[Q] Xperia Z led indication, water recovery operation - Xperia Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys,
I think I have a new Xperia Z situation to report:
After getting water into the USB port and spending a few days drying out the phone, I now get symptoms cannot find in any other XDA thread:
- When I hold volume button UP while connecting the USB port, it quickly flashes RED and then stays BLUE, also after releasing the volume button. When I disconnect the cable the LED light goes off again
- When I just connect the USB without holding any button, the LED goes RED.
- While the LED is RED, I can hold the power + volume UP buttons simultaneously and then release the power button to change to BLUE.
But regardless what I do there are no life signs in Flashtool
Other symptoms:
In the cradle, the LED has gone from RED to ORANGE to GREEN, indicating full charge. But when connecting the charger directly to the USB port it just flashes 1x RED and 1x GREEN sub-second before it goes off. So it seems it doesn't charge through the USB port but only through the cradle.
The phone is turned off and does not react to the power button. Have pressed power, and power + volume up button, but without the usual vibration responsiveness.
I have tried to connect to the phone using Flashtool. Following tips from other threads I've tried both latest version & Beta 4, Multiple USB ports, etc.
But the phone never gets identified through the USB port.
The phone should be 100% dry now after multi-day rice bag + cold air hair dryer treatments. But I'm afraid I might have I tried to force it back on too early, perhaps before all water was out...
Still with the LED indicator showing a little sign of life, would you say there's a chance to rescue it?
All ideas and advice much appreciated.

The water might of caused a short circuit somewhere in the phone which has caused the bugs so drying it might not repair the damage, how long has the phone been dry for? Hopefully some1 has had the same issues and solved it somehow.

[Q] Htc one flashing red light, will not turn on

My Htc one switched off after running out of battery a week ago and now will not turn on. When its on charge the led light at the top would just flash red, I've had it plugged into two different wall chargers for more than a day each but none would do the trick and I've also done all the other things I saw on other threads like shining it under a bright light whilst holding down the volume down and power button ect... , and repeatedly pressing the power button. Also when I connect it to my laptop it makes the noise that I've plugged it in but it will not pick it up :crying: Can someone please help me out here with any methods/ways of getting my phone to switch on and connect to my laptop (my phone is rooted and I can't send it back)
Thanks in advance! :fingers-crossed:

[Q] Broken Xperia Z

Hi everyone!
4 days ago i washed my phone for about 10 seconds, phone worked normally. After 1 hour i saw water went into both front and back camera. I got out all flaps and after some hours cameras were functional again. After even more hours buttons started to act weird. Sometimes power button wasn't working, sometimes volume up was acting like power button and so on. I tried to restart the phone, sometimes it went into safe mode(probably volume button was pressed by itself). Finally I couldn't start the phone at all(perhaps the power button stopped working at all).
After that i calmed down and put my phone into rice(hoping that would absorb water if any). After 24 hours i had no luck. When i had connected my phone to computer, the led was red, phone vibrated 3 times and then again and again.
Next step was to open the phone( removing the back with a hairdryer), took out the battery and trying to dry the phone with hairdryer. Still no succes. When connecting to PC and start flashtool, my phone wasn't recognised. I installed Sony Update Service (SUS) and then when i connected my phone i heard that sound you often hear when connecting a new device to an USB port. Now my phone is seen by flashtool, but it's always in fastbootmode. I even flashed CWM and it worked.
The problem is that it seems volume up is pressed always so i can't enter in flashmode to flash 4.4.2, it always goes into fastboot.
When on battery the phone is dead at all. Still when i try to charge the phone, it starts, displays Sony logo then shows that it's charging (at first that battery was empty but after 2 hours it got full charged). If i press power button it shutdown.
To resume, when on battery nothing happens( the battery could be dead). When plugged to wall charger the phone starts charging( so battery could work). Power button does nothing at all when on battery, but works when phone is charging or when connected to PC in fastboot.
If anyone had any idea what I could do I would be very appreciative. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask me.Thank you very much for your support!

Even if i down't press anything, just connect the phone to usb, led is blue, that means it's in fastboot mode...so i think volume up is stuck, pressed.

or the volume pcb might have shorted
Please remember this for the rest of your life:
When you notice that water has went into your device.... TURN IT THE F OFF AND LET TIT DRY...
Using it while it's wet from the inside is really bad.
Update Guys
Today I've replaced that yellow connector that contains power, vol up and vol down buttons. I managed to enter flashmode and flashed the newest official rom .233. Power button and vol up work like charm, vol down is dead.
The problem is that my phone is stuck on safe mode(probably because vol down is stuck). I want to know if there's any solution to get rid of this safe mode. I read somewhere that changes can be made to the kernel so that vol down will be disabled for ever. If you know any ROM, any mod, whatever that disables the vol down button i'll appreciate your help.

Moto XT1095 not booting after repair.

I stupidity pulled the back off my moto x last week and snapped a ribbon cable that connects the volume and power buttons to the main board.
I ordered anew one and installed it but now Only a green LED shows. I've left it on charge over night but still nothing happens. I've tried plugging it into the PC and I've tried holding down the Power button with the Volume down button, but to no avail.
This is where it gets odd. If I disconnect the ribbon connection I just installed it is briefly recognised by the PC and it lights up showing the charge screen. This stays on for about 5 seconds the it goes black again. Does anybody have any ideas? I've ordered another a new connection to check if the one I got was faulty.
Thanks,
Murraynt
Anybody have any ideas?
Sounds like you've broken a solder connection.

Its nothing too do with power ribbon, check battery connection seems like its shorting with each other, if power button or ribbon is faulty it should charge when plug into charger.. Green light may also shows when bootloader gets bricked.. But as you said you pull battery cable didnt affect bootloader, in what state you pulled it out? If it was during flashing then... :/
I received my new ribbon cable today and my phone booted up! It could just be a coincidence, but its working!

Xperia T2 dual D5322 is not switching on

Hi Team,
My phone ran into sudden death and not coming back on. The battery was more than 40%. I tried many solutions like hard booting(holding power button + volume up), keeping it on charging for hours. But none worked.
When I connect my phone to the wall charger the red LED comes up. I read one solution where I need to connect the phone to charger and then try to hard boot it. But that only makes red LED blinks once. The phone didn't got on.
Can you please help?
Thanks

Xperia X Performance - Bricked maybe? Help needed

Hey all,
I recently got an Xperia X Performance that was sold to me as faulty.
At first I thought it was the battery as it wouldn't charge (No LED) and holding Vol + Power did nothing.
I got a new battery, installed it and won't turn on.
When I plug it into the AC Adapter, no LED comes on.
If I hold Vol+ Power it vibrates once, then 3 times and depending on how long I hold it for (Could be 10 seconds, could be a minute) it might do that cycle again.
If I let go at a certain point I have able to:
Have a Red LED constantly on, even when the USB is not connected.
Have a Green LED constantly on, also when the USB is not connected. (PC Won't recognize either)
And the Sony Logo flashes up on a white screen for a split second and turns off and then it's dead again.
Note: The phones motherboard does get warm when I have one of the LEDs on. So something is going on.
I tried using the Xperia Companion to repair it (Like I did with many Z phones back in the day when they did similar things and that always worked) - this one doesn't work at all. PC Doesn't detect it.
Tried on a Win 7 and Win 10 system, both no avail.
When I took the back cover off the phone, someone has used, what I thought to be super glue to seal it shut.
And the OG battery was loose inside the phone before I replaced it.
So I am thinking, either it's bricked or just completely dead.
Have yet to check with a multimeter on the USB port but I believe it is working.
If anyone has any suggestions, or maybe some sort of help - I have only seen this issue with the older Xperia Z phones. Help is needed!
Thanks heaps!
