I just purchased an eb40 and still waiting for it to arrive (they shipped me an eb20 instead, now waiting for the replacement).
Just thought I'd ask, what ROMS are people using with eb40 battery?
Currently on liquid smoothrom, is there anything that needs to be done after installation?
All roms are "compatible" it's just a battery man doesn't matter if your running stock or paranoid.

Just got the extended battery for the Droid 2 from Verizon store today and it works well with my Droid 1. Unfortunately my case won't work with the extended battery cover so I ended up having to leave the back cover off in order to fit it into it.
I am going to be testing the battery life with this new battery and it looks to be rather awesome in terms of not having to recharge the phone during the middle of the day or end of night before I get home.
High recommend so far. Will post updates more later on.
Which case do you use if you don't mind me asking?
It was a clear plastic case from Verizon.
They work really well, been using one in my milestone for a couple of weeks. Lasts the whole day now.

Extended Battery Door?
Forgive me, but it's unclear to me which extended battery door works... ANY links to GOOD extended batteries and covers would be awesome! Thanks!
Does anyone know if you can fit the Droid/Milestone door over the extended battery if you remove that sticky sponge pad on the back? I got a Droid 3 but want to go back to using my Milestone and I'm looking to enhance it yet keep the stock look.

How come you want to roll back to the D1/Milestone?
I almost pulled the trigger on a used D3, but will probably just buy a new D4...

The software was horrible, the build quality the Droid/Milestone has no longer exists, it had issues getting a signal most of the time, it was too big and so much more. Dislike the Droid 4 even more.
Doing a full rebuild of my Milestone but I'm stuck with a US keypad as I can't get the UK one.
I have heard some mentions of a Droid 4 Maxx being released. I have yet to find any official (or even semi-official) proof that it exists, but since I purchased the Droid 4 at full retail, I'd like to take advantage of my return policy if I know that a Droid 4 Maxx is on the horizon.
Let's try to keep this thread clean, and on the topic of whether a Droid 4 Maxx exists. If you dislike the fact that we can't remove our batteries, I feel your pain, and everyone else with a Droid 4 does as well...but please refrain from complaining about it here.

Their are no rumors, or any official documents stating of any existance for the droid 4 maxx as of today, i know before some source has mistaken the name of the droid razr max, and called it the droid 4 maxx, thats as close as it gets.
As of rite now, no word on droid 4 maxx.

Either way, I think the battery life is pretty decent as is. Would you want to buy the Droid 4 Maxx if it was 1/4" thicker?

Hummm? I haven't heard this. it would be interesting. But don't know if I want to take my phone back and be without a phone, I traded my Droid3 for the Droid4. I think that would but me without a phone. But I think if there is some way that they would do this. Then there must be a way to get the part aftermarket and do it myself. What do you think? I'm not to worried, about doing a little hacking on my phone, as long as I good steps to follow.
There have been no rumors or official statements, only speculation by a couple of the groups that reviewed the D4. It is possible that they will release one with better battery life but that has yet to even be mentioned by anyone with any real say in the matter. I feel it is unlikely that, if they did, it would be too much of an improvement because the phone is already quite thick and they wouldn't add too much to that.
It seems likely that they will redesign the battery in order to allow it to be replaced but I doubt we will see a 3300 mah battery out for this monster.

Sure...I already put a case on the phone as-is, so adding a bit more thickness wouldn't hurt anybody...
I know, I know...that's what she said.

Of course I would. Im personally not fix on the phone size. Personally I like more size especially when it means more battery or larger screen.
Droid 4 external battery
I am surprised that third party battery company's have not developed an external battery for the droid 4 that connects via the contacts on the back of the phone used for wireless charging mats. This of course would not be able to act as your primary battery but at least it would be a way to charge the main battery by attaching onto the back of the phone.
At this point I am assuming/hoping it is because the D4 is still relatively new. Would definitely be something I'd be willing to pay for...
okay please dont call me names, im trying to see if its possible...
i know the razr maxx has the standard "4 prong" battery connector.
would it be possible to but a razr maxx battery inside the bionic?
heres a site to buy the battery, because it would be so cool if it were possible...
Im sure someone will figure out how to very soon, Im just opening the door for it now.
please post results here.

No. You cannot. Completely different. Go to Amazon and get an extended Bionic battery with the phone back for less money.

Oh yes. I forgot that they are 50% off at Verizon. Definitely the way to go.
thanks everybody
I wasnt sure if it would fit or not, but was hoping it would.
I will get the extended battery as you guys suggest.
and again thanks!
I agree with above:
Bionic Stock: 1735mAh
Bionic Ext: 2760 mAh
Razr Maxx: 3300mAh
Note: there are generic batteries that supposedly pack more of a punch than even Motorola's extended battery, with up to 4000 milliamp hours. However, these batteries are HUGE, and generally don't perform as well anyways. But, feel free to try your luck and let us know how it turns out!

Hi all in the Moto camp! My SE X8 went obsolete overnight once I discovered some useful music creation apps. Being a cheap-ass lead me to a Verizon Droid 3 with a broken digitizer + replacement on eBay. No offense hardware looks great.:good: Should arrive a week from now.
I have two question at this point:
Would it be fair to say Maverick and SteelDroid are the most actively developed complete ROMs right now?
I'll be using a GSM 900/1800, UMTS 2100(HSUPA). Anything to keep in mind here(except unlock)? Should I consider the AT&T guide mandatory for my intended usage?
id say mavrom is the best atm. And most active. Devs are still actually bringing updates to it and a new update should be coming out soon/ a overclock tool
Its super stable and im getting 1-2 days on the extended battery with it.
Eclipse 3.0 is still dev'ing and is wicked for performance, comes overclocked(at the cost of battery though)

Phone should arrive tomorrow or early next week. Reading on I've learned sim unlocking is a bit hit and miss, flashing to stock SBF should increase my chances but for some unlocking remains unsuccessful. Not knowing this I couldn't pass up on the offer, I payed ~180 USD total including new digitzer, moto battery, moto cable and shipping for a dual core device with a physical keyboard in fair condition. The cam quality has me excited with the blue tint fixed there's lots of detail and audio quality is above par: http://www.soomal.com/doc/20100002749.htm
Fingers crossed.

I bought my droid 3 pre unlocked on ebay because im a noob lol. Using it on att right now.
Looks like we won't get Kitkat update.. they are giving 100$ off for people with atrix hd to buy moto x..
http://www.gsmarena.com/motorola_offering_atrix_hd_owners_100_off_moto_x_as_apology-news-12505.php
What do you guys think? Is that fair ?
I wish this deal were for upcoming 3rd gen Moto X, otherwise this is kinda useless for me.
Really need firmware not to be carrier specific. I remember reading that Motorola had KitKat ready for the Atrix HD and we were just waiting for AT&T to give it their blessing. I hope the trend for no contract phones will diminish or stop the carriers insisting on modifying the firmware.

Sucks. I had planned to stick with the Atrix HD for a while. I would've enjoyed running stock KitKat. Stock JB isn't really usable for me. I guess we should've learned from the past about Motorola/AT&T and updates when picking a new phone.
And of course having a KBBL would help a lot in getting the latest unofficial updates if one wanted to go down that route.
