Hi,
I want to know if there is a way that I can see my nexus one on the TV. Or if not that, atleast show videos like from YouTube. I can only play audio.
Please help me. My TV has no USB port, but I have a USB thingy connected to my TV through HDMI.

Remote control your Nexus from your PC, and connect your PC to the TV.
But then why would you need Nexus...
I'm afraid it's not possible... the only thing you could do is this.
afaik, the only device through which you can do something like that is desire HD, since it features a mini-HDMI port.
You can't connect it the conventional way, since there's no HDMI port...but you could try through the USB cables
Btw, the Desire HD does not have a HDMI port, but the Evo 4G does.

There is no way to do HDMI mirroring without HDMI support built into the phones hardware, and unfortunately, the N1 lacks any ability to output video to anywhere other than the display on the phone.
What behelit was talking about is using a DLNA server on your device, which will allow you to have your music, videos, and pictures available for people to view over your local network with any DLNA compatible device. All while being wireless. Many newer Samsung and Sony TVs support this, along with a lot of their BluRay players (including other manufacturers) along with the PS3 and the XBox 360. Essentially it works like a dvd player where you will have menus and can pause and rewind and all that fun stuff.
I believe the usb host thread has examples of people using an external monitor, but I don't think the usb output is HDMI...
The USB host thread has people using external USB2HDMI adapter, which gets the output sent for it by the device driver in the OS.
No way to do anything like it without modifying the OS to have USB host capability to begin with. Or building a special external USB host and drivers.

Where could u get that

You could try and find a N1 Desktop Dock on eBay and use the mini-HDMI adaptor on that.
How can I best utilize the HDMI Mirror functionality on the phone? I have it working on a Sprint Evo using FullHDMI, but this app doesn't appear to like the Revolution?
Anyone else have it working? If so, how did you get there?
Thanks,

I was just about to ask something similar.. I have tried two different brand mini hdmi cables and i can get nothing to show on my TV. I have tried using it for netflix, videos from the gallery, etc with no success. I have tried all three resolution options with no success... has anyone gotten it to work with the built in HDMI options the revolution has?

Duh. I am such an idiot. I didn't look there. I found it, and it worked PERFECTLY on the HDMI input of my HP All-in-one PC, and on my 65" Sharp TV. Full audio and everything using a cheap cable from Amazon.
Thanks to the original responder for the hint on where to find it, much appreciated. To those who say RTFM, you can suck it because there isn't a mention of that to be found in the guide which came with it.

I had no sound at first. Had to change a setting on the TV to tell it to get sound through the HDMI. Works perfect now. Check settings on your TV.

At this point, your phone could have a bad micro HDMI port. I'd have it replaced with a new one. But if you feel like its not your phone then take your phone and your HDMI cable to best buy (or any store that sells Televisions) and ask a representitive that you want to test it out before you buy it (the TV ofcourse).
Most reps will let you hook in your HDMI device without causing much fuss.
If your phone works then its your TV.
If it doesn't then you can get another HDMI cable to test out (or find someone who has a micro HDMI phone and test their phone).
If it works on the second cable then problem solved.
If it worked on someone elses device then your phone has hardware issues.

I would need to revert back to stock or they would just write it off as a complication from rooting it....weighing my options...I'll update my findings.

Rooting your phone voids your warranty, so I'm pretty sure Verizon will check for that when they receive your old phone. They will probably charge you the retail price for the replacement phone they sent you.
I have a 360 and I use the 360 wireless adapter which currently occupies the USB port on the back.
I see that the Turtlebeach requires me to plug this into the back USB port.
What's the best way to go about this? No, I will not use Ethernet cable or get the new Xbox.

Would a USB hub work?
Max. (From my Galaxy 2)
I have to look for a hub but I don't know if that'll work. This headset is hella complicated.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA App
No it doesn't need to be plugged into the back port. You can use any USB port (even one from your computer). The back port is recommended because it only provides power thus freeing up the other USB ports for things that don't only need power for
Or at least I think so. Either way any USB on your Xbox will work for your Turtle Beaches.
Cool. I will try it now. This thing is a beast. I didn't think people took mics this serious. My GF got it for me.

What model is it?
Does Droid 4 have Host USB capability? In Lapdock it should but what about other methods.
Theoretically Droid 3 didn't have HostUSB functionality, but when you did connect it to Lapdock or HD Dock with USB the ports were supported and there were even app for supporting flash drives. The only with ancestor was that USB didn't have power so you couldn't use cables that have microUSB/USB to connect devices.
droid 4 will do usb host with a few caveats.
It will only do fat32 formated flash drives.
you need to power the drive off another device.
basically you need a usb otg (micro male on one end, usb female on the other) and a usb hub that uses an ac adaptor. The hub with power cord provides the power for the device, and the OTG cable is for the data. This can also be achieved using a powered y cable in place of the hub, but you would need to have the power-only usb port plugged in to a power source.
edit: link to y cable image for better explanation

Has anybody tried Remote Release with the Droid 4? It does Canon DSLR and normally works with Galaxy S2 and 3 without rooting.
Using a USB OTG cable I've connected my Canon DSLR but I had now joy unfortunately...it doesn't recognise anything. Also I've tried keyboard and mouse but that doesn't seem to be working either. Am I missing something

Thanks, I've seen this already. I guess what I was looking for is to understand whether everything OTG needs power or just things like keyboard/mouse/pendrive - things that actually consume it. TBH the DSLR camera itself is not actually being charged or anything, it is just DATA, so I was sort of hoping that I can avoid.
Out of all the devices i have tried all have needed external power... prior to the purchase of an HD docking station I just used a powered USB hub with an otg cable....

I think I've made an assumption that it would behave similar to my android tablet, just plug in the pendrive and it's all good. I have defo came across devices that don't need external power, especially for a camera that doesn't take power.

Does anyone have one of these that can tell me more about it?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Micro-U..._PDA_Cables_Adapters&var=&hash=item3cd4db7fb9
Looks like from the bottom of the listing it states:
"Attention: The MHL, OTG,Card reader and Charge function only can be used one at the same time. cannot use it together
all functions can be used only when the adapter is being charged"
Not a bad price, but if I can't at least use HDMI + another function like SD card or USB peripherals it seems a little redundant
Thoughts?

Hi.
Have you received your HDMI kit yet? Does it work?
I received mine today but unfortunately, the HDMI function does not work at all, I don't know if it is my TV or the device is defective.
The OTG function works only if external power is plugged in which makes this device almost useless. There is no way to plug in the external power and SD card at the same time.
My phone is running Jedi X16.
Update:
I read the instruction manual and confirmed that external power supply is required for all functions of this device. So we can forget about using it as a portable OTG doggle.
I also connected a USB keyboard and a USB mouse to it and both worked at the same time.
So the remaining question is whether the HDMI works with Jedi X. I tried it on two Panasonic TVs and both didn't work.
2nd Update
Read the forum and found that I have to turn on Airplane Mode for HDMI to work. My phone did detected the HDMI cable but no video out. Used my other cheap MHL cable and video was displayed on my TV. So it seems that my device is defective.

It works as an OTG adapter but you have to plug in power first to make it works so it is not too convenient.
It didn't work as an HDMI adapter no matter how I connected it to my TV.
Initially I thought it was defective, the seller had sent me an replacement but with same result.

I have the official mhl adapter from Samsung. Bought it on Amazon uk at a great price. Must buy from Amazon and not from of the other sellers from Hong Kong
Anyhow just mentioning that it too needs to have power supplied for it to work. I just plug a cheap usb cable into a usb port on either the satellite decoder box or the tv and that works fine.
Btw the Samsung mhl adopter works amazingly well. I've had absolutely no problems using it to watch Netflix, streaming tv, YouTube, or playing videos from the sd card. Everything I've thrown at it works really well.

One of these hdmi/usb/card reader devices?
I already have a cheapo MHL adapter which works fine (yes, you need power plugged in). But I wanted to add USB OTG, and this seems the only device that will give it to me on the cheap. So I'd really like to know if anyone has one that works with HDMI and USB at the same time.
I also find it hard to believe how so many sellers out there can be selling these when it's physically impossible to plug in an SD card at the same time as the micro USB plugged in for power. That's obviously a massive design fault.
Once the connection kit and the power are plugged in and the phone detected the existence of the adapter, you can remove the power and insert the USB drive or SD card.
