Guys, I need to go back to stock rom 2.3, currently I'm with the ROM ICS (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2076882&highlight=stock+ics) with the new bootloader, I wonder if I can install the stock rom 2.3 by smartflashtool directly or need to do some other procedure?

You will still be able to use CM 10/CM10.1....forgot to tell you that...you can use the GB in as you are in Old bootloader and GB partition.
But, can I ask you why you want to swtich over? If it is to return the device, then google V10 Stock ROM NVFlash from Paul from Modaco site. That will be a perfect GB Stock ROM without any extra effort and also the old boot loader+GB partition all in one go.
You can also try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1472515 Civato makes almost near to Stock ROM and perfectly smooth&stable.
Hope this helps you and maybe you can PM if you need any more help.

CM7 is a customisation based on gingerbread .A bootloader is code that is executed before any Operating System starts to run.Every Android phone has a bootloader that instructs the operating system kernel to boot normally and every manufacturer has their own version of bootloader specific for the hardware present in it’s environment.
Yes you will be able to flash your chosen rom.
You will also need Nexus drivers installed on your computer after flashing.
thank you, aaaaaaaaaaaand could i go back to cm7 rom again?

as far as i know you will need to use odin to flash the stock rom and the the cm7...
a friend of mine tried to go back from ICS to cm7 by nandroid (was too lazy to use odin) and bricked his phone even the download mode didn't work for him...
he needed to use the USB jack to get in to the download mode again...
Yeah like Mich says its always better to go back to a stock rom before going custom. I am using team hacksung (cm9 beta)and it says to flash back to cm7 you just flash rom twice.

Yes, ok, So now i can flash to other ICS roms, but not to GB or froyo(etc) based ROMs. In case i'd like to flash back to froyo or gingerbread based rom, I'd have to use Odin(do you know any tutorial for that?), flash a stock rom, root it, and install-it by CWM recovery (would ODIN delete the CMM recovery?).
CAN I?
Thanks, I hope we help other people with the same questions.

Ive been seeking without results and i know its easy.
How do i install a kernel (semaphore ics)?! Do i have to rename it?
Odin and Stock roms
Google Odin 1.83 and download it along with your stock Rom from sammobile.com then follow the Instructions on that site to reinstall stock from and bootloaders . Its very easy took me 20minutes the first time and now I can do it during the break in the Simpson lol
I'm using Optimus X2 on CM9 now and I want to revert back to stock.
Problems I faced are unable to use front camera, camcorder and the camera freezing after a few uses and I have to restart the phone.
The build is great, but I just NEED the camcorder and front camera function. Call me stupid for not reading before upgrading (got my bro to upgrade for me on impulse) and now we can't revert to stock because the phone is not connecting to computer at all.
The phone can be connected by USB as a Portable Media drive but cannot be detected when drivers are used.
This is driving me to wits end ): Even my brother couldn't get it to go back to stock after trying for an hour.. I just want to go back to Gingerbread 2.3.4 (came with the phone)
I need help guys. Desperate.
Thank you all so much in advanced.
Oh to add on, any solution that requires me to connect to the computer now doesn't work at all. Because the phone cannot be detected by drivers. Gah.
It's not that CM9 isn't good. I just really need the camcorder function.
):
You have clockwork mod installed I assume? (Not sure if you can even install cm9 without it but thought I'd check )
Just go to the development section and find a stock ROM, and flash it using CM7. If your phone isn't detected in storage mode then transfer it over Wifi, software data cable is good for FTP, Airdroid has a pretty GUI and super easy to use.

if you want to go completely to stock, you can use NV flash.
it contains stock FROYO Rom and recovery, you can flash a gingerbread ROM afterwards.

I have rooted my device, installed the clockworkmod and Cyanogenmod 7.2
As far as I know you can't install a original firmware update on a rooted device.
So what do I need to do to prepare it for the ICS update?
Superoneclick unroot? will that do the trick?
Unroot
Yes super one click will unroot your phone. But you must flash it with an original 2.3 stock version if you want to use LG tools to upgrade it. Another way to get it is to download the .kdz ROM when it will be released and put it on your device.
Anyway, until now, only the SU660 -the korean version of the o2x- is getting upgrades... Patience

Ah okay, I thought you ment upgrading the official rom with LG-tool.
My Advice is to wat for the kernel source release.
It is said to be released 2 weeks afther the LG update.
Parandroid for O2x already has LG UI 3.0 + JB flavour. The only thing that lacks is video recording, hw acceleration and proprably other minor stuff.
So till the end of October, there will probably be CM9/CM10 release for O2x.

How many time, in your opinion, after official release a zip cwm flashable official based ics will be aviable ? it's soooo easy to flash by this way (last time I flashed an official rom I was forced to use the ftp server method , worked well but ....)
Thanks

as soon as the official release will be out, for now be patient , the devs on this site can produce a modded stock rom that can be flashed in cwm, just like v20q. till then we have to wait :silly:
I did use CWM to flash this: v20q.zip file (stock firmware GB) and did factory reset everything.
I can still acces the special boot menu when holding the power button and vol down button.
But I don't think the device is rooted?
Is that true?
I installed a memory cleaner app and it told me that my device is not rooted so I can't acces all the options.
So flashing v20q.zip file also unroots the phone?
Seems to be
But custom recovery remained.

Can anyone recommend a stock ROM and whatever other files needed (firmware/recovery, etc.) to return a used N7000 to stock?
I'm on my way to buying one from someone and probably will test out the CM10 installed on it, but in case it isn't very stable I want to return to the stock ROM.
I'm not a complete noob, but I know there are particularities to each device, and trying to figure out if it's as simple as finding the latest stock ROM posted here on the forum and flashing that with ODIN or whatever...
Thanks.

yes for OTA you need to have stock ROM.
You can directly flash latest ROM, so at least you need not to go for OTA soon.

Not true.. You indeed have to have stock kernel/rom/recovery but superuser/supersu are just apks.. So you can update being rooted and pray the process doesn't unroot your device.. But it won't prevent the ota upgrade

Hi everyone
I have just gotten a Samsung galaxy mini. I rooted it and unlocked it okay.
But then I wanted to flash rom and stuff, so I downloaded Odin, and flashed cwm, but... When Odin says pass, it press home + power and the Samsung screen flashed twice and sticks.
But the strangest thing is that it can still boot into android sometimes.
I am on android 2.2.1
iBook anybody can help as it is worrying me a lot
before flashing rom or CWM you will need to upgrade to gingerbread either through odin or Kies
and then flash cwm and after that flash rom with cwm
Thanks for the reply
I can't seem to upgrade via kies, can you provide a link that contains stock Roms for my samsung that can be upgraded via Odin.
Is there any chance of bricking at all?
Do you need any other info?
Thanks
