Guys,
I've deleted some apk and bloatware from my bionic to get some space...
I've observed that there is a folder called 'preinstall' on root and same is also linked in system folder as well...
This folder is currently empty and it has free space of around 250 mb ...
My question is how do I utilize this space by installing few apks...??? I tried almost everything but no luck...
If I copy apk to system/app folder it shows in app drawer... but same is not happening with /preinstall folder...
Any guidance will be appreciated...

How did you determine that the folder had that free space?
Are you using a file manager or the shell prompt? If you type df you will see the size of everything that is mounted. What does it show?

I run the Bamfs 1.5 debloated rom and hate accessing my widget list menu because there are to many choices. The debloated rom doesn't collapse the widgets for the same app. This app linked below takes care of the problem.

Please read instruction. This should help. And remember it doesn't work on the stock sense launcher but works for launcher pro and others like it.

You renamed the file (appwidgetpicker.apk), placed it into /system/app, and checked the permissions (sorry for the alignment, it just won't line up for me):
xxxxxReadxxxWritexxxx Execute
User xxX xxxxxX xxxxxxxxo Group X xxxxxxoxxxxxxxx o
Others Xxxxxxx o xxxxxxxxo
(X = checkmark, o = blank)
And then rebooted? That worked perfectly for me using Root Explorer set to r/w.

Fyi, if you do this, be sure to NOT "install" the apk after you copy it. If you do, there may be problems. It also takes a reboot to begin working.

Find a boot animation that's less than 2.13 MB (that's what your screenshot shows as being available). You could also try having less apps in your system...

I moved my apps to sd and it freed up some memory

Moving your apps to SD doesn't do a thing for /system partition. It's only relevant for /data partition. And bootanimation sits on /system partition.
As suggested, move some of your system apps to /data, and/or uninstall some to free space. If the phone says "not enough space available" - the first thing to check would be just what it says, it might be right
i've managed to find some Markets for the salsa which you can change once u have root access.
Non of these are made by me and were sourced from the XDA forums awhile ago. credits due to the owner!
To change these use Root Explorer available from the Market
Inside the folders are the market styles in zip form you can change to.
Instructions for replacing with a new style.
open zip file you want
in the folder will be 3 files
data /app/ com.android.vending-1.apk
META-INF
system /app/ Vending.apk
you need to copy from the data & system folder and paste them into /data/app and change the permission to this

"lightbox_new_window": "New window",

}
then also copy same files into /system/app and paste in there
again change permissions to above image.
Reboot your phone to engage the new market.
In the the link below is a small amount of different coloured markets as most have disappeared off-line now.
There is an original copy in this zip file if you wanted original back again.
Markets.zip
Yeah I did answer

Download one from market, like es file manager, really any will do. Just search file manager.

Coming from WM, I used to love total commander. They have a version that will run on android. It's not in the market place so you have to goto their site to download it. Just change the application setting to allow installation of non market apps.

Follow the above directions and get a file manager. From there you'll find the external sd under /sdcard/_ExternalSD.

Hello, I have recently installed the twrp recovery, but when I tried to do a backup it give me an error about a path that can't be read. That path refer to the Facebook folder in /data/data/facebook-katana.
There is one file ( 6-lxk7_g5koNUrLwO82eQTzq6_w.cnt ) that can't be deleted. I tried with several file manager, like solid explorer, es file manager and the file manager from rom toolbox. Same result from the picture that I will post in this thread.
Also tried to go in recovery and use the recovery built in file manager to delete that file, but same results. How can I solve?
Here's the pic.

Thinking off the top of my head, this may not work:
Download a terminal emulator from play store.
Enter the following commands, one after each other:
"su"
"cd data/data/facebook-katana"
"rm 6-lxk7_g5koNUrLwO82eQTzq6_w.cnt"
It may not work, but try it anyway!
Do post your results.
