Hello,
Yesterday i rooted and flashed CWM on my xperia Z.
As soon the recovery was installed I was able to acces it. I did this on the boot, when the led turned green started to press volume up key.
I was able to acces recovery than.
But now when I try to boot in recovery, via the same way my phone boots normally for some reason.
No way it enters CWM, but the LED is turning green on boot.
Can someone please explain what im doing wrong?
Regards, and thanks in advance.
Try flashing dual recovery, follow the instructions for the "How to install using the installer" section.

Do you reboot using CWM or the power button menu?
I get that error whenever I try to do it with CWM but with the power button menu or the 3 button way, it works like a charm.

by cwm do you mean rom manager? because yes it is quite hard to get into cwm with cwm?
op are you on stock? if you are running a custom kernel then cwm is part of it and rom manager wont work right just use the power menu or the 3 buttton fix. if on stock and rom manager is not going to cwm, its going into regular recovery and from there you can reinstall packages and it should boot you cwm.

He's following a guide so I think he'll be fine - The only thing is that he had lost his 3 button fix using Odin3 so he needed another way to get to recovery. I believe he got it working with abd and we should hear from him shortly

Imo he should stop what he is doing and use the odin package to flash the 3 button fix before going any farther then. Unless he already has a jig that is, then it doesn't really matter.
Oh wow.. nvm about my last reply.. I confused two different thread.
He should be fine getting in recovery with the power button menu. ROM Manager does tend to screw up when you try to access CWM recovery with it.
Yes, I just rooted my captivate and I installed rom manager, but when I try to reboot into CWM it just goes to the default manager.

well i tried, led color are back to normal, but when i enter recovery i get black screen. what to do know.
thanks for your help i really appreciate a loooot
You might have to flash stock .244 again, and wipe everything. Flashing CWM then installing dualrecovery might've messed it up.
Root using this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2386405
Then install dualrecovery.

Can't get anymore detailed than this: http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com/instructions
Otherwise you could try: http://www.unlockroot.com/unlockphone.html
Unlock your bootloader this way, then follow iHackers instructions for "unlocked bootloader installation"
He explains it pretty well for a locked bootloader.. like I said, I suggest you unlock it via sony's method then go ahead and follow his "unlocked bootloder installation", if you're struggling to follow his quite simple instruction on how to install iHackers with a locked bootloader.
As always back everything up!
I have already backed up TA, unlocked the bootloader, installed cwm recovery...
My problem is that I dont know how to do a few steps under "unlocked bootloader" instructions;
I am not sure how to install iHackers advanced stock kernel(step2) and i really dont know how to install Kernel.ftf with flashtool(step7) I also dont know what step8 actually means.
Please help me if you/anybody can and apologize for my bad English.
Thank You

To install iHackers advanced kernel, download the ZIP from that website, put it in your phone's internal memory, then go to recovery (cwm), then click on install zip, choose the iHackers advanced kernel.zip.
To install stock kernel in flashtool, download the ftf they provided, and then open flashtool and click on the "flash device" button then go to where you saved the ftf you downloaded, then choose the ftf and click flash. When it asks you to connect the phone, power off your device and then hold the VOL down button and connect your phone while holding the VOL down. keep holding until it starts flashing. after that just disconnect it and power it on.
Step 8 tells you that you can now install any kernel you want (if you are familiar with a particular kernel, you can install it)

Thank you, that was really helpfulI, but I did exactly like you said, but when I tried to turn my phone back on, it stuck on the sony logo and I cant do anything except to turn it off with power button+voume up key and flash firmware again.
I am not sure where i went wrong, maybe at step 6; after the installation i unticked to reboot my phone and I turned off the phone from cwm recovery, so where to select No to Disable Flash Recovery Confirmation?
Thank You for answer.
I figured it out, thanks one more time

Post what you did for others to see? May be able to help others in a similar situations.
Sent from the iron man themed phone. (thanks XDA Premium)
I actually skipped step 3, where you click on reboot recovery option. I have never worked this before so...
About step 6, after you install the rom, in cwm recovery go to Advanced-power options-off and click NO, than you flash kernel.ftf and thats it.
I dont know what i was thinking, its so easy
Hi guys,
Ok, so I've searched through everything and I still can't find an answer to my problem. So, basically, I have just installed Cyanogenmod 11 on my Xperia SP successfully using CWM recovery and then I wanted to reboot my phone again into CWM, so that I could install gapps, but I just couln't. Despite pushing right buttons while booting or making him boot into recovery mode, he always turns on the system. I can't get into flash tool either, but maybe it is because I have a blocked bootloader. I don't know if it's a valid info, but I have used "Wipe data/factory reset" before installing Cyanogenmod 11.
Please, help me, as I have no clue what to do now :<

Did that. Still, nothing worked. I installed twrp via rashr app as you suggested, then the was supposed to reboot in the recovery, but again, it didn't, just instantly went into cyanogenmod.

Maybe his bootloader can't be unlocked.
But if it can be (just dial *#*#7378423#*#* and check bootloader status), I too would suggest unlocking it. Makes flashing and customizing so much more easier and there infinitely more ROM's and other files to choose from.
Of course take a TA backup before you unlock your bootloader or your warranty's gone for good.

Which rom do you use? Probably you should shut down your phone and then press simultaneously power and volume down. Up to when you hear the second vibrate, now you should only push volume down. Then your recovery should appear

Remeber the more info you give less question I have to ask.
Model, rom, bootloader, root status etc
Unlocked bud
Then flash kernel image from Rashr app. Choose any stock based kernel. I like ok kernel. In the zip extract the boot image and then flash it through Rashr app from playstore. There you go kernel and recovery.
