Its always a safe bet too wipe data/cache make a nandroid before you flash!!! Flash at your own risk Me, Davied, DJ_Steve are not responsible for anything that may happen to your device or yourself. Happy Streaking to you all!!!

Is there a way to flash using other ways other than CWM? I am already installed with 2.2.2 so I am not rooted so I can't install rom manager to flash CWM... what a circle...
Thanks!

Well I guess that is pretty stupid question ..
Maybe I flash recovery using this recovery first, then boot into recovery , then flash the .zip file.
NO!!! Your dell streak7 has an unlocked bootloader there for you can go to the clockwork thread by graffixnyc and flash his cwr through fastboot then boot into cwr and flash this. This has too be flashed through cwr.

the screen didnt hang.. that screen IS the fastboot screen.. when you have that screen you must plug your streak into your computer.. all the fastboot commands are issued through a command prompt on your computer..

yeah, i had typed command "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img", put the file to DS7, it flashed and hang maybe i had updated OTA march 23.
you dont fastboot flash this file. you need too fastboot flash cwr then flash this with clockworkmod.
And jiwengang you need too select option 2 in the stock bootloader. That will bring you into cwr.
So ur on official update

Question, I have still yet to update Ive always been the cautious type vs instant flashing.
Think I am ready now. So, since I did not OTA yet. But I AM rooted. I have Rom manager installed.
So am I correct when I assume, what I do it, Flash CWR, download this zip, then flash via the app to be updated to 2.2.2, have the tweaks and be set to go?
Also What T-mobile/Dell apps did it remove? Thanks.
You cant flash via rom manager. Its useless other then flashing cwr. But yes boot into bootloader by holding power and plus volume hold it until you see the menu. Select option 2 should put you into cwr. Once in cwr flash the .zip i provided. Reboot and you should be on 2.2.2 rooted. Good luck.

Thanks Hellzya, Will try it now. What Apps were removed tho?
Also are you all using a SD card for storage or nah?
Btw wiping out Data/Cach or whatever, that doesnt touch the internal storage memory does it? Never had a device with internal memory like this. Used to my G1 and using the SD card for everything.
i believe you dont need too wipe by i always do just to be careful. It doesnt take that long too reinstall everything and set it up. i do it for piece of mind. and yes i have a 16gb external sd but i put everything im gonna flash on the internal sd.
Thatruth ask davied or get on irc and if dj steve is there im sure he could help you.

Ok so I'm a great newbie when it comes to rooting.
I successfully rooted my phone yesterday, but the GPS and WIFI was stuck on so I decided to unroot it back to its original state.
Not knowing it was a bad thing to do I formatted all of the options on a CWM-based recovery screen.
including the now-known must not do /system
Now, my phone will not start.
I have access to both fastboot and Flash and have tried flashing the default .ftf file for the phone (gotten from this site, so not sure if it is the default one.)
I have tried to connect it to PC Companion but it wont connect, not sure if there's a certain way to connect it to that.
I have put other kernels on to try and fix the problem without luck
Is there anything I can do to fix this or have I well and truly destroyed my phone.
Any help will be greatly appreciated!!!

Formatting the system wipes the ROM.
You need to flash a ftf using flashtool or repair your phone using pccompanion.
Look in the all in one thread to find a ftf for your phone and download the flashtool from the first thread in the dev section.
Or if you are using pccompanion, then run pccompanion and click software update. Click repair and when asked to attach the phone then make sure its turned off and keep the volume down button pressed whilst you attach the usb cable. This is the official way from sony

Use the latest version
If you can get into recovery now, just flash it in recovery.
If not, extract the boot.img and flash it in flashtool using fastboot mode. You will now be able to enter recovery
Then flash the .zip in recovery to make sure you have the corect wifi modules
Then flash my ROM
I've run into another problem now, I cant seem to access my sdcard from my computer with usb

Do you have an external sd card? Take that out and use a card reader to put the files onto it.
If not, flash the boot.img from doomkernel in fastboot, then you should be able to access recovery.
In recovery you can mount the SD card (Mounts and storage) and you should be able to see the SD card then

The rom is rooted as is the kernel.
You should have a superuser app in the app drawer.
I suggest you make a backup now in recovery and leave it on your sdcard in case anything happens again
Always backup just in case you ****up
Glad you are back in the land of the living again.
I will be updating my rom later in the week so keep an eye out for that
OK guys here is the problem:
I was trying to root my Razr i xr890 by installing ClockworkMod Recovery, Root Package and Fastboot
I got as far as loading the CWM screen and browsing for the rom on the SD card, but for some reason the ZIP file didn’t show and I couldn’t load the rom to root it.
I therefore went to Youtube and found another link for how to root the phone, but stupidly didn’t realise this method was for Ice Cream Sandwich, and I’m on Jelly Bean.
I followed this YT tutorial all through and now I cannot boot into Android.
I get the “Warning Bootlocked unlocked screen” constantly- If I restart, that screen comes up, if I wait, that screen stays. If I hold the power button and the down button I CAN get into the recovery screen (options: Normal Powerup, Recovery, Factory, BP Tools, Switch console, Power off) but all of these options take me to the same Warning Bootlocked unlocked screen, except “recovery” which takes me to the CWM screen. However I’m completely stuck here, I have an SD card but have no idea how to recover from it, if at all, which his kind of my original problem (the zip file wouldn’t show on there to load)
I’m desperate for any advice please, the phone is 2 days old. If someone could help me get back into Android I would be so grateful. I am inexperienced at this so if someone could dumb it down for me somewhat too that would be great.
When you're in Fastboot flash your original Boot.img (JB!) back.

Hi
Thanks for the reply. I'm in the United Kingdom
Is the boot.img the recovery-razri-tryAtouch.img ? This is the only image in that folder on my PC.
How do I do this without being able to connect the phone to the pc?
http://www.mediafire.com/download/ezeufawfd2euv0w/Razr_i_[XT890]_Pillama_0.7_AOSP_Default_Kernel.zip
Flash this one through CWM or extract the Boot.img and flash it through Fastboot (like you tried to root your Phone)
Pillama uses the Retail GB JB Kernel, so you should be fine with it.
If u are in boot loader. Select an option with the volume up key! I have the feeling u are using the power button to select

I have downloaded this, I can extract it but as my PC doesn't recognise my phone as a device, I don't know how to flash the boot.img to my phone? I tried flashing through CWM but please see attached screenshot, if I try to install a zip from the SD card it simply doesn't show up in the list of files on the sd card.... am I doing something obviously wrong here?

i tried it many times, no use.... im pretty sure, that this cwm (6.0.2.8 and 6.0.3.2) are buggy
CWM
Factory reset wipe
Mount and format system
Format sdcard
Mount system again
Wipe dalvik cache
Flash ROM
Flash gapps
The problem isn't cwm(flash it again and see)
I only had a problem upgrading to 6.0.3.2
The only differences I've seen are the cwm startup and background and it takes about 1 or 2 secs longer to format system but it works flawlessly nonetheless...

Did you try loading the Motorola USB drivers? Not sure if that would help.
I immediately rooted, unlocked the bootloader, and flashed CWM 6.0.2.8 as soon as I got my new AHD and haven't had any problems with CWM in terms of flashing various roms, backing up roms, and restoring roms.
BTW, I have looked around and I could not find a method to re-lock the bootloader. How did you try to re-lock?
You can't re lock it.

First of all: Get rid of this ****ing CWM, if you have a Google Play Edition installed, this will ALWAYS **** up your system.. and you won't be able to gain root without reflashing the system, install TWRP...
Here this rom should work quite fine:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2224752 (thanks @mike1986. for providing such awesome ROMs)
Then you boot into your recovery and push the ROM you downloaded above to your device with the following command.. maybe ensure that you mounted /data in the recovery..
Code:
adb push "C:\FolderWhereRomIsStored\rom.zip" "/data/media/0/rom.zip"
And if this doesn't work properly, try this command to copy the whole folder:
Code:
adb push "C:\FolderWhereRomIsStored" "/data/media/0"
Now flash the zip and you should have a working OS.. but another advice: Before flashing, delete /data and the cache etc.. to be sure that the phone will boot correctly
I hope it helped.. if it didn't post your questions and if it worked fine, hit the thanksbutton

With clockworkmod it should work and uninstall HTC sync and install the drivers from hasoon2000 tool...
If that won't work i have no idea how to help...
