This is a problem with our ageing GN. Use a small thin flat screw driver and gentlely lift the middle plate at the usb port then use alcohol and small toothbrush clean the usb port, wait till it drys up then bootup. Cheers

[Q] Battery state on Galaxy Note shows as charging although no charger connected

Hi all.. my 2 weeks old Gnote is having a strange issue by showing a charging state although not connected with any charger. I saw the micro usb slot looks like it is a bit rusty with some green dust in it which I wiped already. Any ideas why this is happening? Thanks.
It could be water damage if it is green in colour

If I send for service although under warranty, will Samsung charge?
If it is water damage (you would know) and samsung suspect it they will charge for sure

Phone Acting weirdly - Flickering, Battery issues, Random Restart

I keep shifting from rom to rom but never had a problem. Recently after I shifted to Utacka's PA I have been having issues with the phone. Sometimes the battery charge drops to zero suddenly. Sometimes the phone screen flickers with bands across the screen and sometimes it just restarts on it's own. Even after shifting to Alliance's JB i get the similar issues. PLEASE HELP
Pullout the battery, is it bloated? Download betterbatterystats and check for what's using the battery most at these times, first place to start in guess.

Time to say goodbye to your battery and buy a new one

Agree... if that will not work, try to shift to again to other rom.

The battery is a little fatter in the centre. I just hope its a battery issue and not some corrupt motherboard..

Does your phone think its charging even when not plugged in. If so it's your USB charge flex board. It would show as battery plummeting to zero charge indicator flashing on off and in settings about phone status it would switch from charging to disconnected

how long you have left it on the charger?
just connect a charger to a phone, and leave it for a while, it will wake up...
I charge it overnight, no use, its weird, maybe I'll send to service center.

Does the note 2 have the same size of battery? If yes you could try that only if it's the same
Not same, tomorrow I'll try buy a new battery first if its ok if still not then to service center

One such incident was reported elsewhere in the forum. The phone won't wake up or recovery mode. But the phone was able to go into download mode. So the guy flashed gb rom thru pc Odin.

I bought a desktop charger and charge the battery first, its all ok now, seems my note have problem if battery completely depleted so cant charge with the phone directly, now I can charge the phone directly as long as battery is at least 1% .

It could be problem with cable, also with charger and also with power connector. But in my opinion its similar problem as here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2237838

Check out the how to disassemble thread. But first try pressing the back above the sim slot. Had this issue once.

There's no a perfect answer, but I'm fighting with the same problem, in my case put a lil piece of paper under the battery and it push it to charge pins, sometimes works sometimes it doesnt.
I should put a layer of paper ? Or make it with volume to press the battery ?

forget about the paper, right now I'll throw my black for the window, it's a piece of sh*t, now looks like charging at least 3 hours the battery status is 3%, never end to charge
