I tried going back to stock with the RUU in one of the how-to videos posted on here. I have done it before no problem but this time when I plug my device into my computer I get this sound.
http : //youtu.be/ 5L9HIh_V0FE
(sorry unable to posts videos so I had to split it up)
I'm not sure what it means all my drivers are installed correctly but ADB won't recognize my phone and I can't go back to stock.
My computer recognizes the phone when it's fully on but not when on the bootloader.
I'm not sure exactly what is happening so any help is appreciated.
Have u tried installing htc sync?

It means it isn't recognizing your device. Use the all in one tool found in the Sprint HTC ONE forum to reinstall drivers.

Don't do this with Hansoons Kit. it is worthless. Just install HTC sync as it includes the proper drivers.
What version of Windows? If it's windows 8, that's your problem.

Windows 8 has worked with a lot of people for drivers, so that shouldn't be it, however I have the same issue with fastboot and Windows 8 :crying:
Try Windows 7.

Windows 8 works that's what I use for my pc. Windows 8.1 is the one having issues since they have to update the drivers for it

Ur welcome, glad to hear it works.
I was following the tutorial for removing Carrier IQ from the Vivid, and needed the Windows drivers. This is for a friend, and I don't want to install the entire 150MB HTC Sync crap. I got them to install it and here are the drivers alone, only 1MB each (Win7, Windows XP).
Hope someone finds them helpful.
Thank you. These will be great for those of us with slow connections and prefer a light impact on storage
Thanks for this, I always kept drivers in a folder on my rd card if I needed to access my phone through someone's pc

I can't thank you enough. I live in Cuba and use a dial up connection (there's no alternative). I can not even download the All-In-One toolkit since is 25 mb. So Light downloads make my day.

Try the XP 32 bit driver he posted. It should work for Vista.
Hey, I don't know if anybody is still looking at this thread or not (I was), but when trying to install the drivers on a new Windows 7 computer, the Windows 7 drivers didn't work, but then I tried the Windows XP drivers and those worked fine. Just an fyi for anybody that might be having issues.

If the Windows 7 driver didn't work, perhaps you are not on a 64bit OS.

Welcome to moonshine S-OFF. Enjoy.
Important windows notes:
1.) make sure htc sync is uninstalled
2.) make sure adb and fastboot drivers are working
3.) make sure htc sync is uninstalled
4.) if you are having problems with fastboot, try a usb 2.0 port.
5.) make sure htc sync is uninstalled
6.) make sure other programs that interfere with and fastboot are uninstalled (PDANet, Kies, etc.)
7.) make sure htc sync is uninstalled
8.) if you use a third party firewall, be sure to grant access to distiller.exe as it checks for updates
9.) MAKE SURE HTC SYNC IS UNINSTALLED
10.) YOU MUST UNZIP THE ARCHIVE BEFORE RUNNING DISTILLER. DO NOT JUST TRY TO RUN IT FROM THE ARCHIVE.

Use a live ubuntu CD. Done.
Your install issue is probably caused by ur video card/driver. There is usually a non-graphical or standard vga install mode. The live CD is ur best bet tho.

Quick question. Does doing this wipe your phone if you're using ViperRom?
So, both firmware links on the download page are for same firmware version .10
Can this procedure be done while on CM 10.1? If so, what firmware do we choose?
Thanks!
Edit: I'm guessing not since the links only show the two HTC ROM versions...Oh well...
Can some one post a video?or confirm this works?never had s off and really would like to experiance full root

Windows 8 seems to be working fine for me. ADB finds my phone and I can use fast boot commands. What problems do other people have?
Sent from my Vivid 4G using xda app-developers app
fastboot commands work, but adb commands do not. Windows will not recognize my HTC One, no matter what drivers I install. I am unable to update the drivers for the device in device manager (it appears as "One" under other devices). btw, the phone has no ROM installed. Will this create problems when trying to recognize the device in Windows?
Thanks!

Adb only works within a working os or in recovery.
If you PC is not recognizing fastboot/adb drivers, install them from here
http://koush.com/post/universal-adb-driver
and also read here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=52135024&postcount=2
You can push or sideload a custom ROM to your phone in recovery.

My pleasure, that's how we all learn... reading, sharing knowledge, understanding it. We're all born sort of ignorant (at least most of us ) and learn along the way.
Keep up the good job!! :good: :good:
