unless you love facebook or twitter and update every minutes, u can delete social engine
and xperia share, i guess it's for NFC, should not uninstall it

Thanks for the reply I will probably keep it then lol, what does it do with nfc though? I removed other things like xperia facebook and installed normal facebook because I don't like the apps that come with the phone lol I prefer the stardard ones, I also removed xperia facebook photo sharing I don't get why I would need this stuff I can still share photos with the normal facebook is that what it's for, is all the add on "xperia" just for "xperia" facebook and not stock (normal) facebook? lol

it's for transfering file, pictures through nfc, i disabled is and i couldnt use nfc

We have some facebook addons in /system/apps...they are only for example showing facebook-messages in phonebook contacts
EDIT: I usually delete these apps too...

PREREQUISITE: to have Timescape installed.
the xperia events is actually more "FUNCTIONAL" and "USEABLE" than the timescape (i feel TS is primarily a show-off )
flash the TS zip from my other thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1471578) & then
just install the attached apk normally
the menu shown with much space below is a problem with the theme i am using with zeus. won't be there in yours.

FOR ZEUS SPECIFICALLYdelete the TimeScapespline.apk to remove Timescape and use the WIDGET along with XPERIA EVENTS
Edit 2:New custom background Xperia Events Availabe. looks WAYYYYY better. check out the screenies

for getting ONLY EVENT STREAM "WITHOUT" TIMESCAPE in app drawer and the timescape widget,
delete the following under /system/app
1. the unneeded plugins (like i deleted the EventStreamPluginK9Mail.apk as i don't use k9 mail)
2. TimescapeSpline.apk (for removing timescape from app drawer)
3. TimescapeWidget.apk (for removing the widget) if you WANT to use a widget with xperia events, do not delete this. it will sync just fine with XPERIA EVENTS
u can use this app while using other home apps like the LG HOME

if you flashed the timescape zip, the B.E.mod is incorporated in it.
u sure using "XPERIA EVENTS" from my 1st post of this thread and STILL getting glitches??!!!!...delete the apps mentioned in the 2nd post, reboot and see if the problem persists.
ALSO: please upload a screenshot with the grahics problem with XPERIA EVENTS. it'll help me in sorting out.
i had problem with Timescape on ZEUS, but never had a problem with the XPERIA EVENTS.
xperia events are working..but the timescape tiles are still glitchy! and i prefer timescape!:$

then u gotta wait. i'll try to get TS working in ZEUS after some time. currently, am thinking of dirtying my hands with my iphone4 a bit . it's not even jailbroken. lol

GUYS....XPERIA EVENTS can be usaed as a standalone app with SNS integration.
XPERIA EVENTS is pretty light and has a nice interface. collecting all your social feed in one nifty place is very cool according to me.

i phone is not all bad. i btw neglect the cell so much that it's not even jailbroken in 6 months. i use it just for calling &messaging....nd NO, i never had the DEATH GRIP issue.

follow 2nd post & delete the Timescape app. it'll be lighter on your system. having two apps doing the same thing is

u can try 1 thing though, don't delete the TimescapeWidget.apk and use it as a widget for the XPERIA EVENTS. ..it'll work just fine

yes...because TIMESCAPE is NOT installed
this is the xperia events port exclusively done by me, which uses the same skeleton framework as TIMESCAPE.
actually the timescape UI that you see is the app called "timescapespline" and in xperia events, it is NOT installed (since ZEUS is having graphical problem with it).
xperia events CAN use the timescape widget just like normal, so i kept it.
but the upper icon is to open the timescape app and will not work with xperia events.

no extenstion are showing eg fb or call log or sms in xperia events , i do not get force close just a home button on the screen . other then timescape what else do you need instaled as minimum for xperia events to work ?

sorry for replying late...u can find the apps @ /system/app and the respective folders as the provided zip. just use any root file manager and delete them.
BUT u don't NEED to delete timescape for installing XPERIA EVENTS. if you are having the graphical glitch, please delete the TimescapeSpLine.apk and you would be good to go

u need the "event streams" (the main app, the eventstreams 'extensions' as given and the spline to get the xperia events going) and also can use the generic timescape widget to get the xperia events notification on your homescreen.

Facebook are said to be working on an android app! Until then I recommend using a browser to view Facebook and FaceUp to share pictures to Facebook. That's what I did on my SGSI. Now I have a Note II and Facebook is pretty fast.

I kinda backed away from the facebooks quite a bit..
but I do still have the app 'Klyph" on my phone.
Now that is a pretty sweet fb alternative.

Now Atrium has an ad-free version and it's one of the best facebook alternatives on Android. I'm using it and turned off notifications successfully!
The only option it's missing is the group chat i think.

The only reliable and safe alternative that I have found so far is to use http://mbasic.facebook.com — it is the static lightweight old-school interface designed for old pre-smartphone era phones. You can also use it to access the 'text-mode' version of the fb messenger. Since the pages are static you'll need to refresh the page to get updates.
Another way to access the fb messenger without installing the android app would be using firefox with an extension for changing the user agent to that of a desktop browser (the native option Request Desktop Version does not work in this case).

Sorry for the stupid question, but i made some mods of my Xperia Z1 and im in doubt now if its changed, im not sure if before it was written the whole name or it was like now?

as my z1 is has a broken screen i cant upload you a photo but yes. I had this apps in the drawer too. AR effect came in there after updating it from play store. and I had this problem with iHackers 4.1 . ar effect voice baloon, and ar effect separated apps and even 4K and timeshift video where all in the drawer so dont worry dude. not a big deal

sorry for delay and as I broke my z1's screen and i'm not using it for now, i have to relay on my memory. and as i remember "Voice Balloon" was on my drawer

I've tried using it (Go to settings>accounts>add account>Xperia with facebook) it loads for a while but it returns to the menu and nothing happens. I wondered if it changed because I just checked it out a few days after flashing a new stock ROM.

It is nothing special. You just press "Like" to sony mobile page on Facebook and it synchronizes your Facebook events with your Calendar and viceversa. That's all it does.

This feature bloat is completely pointless. On stock ROM, this is one of the many things I remove from my device. If you're going to share on Facebook, use the website.

Actually no. It does upload facebook photos in a much higher quality than uploading it directly on the facebook. (at least when it worked) Have you ever tried it though, did it work on your stock rom?

Facebook compresses your uploaded images regardless of what platform you use - Android app, IOS app, Sony app, website, etc. It doesn't make sense how the Xperia extension somehow uploads a higher quality than through the website. Besides, if the extension is truly hit-and-miss like you said, why are you still using it?

I'll admit, I've never tried it. However, I used GNOME Facebook integration that works similarly to the Xperia plugin on the Linux desktop. Long story short, it was littered with problems, so I just use the website. No issues so far.

I meant to say it did the job when it was still working before Lollipop or this version, plus it did more than that, like sync contacts and whatever although I did not really put it into much use.

I was just concerned about certain functionality, I was worried I might find abnormalities or loopholes from the fresh and pure firmware I downloaded.

Hello all,
As I use Google hangouts for SMS since a very long time, I have removed the default sony SMS app.
But now Google decided to remove SMS functionality from hangouts, so I would like to put back the default app.
I should have made a backup before removing but sadly I didn't.
Could someone please share the Sony app? It isn't available on play store...

With all respect, download 2gb and installing some program to open the file, for 1 app is not really the simplest solution. I had hoped that someone would be so kind to open his file explorer, browse to the apk and click "share".

In that case I might have some old version in mind and have never used this one, I must have removed it instantly when I installed existenz then.
