Hi xda community. I'm running android 4.2.2 (not the newest one) and using DoomKernel, rooted as well. I noticed today that I can't record videos. The videos freezes every 2 seconds and then it plays normal and then it freezes again. I don't know why is this happening. I used the original camera app and the Google Nexus Camera app and the videos are recorded in a very low FPS. Does anybody knows what's happening?

I wish i could have tried that. I decided to roll back to stock fw with stock kernel and relocked the bootloader. Everything is fine now

Trying it
Indeed faster. On 2.2.1. I imagine it would be even faster on 2.3
All works here on darky's 9.3....seems a bit faster!
OMG smooth 720p flash videos with this one !
Just incredibly slow with 10.1.. A big leap indeed
anyone able to add the apk?
Yep, it's working much smoother for me on Darky's 9.3. It drains substantially more battery though...

**EDIT - green screen on JV1**
Works nicely on CM7
Android 2.3.3.
Quite a performance increase, used to have a problem working the controls on embedded videos. Haven't tried any hd yet..
Since .245 my screen goes black when watching movies. Screen doesn't time out but just goes black. As soon as I touch the screen the video comes back.
Already reinstalled ROM but problem stays.
Tried different video players but no difference.
Tried screen forced on apps but doesn't work since screen doesn't time out but just goes black.
Any ideas?

Hi,
I got myself an xperia Z1, was wondering that if I rooted my phone.. would I have the camera not working issue? and also I read that there is with custom roms.Would there be a future fix? Is this solely with Sony or would the xda devs. find a work around in getting it fixed? want to know before rooting the phone
rooting does not break the camera

I would suggest to download some other camera apps in play store... it takes a while for developers to figure out how to make the stock camera work better...
when I got the xperia S, I was pretty disappointed with the camera as well... then I installed a few playstore apps, 1. camera zoom fx - probably the best all around camera. 2. HDR Camera - best HDR camera app imo... really made taking pictures with Xperia S a wonderful experience

Weird fact, i've Just try with the 3 modes (auto, manual 720p &1080p) no more audio recording lag... Maybe a random issue because this happen a few times. But at this moment it work I don't know why. I'll come back if this persist or if someone have the same issue =)

I don't know how baseband can improve the quality recording, are you sure about that? I know the baseband is the Radio Package for Z1 like Bluetooth, Network and WiFi.
Give it a try if there was no problem in older version then may be its the same issue with the baseband

Hi. I recently started using my p880's camera a lot, and what I found out is that no matter I chose 720p, 1080p, MPEG4 or H264, my phone kept recoding videos at 22 fps, which is really low. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought this phone records 1080p 30fps. This could be an isssue of the ROM that I'm using, but I'm not sure... I'm currently using CM11 Nightlies .
Do you guys think that it's the ROM that causes that low-fps issue?
Check settings
Did u check the setting may be camera is not on best settings or change the mode to ╰sports´ mode it will record in higher fps or download another camera app like LG camera app it will help
First of all, there is no sport mode in CM11, unless I'm blind . Secondly I tried messing around with the settings. Turned HDR on and off, but no changes on the framerate. Finally the lgcamera, does not make a difference, unfortunately... :/
