[Q] stuck in fastboot - Motorola Atrix HD

New to this forum because im generally in the sgh-m919 area.
A buddies atrix hd is stuck in fast boot. Will I need to run fastboot commands to reinstall factory image sinilar to nexus 4 and others or is there an easier way?
Don't have my hands on the device yet, but from what he says the device boots into splash screen then boots to fastboot. Though Im curious if he means bootloader.
Any advice would be swell.
spoke before looking at the guide in general. the phone was purchased new 2 months ago so I am assuming it had 4.1.1 installed. does the fastboot screen show version number by chance?
cheers

Here's what i did
using One_S_All-In-One_Kit_v3.5 for all my modding
got token
unlocked bootloaded
didn't flash any recovery
flash a new .img kernel, but i used a boot.img from a zip file (home2wake zip) - don't ask why, i wasn't thinking lol
phone rom was all black, keeps rebooting
i managed to flash recovery, recovery-clockwork-6.0.3.1-m7wls.img
then wanted to restore stock rom
so i downloaded, this rom, http://android-revolution-hd.blogspot.com/p/android-revolution-hd-mirror-site-var.html
flashed zip using recovery
went through the rom custom installation of what i wanted installed.
After that it rebooted and stuck on green htc screen
i can get back into boot loader, but can't load recovery, can't factory reset, any option i select, the screen flash and sends me back to bootloader
rom won't load, can't get into recover, computer not detecting phone

Why did you use one s kit, I'm confused
Sent from my HTCONE using xda premium
you can try to load ADB Fastboot on your PC, then connect your phone via usb, be sure to have all of the drivers.
in bootloader, if it reads FASTBOOT USB, then you can us
fastboot flash recovery (Name of recovery).img
once that is done you should be able to at least get back into recovery....
check the link for recovery file
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2236418
I am no expert, but my guess would be to go back to stock boot / recovery: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2236418
Relock your phone: fastboot oem lock
Install the RUU: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2250904
And in the future don't use an All-In-One-Kit meant for another phone (The One S in your case)
p.s. Another thread that may help get you back to square one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2251800
thanks all,
will try all the suggestions above tonight, will let you guys know how it goes. i used the all one s because it was gui and easy and lots of extra and functions. but i guess the extra made it worst.
Right now when i plug in my phone the computer doesn't detect anything, hopefully the adb can talk to it to flash a new recovery/rom/kernel.
Pm me

It wasn't the extras that messed it up. It was the fact you were using an AIO that isn't for your device. That's a big no no.

i was using this, all of the recovery on there were for samsung s3/s4/and special edition. so i couldn't get to the recovery. Then i started tweaking around with the extras and flashed a boot.img to a kernel. failed
Android Revolution ROM is not for the sprint htc one. fyi
First you'll need this file http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2250904
Extract to someplace you can find it, maybe the desktop
if you power the phone down then hold the vol - button does it boot into bootloader?
if so make sure you have the htc fastboot drivers installed from htc sync
if your on a windows machine from command prompt navigate to the platform-tools folder
for example
mine is in C:/users/ray/downloads/adt-bundle-windows-x86_64/adt-bundle-windows-x86_64/sdk/platform-tools
in command prompt issue the command
fastboot oem lock
once the bootloader is re-locked
issue the command
fastboot oem rebootRUU
the phone should reboot into a black screen with greenish htc letters
find the setup.exe file from the ruu file and run it.
if all goes well you should be back to stock with a locked bootloader.
good luck

Let this thread be a lesson that 1) don't mess with your phone if you don't know what you're doing and 2) don't flash a GSM ROM on your Sprint phone because it wipes your boot and recovery partition (on GSM phones, it wipes data and system but sprints partitions are different).

Failing after making a bunch of random attempts to do something doesn't constitute learning. Next time you should make sure you actually understand what it is that you are trying to do before you do it, and maybe then you won't end up almost completely wiping your phone clean.
You're lucky that the international One's and Sprint Ones partitions aren't like the Sprint/international S3, or else you would've overrided your bootloader as well and had a brick on your hands.

[Q] Fastboot on power-up

Apologies if this has been answered before, I searched the other threads and it seems so one has my exact same problem. I bought an Atrix HD from a local seller, unaware of this little problem that it boots into fastboot mode after powering down and back up. (seems he had been tinkering around with it with no success) I found out I could do the pwr+vol.up+vol.dwn trick, causing it to go to the boot menu screen and then booting up normally. I figured I could live with that small annoyance.
But after doing more research I found out that this AHD had been updated with the most recent OTA that irreversibly locks the bootloader and disables any possible rooting. I just dont want to keep this phone anymore if Im going to be stuck on stock JB ROM, and no flashing capabilities. And I really want to have that HDMI overscan option that apparently was in ICS and they took it away. (I know, stupid me for not researching this before buying). I just want to be able to sell this phone WITHOUT having to warn the buyer of this fastboot problem, which I think would really decrease the value of the phone.
Any ideas of a method to fix this?
Have you tried the Myth Tools?

I had checked that out, and noticed it uses motochopper and motopocalypse for rooting and unlocking bootloader. I had already tried those methods with no success, and figured it was because of the July OTA locking it all up. But I got a private message from a member who said he was in my same situation and able to flash a ROM back with myth tools. So maybe I just wasnt doing it right. I'll try again, paying attention to detail...
Update: still no joy. Installed JDK and the adb-fastboot-apk I cant root or unlock BL with myth tools. It just hangs. Even tried just flashing a couple ROM's listed in the myth tools instructions thread, because hey, what could it hurt now? No success, just kind of formats my phone but still the same version.
If it's of any use, system version is: 98.4.20.MB886.ATT.en.US
build number: 9.8.0Q-97_MB886_FFW-20
Are you sure the bootloader was unlocked. Once unlocked, it can't be relocked.
have you tried flashing Mex retail using rsd lite to downgrade a version
I didn't know the atrix got an update. I thought it was only for the razr. To fix that issue re flash the boot image.

[Q] Is there a 2nd-Bootloader and TWRP for 7.4.7?

I recently bought a KFHD 7 2013 with version 7.4.7 loaded on it. Root was fairly simple but after reading through Hashcode's and seokhun's threads it seems like the installation for Bootloader and TWRP is updated for up to 7.4.6. I was to install some custom roms to make this device into a full android tablet so does anyone have any info for kindles with 7.4.7?
Has anyone tried and succeeded using the methods in the tutorial for 7.4.6?
Is there another way for 7.4.7?
Please post up if you have any information.
OK put it this way, the current method does work for it, because the main thing to know is we have to downgrade the boot loader first anyways. You can also downgrade the is if you wanted. Anyways point being, the current freedomboot image more than likely doesn't work with that version, but here's the important little bit about that. The freedomboot doesn't really matter as long as you put the ROM and gapps on the device first or Don,t mind going through the trouble of pushing it onto the device with the adb command afterwards when it's in recovery. If the current freedom boot version isn't the same as the os version you typically will bootloop. So yea in short yes it works, just put the ROM you want to flash on the internal storage first so you can flash it without a hassle.

Oh I see the link was missing a hyphen! I need to go to this thread and use the tools provided there. Since Rootjunky.com posted up a really good video to get into fastboot mode I should have no problems getting this to work. After I downgrade I can easily follow seokhun's guide and have CM or PA installed in no time. Thanks a ton!

I thought the 2013 model of the HD 7" still only had root ability? Or is there more than one 2013 model? I've been checking the forums like 5 times a day, waiting for a way to get a custom rom on this damn thing. Did I miss something?

[Q] Kindle Fire 2 running 10.4.8

Hello folks,
I posted this in the wrong forum earlier. Im a bit confused and need some direction.
I want to unleash my KF2 to full android tablet, So...I know i need to root it, I want to go with KitKat style rom but want 100% reliability (so will go with the most stable platform), I have been looking at the guides and how to pages for a week now and there is a lot on conflicting or different information. Can someone point me towards a guide or someone who can help me please.
My KF2 is stock with sideloaded apps at present its software version is 10.4.8 (which i can find no information about regarding root or other hacks)
any information will be gratefully received.
Many thanks
Andy

root with kindle fire first aid, think it also has a option to install twrp and 2nd bootloader for you, not sure how reliable that is considering you are going to have to downgrade the bootloader and stuff, for some reason fireflash never had kf2 support added to it, which i find odd considering it uses the same method to do it, minus the fact it needs a different bootloader. Long story short, root with kffa, then either use kffa's option to install twrp and 2nd bootloader(if it has it) or use the tutorial for your device in the android development section made by hashcode. You must downgrade your bootloader though if you do it manually, just a heads up so you don't get stuck with a redscreen that only a fastboot cable will fix.
Thanks very much

O you don't need a fastboot cable, fastboot cables are only to kick it into fastboot mode when bricked, you can get into fastboot from a working kindle with commands such as
Code:
adb reboot bootloader

10. [disabled] caution: install 2nd bootloader <TWRP>

you could still do it all you need to do is run a simple "adb reboot bootloader" from a command prompt while cd'd into the kffa directory. Thats the equivalent of what it wants to do.

Sweet those are 2 fields I'm always interested in, I took a lot of autotech courses back in highschool because I have an old 75 corvette that sat in the driveway for about 10 years. Already replaced all the brake calipers, master cylinder, rebuilt the carburetor, and did the most ghetto fix to the tachometers circuit board to fix a blown circuit you will ever see. xD
I'll stop digressing before there's a huge paragraph about this, long story short it still isn't drive able yet because the transmission needs some serious fixing (some kinda vacuum issue makes the engine die when going into drive unless you rev it a lot while doing so, and occasionally it blows ATF all over the place from the dipstick/fill hole, was told by my teacher a while back it is probably a blocked vent or something, don't remember the term right now because its been awhile since I looked into it, but I digress again)

ok i'm still here to help, also now i recognize who pm'd me the other day *facepalm* sorry i've been gettign on xda like right before i fall asleep lately because of a frustrating project i'm working on thats a bit above my knowledge. Rather than donwload the big sdk, look for a tut made by me in my threads (theres not many threads i created) and it has a zip with adb and fastboot in it and thats it. Way smaller and easier to use, just extract it to a directory and then shift right click the directory and hit " new command windows here" and you can run the adb and fastboot commands. Also drivers are in my signature. They are the kind that you right click the device in the device manager and hit update driver on to use. Any questions feel free to ask.
