock ROM and see if you get the full space?

I'll go ahead and try that.
Few questions:
When I install stock ROM, do I need to install the stock recovery or is that only for if I want to restore my phone fully to stock (un-root)?
How do I set CyanogenMod to 64GB?
Just installed the stock ROM. Wiped everything with CWM then installed via zip. I opened up the Storage settings and it still shows that something is taking up my space.
Looks like my photos and music stayed behind though. Do those not get deleted with a full wipe?
Nope, your files on your SD card stay
Sent from my HTC One X TEGRA 3 using xda premium
Using CM10.1
Figured it out. Turns out I haven't been doing a full wipe when I do a factory reset in CWM. I usually did wipe user data and dalvik cache, but after reading online I also had to do /system, /cache, etc. That pretty much wiped everything, and then I restored it from a backup. But stupid me also formatted the internal SD, so I had to reimport all my music and pictures.
