Hi I'm wondering if it is a mod to remove the dots that shows you in what desktop page you are on homescreen. I have a Xperia Z stock rom 4.2.2 (odex I think) and I'm root as well

An apk is basically a zip, so simply extract the drawable-hdpi, drawable-xhdpi and drawable-xxhdpi to a folder and browse them, when you locate the images, edit them, then drag them back into the right folders in the apk using store as the compression method, and that's as much modding as you need to do for simple mods like this.
Then just copy the apk back to your Phone, copy permissions etc, done. Install another launcher first whenever you're editing one as a bad mod without a backup launcher can be a pita.

Install another first, remove the stock one, install the modded one and that should do it. If it doesnt install like normal then you'll need to copy it to the system and change permissions etc. If you install the one I've uploaded wipe your dalvik cache.

Don't be afraid, you'll learn nothing that way. It shouldn't do so long as you wipe the dalvik.

Hi. How can I solve the issue of filling the gap where the dots are when placing a widget at the top of the screen?
For example, if the dots are replaced by transparent PNGs and I place a HTC One clock widget at the top of the screen, then it won't sit right under the status bar, it will leave a small gap where the holes would be.
Check the gap on the screenshot below, transparent PNGs won't remove this gap.
Any ideas?

I uninstalled the MyXperia.apk (0.0.A.0.40)
Renamed your home.apk to MyXperia.apk
Tried to install the new one you attached here (said the app is not installed)
So I copied the apk to sytem/apps
Now I pressed the home button and selected my xperia launcher
It bringed me to my normal desktop but the dots are already there
Did a Dalvik Cache clean task and it seems the same
A easy way to have no desktop dots:Advanced Xperia Z launcher.
This is a modded version of the previous 4.1.2 launcher. No root is needed and just install this as an normal app. You can turn off the dots (screen indicator) in the launcher settings (note: you can also remove the 'gap'!). However the status bar and notification bar is NOT transparent, unlike the stock launcher on 4.2.2

A tutorial on how to remove the dots and reclaim some lost real estate top and bottom would be good. Likewise for the app tray. Hell even a rough idea of which xmls to edit would suffice. Sure we could just install 3rd party launcher but where's the fun in that?

I read the ADB guide this morning. It's a good start.
When you've pulled the apps all you've gotta do is:
- Rename the .apk to .zip
- Edit the images in "res" found in the .zip folder
- Drawable is the folder names you're looking for
- Copy and replace the edited images
- Rename from .zip to .apk
- Push the .apk to your phone
Trust me. It's not hard. Give it a couple of hours and you'll be good.

I use LauncherPro. You can find it at marked.
The clock widget is "Digital Clock Widget"
The weather widget is "Yr" weather widget. You can find it at marked.
Here is the background
To get the weather app transparent i used a flashable called "REVOlution Transparent Apps".
If you search using the search tool you should find it.

Yeah, most probably it's in XML, but XML files are compiled to binary form, so you have to decompile them before modding. Use apktool (my signature) or Apk Manager.

Digital Clock Widget by Maize uses the system font - In the screenshot in the 1st post I'm using "Comfortaa" font.

and to everyone, if u want to use this but dont know how, just follow this tut, untill OP updates in main post :good:
1. flash emanon
2. keep the above theme in sd-card
3. boot into recovery
4. mount system
5. choose this zip and flash it
6. after flashing wipe cache
7. wipe dalvik cache
8. reboot and enjoy the theme..
Since it is a flashable zip, I thought it doesn't need additional guiding.
Wiping cache and dalvik-cache isn't necessary because android detects that the apk's are different at boot and reoptimizes them.

No, it doesn't work. Emanon is stock odexed and has some framework modification. The Emanon mods are not compatible with other roms.

You need Apk Multi Tool to handle the apk file. You can find it here:
APK Multi Tool Download
After you set up the multi tool, place the Mms.apk in the place-apk-here-for-modding folder, run the Script.bat from the main folder and choose 9 to decompile the apk.
You will find the decompiled apk in the projects folder.
Make any changes you want then compile the apk by choosing 11.
PS: When you edit the .9.png files you have to be careful not to edit the black edges of the pictures.

I modded most of the pngs (message bubbles, backgrounds, headers etc.) and edited some of the colors and dimensions in values/colors and in layout/
I don't remember every xml I edited.
I remember modding:

Yes, I know. This is the only bug I can't repair. The "black on black" occurs only in the power menu and very very rarely in some other menus of some apps. I don't know how to fix that.

Ok so I've copied the modded framework-res.apk to /system/framework and I've named it framework-res.apk.mod. I've changed the permissions to rw-r-r so now if I use Root Explorer and rename it to framework-res.apk will it work?

Using root explorer, move framework-res.apk to system folder. Set the right permission and then move to framework folder and overwrite the old framework-res.apk.
Copy the phone, conversation and setting apk to system folder. Set the right permissions for all the apk and then move to app folder and overwrite the old apk.
Reboot and you are done.

Ok did everything, by the book I think but I get contacts FC message when launching phone. But I can launch contacts and get black contacts with circle icons. But if I select phone, even from within contacts, it FCs. Any ideas what could have gone wrong? I'm running RomAur v8

for text edits , when i ported in Xperia P , the fix is remove two png´s in drawable/Xhdpi/ or XXhdpi/ who are in conflicts with new .xml files related to textEdit of course
for checkbox animations is more dificult .... needs some modification in framework.jar . hope this help

for some reason i think apktool don´t compiling well the XML with checkable´s things......... you need use original files never decompiles from Xperia i1 port for ICS or My port for JB also in XP XU Xgo theme & app sections......... for use them need change some ID in publics to match with resources inside from this f****eds XMLs

why? is it hard to copy to system for a while,set permission then move to framework folder

Some apk related to system are more sensible & IS recomended to install by cwm or twrp

i just copy paste it to system then move it to fr folder..its ok..i dot get any bootloop..but i still have stock icon in setting

I couldn't get it to work. I'm on.244 but I see that's the problem. So that's why I asked. Not because it's too hard to copy to system. Haha. Nice attitude dude

No worries! I really want i1 mod for email, message and calendar in particular and can't find it I flashed MonxDified but it has the calendar with the tabs on top for day, week, month. I want the i1 calendar with the drop down for day, week, month and the latest i1 mods. And the messaging with the i1 talk bubbles etc. Seems hard to find these on. 244

As you may notice that the theme for Heat and Silk are mixed up even though it was originally pulled from the Z2 firmware. Thus, I will release a V2 soon to fix it.
As for the task killer, it's totally transparent because of my modded systemUI as I set it to 100% transparency. So my best guess originally it would be either fully black or 40% transparency.
Lastly, Xperia Z stock blue theme(Air) and black theme(Xperia Light) and are not replaced so they may look like there are copies and some dissapeared because stock Z2 has only 6 themes.
The following zip file contains:
BlackThemeBlueAccent.apk (Now Air, originally Xperia)
GreenTheme.apk (Earth)
PinkTheme.apk (Heat)
PurpleTheme.apk (Silk)
Skin1.apk (Vintage)
Last but not least, ExperienceFlow2LiveWallpaper.apk
Instructions:
Reboot into recovery
Flash zip file
Reboot and enjoy!
For the TaskKiller.apk, you have to move it to system/app and set it to rw-r--r--

Yeah, it dissapeared because it replaces the original themes, and you're left with Xperia Z stock blue theme(Air), black theme(Xperia Light) and orange theme (Sunny). That's why you think they are duplicates but they are not.
Edit: My bad, there's still orange theme which I overlocked XD sorry! So only stock blue theme(Air) and black theme(Xperia Light) are not replaced.

Install this stock SystemUI and set permissions (backup current SystemUI)
Install task killer and set permissions
Should work after you've done that

How come you cant install it? Try pushing the files to system/app and set the right permissions

Hey man, thanks bro. Anyway, tried the new 4.4 home launcher? I reduced the api level so that our 4.3 devices can use it but it just doesn't play nicely, there's this ghost status and nav bar. I tried to set the status and navigation bar offset to zero in dimens.xml. Same thing =/. So, just wondering, ya have any idea how to fix it? XD
I thought the task killer button is placed at the bottom in the center from the screenshots doomlord provided @@

Er, give me your systemui.apk, framework-res.apk and semcgenericuxp.apk. Make sure they are deodexed. I will give you aosp nav bar lol
