I don't think you quite understand this app.
That time up top that I'm pretty sure you're reading isn't your wakelock time (in fact, your wakelock time seems to be pretty low as far as power consumption goes). It's the amount of time that the app has detected you've been off the wall (since it doesn't record statistics until you go off the wall).
Your battery life is basically at the upper ceiling of someone using a smartphone as a smartphone. I don't quite see why you're still complaining about battery life, especially after people pointed out you were fine in your last thread on this.

Are you fing kidding me?
30% drain over 11 hours? With 1 hour screen time? Your awake time is literally like 2 mins more than your screen time. There us NOTHING wrong with your battery stats or your battery life.
Unless you're using your phone in Airplane mode and disabling Google Now.

The one that says awake time.
Some friendly advice: Read a LOT before you mod your phone in any way.

Yeah, tell them it's their policy to work on rooted phones or just flash a rom.zip if you're s-off.
I used to get that error with certain charging cables. Bought a good cable. Made sure I plug into a real outlet rather than a usb port on pc. All is well. That error is totally common with sub par charging cables.

Yup... never use the USB port on your computer (500 mAmps) and never use a sub-standard and LONG usb cable (always keep the usb cable length to the minimum you need)...

It wasn't from the cable 100% I'm not an idiot lol it happened just a few days after installing the illusion rom... It was never fixed even when I unrooted the thing it would still do it although it worked fine for one day and went right back to draining a percent a min so anyway sprint gave me a new one

So for the last 2 days before work, I would charge my phone completly to 100%. I work at 4am and it would be 99%....ok forward ahead 2-3 hours, ill check my phone and its at 20%. I've already check tsk manger both days but I only leave panda firewall running and alarming!
Is this defective battery? Or something else? Any ideas.

Do you have an extra battery to test with or just the one? If you have two batteries, it would be easier to diagnose whether the first battery is defective based on how fast the second battery drains. It might be worth borrowing a friends or buying one on amazon. You can get the OEM battery for relatively cheap nowadays (<$20)
Also depending on how long you have had your phone for you can call T-Mobile up and complain. I did this and got a free 2nd battery. Just tell them you have already gone through troubleshooting steps by turning off gps, bluetooth, wifi, 3g, and lowered the screen brightness. Even if you are over your allowed time I'm sure if you talk right you still might get a free battery, my friend did to.

Yeah, I did this too, but that was a while ago (November or December) when it seems that T-Mobile was handing out batteries like candy to pacify all the people that were upset with battery life. I didn't know if people were still succeeding in getting a battery for free, but that is definitely worth a try first.

You might have to call them up. I don't think they will do it in the store, but again if you know how to talk anything can happen.
I'm not sure if it makes a difference or not, but when I was running Cyanogens roms above 3.6.5 I would get horrible battery readings. I'd reboot and it would says something different.
I believe its a known bug in Cupcake builds about battery readings. Cyanogen did post up a link to Android's official bug tracker but I can't remember the link by memory.
Also try calibrating your battery too and use a program like Watts to track your battery usage over time.
Also using the Open Overclocker widget is amazing, you can set the Screen Off CPU frequency, forcing the CPU to scale down when idle. I'm not 100% sure if Cyanogen's ROM does this on default or not though but I know it does do CPU scaling.
Posting here since its battery related .. ever since the upgrade to crc1 my battery charges extremely slow .. like it wont go to 100 percent in 8hrs .. but when I restart it at like 80% it will show 100, but if i leave it there long enough im sure it will keep climing slowly in percentage. Anyone else having problems like this?
Yes, it's a known bug.
Fully charge your battery then do the following.
su
rm /data/system/batterystats.bin
The battery reading will be more accurate.
Alot were right, nothing can be done in store. They pretty much shooed me away and said to call 611. Did. Told me to call HTC. Can't cause there closed lol. Anyways im going to try what Prettyboy said, but I'm turn the phone off I think to charge it fully. No extra battery though =/ They said I would have to provide a CC to get them to send an extra battery and then send the old one back.

thanks for this. but what does it exactly do??
It deletes the old battery stats file and Android creates a new one, which would be more accurately calibrated. Think of it like a battery stats reset.

Guys,
Can someone tell me what I can do to make my display act normal. it appears as though it is the killer of my battery. The phone screen hasn't been on as long as this says it has.
I am running Darch's 8/22 build of Froyo. Other than terrible batt life, it is a great ROM. Also, I have the newest colin batter tweak going. Need help!
Thanks for any ideas you can give me!
This is not a bad thing. You need to understand that you are seeing a percentage of usage so there is always going to be something that is using the majority of your battery. The nice thing is that you can visually see if your display is on and using battery power. If your phone has the screen off then most likely there is something wrong with the rom and you may want to wipe and reinstall.....or the information is being displayed improperly which again may be an issue with the rom install. Good luck

Thanks for the replies guys. Quick update, I flashed the 8/25 nightly (wow, this sucker is FASTER than all previous versions!) and was still getting high screen usage. So what I did was wipe the dalvik cache and let it reboot. I then turned on the automatic backlight tweaks under Cyanogen mod settings/user interface. I tested it last night and the battery life seems great. I have been off charger this morning since 6:55 and it is now 8:02am and I am still at 100%. I am NOT running the battery tweak either.
I will update this afternoon. Thanks!

I got my lg optimus 2x 1 month ago and i noticed a huge battery drain.I was thinking that it will work fine after 6-7 full cycles.I saw a thread in which a guy that after doing a factory reset(he had the same problems as i have) the battery will work normally.
I did that but it didn't work for me. Is this the solution?Did I do it right?Do i have to buy a new battery? I have rooted my phone yesterday so I was thinking is this a software issue? I have lg official 2.3.4 ROM. DO i need another ROM?
please.
Help me guys.
Thank you!!!
Do you leave data usage on during the night? Are your apps allowed to synch automatically? Try using airplane mode during the night (that's what I do... I don't normally get calls or messages during the night )

I don't leave wifi ,background data or 3g on,if i leave it charged at 100% at the time i got to bed,the next day when i get back from school, without using the phone my battery level is around 40%.
Using a live wallpaper? The factory reset only works because it stops the application/rogue setting from being there.
If you get 'Battery Monitor' you will be able to see what is draining you battery, and any 'wake-locks' or 'partial-wakelocks' that are stopping the phone from going into sleep mode.
look at the battery usage indicator and post a screenshot of it. Maybe the problem can be isolated.

Yes that's why I did a general test drive for two weeks on my phone before starting flashing and rooting and what not. Unfortunately our friend here has already flashed CM7 on it.
Unless he's able to restore stock software I'm affraid he won't be covered by warranty...
If he uses NVFlash he will be able to get it back to stock
Its easy to put back stock firmware if he knows wchich one he had, btw usually there is one backup on your sd card, check for it.

Hi there!
Ok so recently my Cappy has decided its going to be screwy. For some reason if I plug it in to charge, it doesn't charge, instead I get a battery drain 5-7% within about 20 mins. I've tried 5 different cables (Zip cord, walmart one, random ones I found/borrowed, one staright plug in one not usb) and 5 different chargers (car/wall plugin hybrid, apple wall charge two different computers.) and its all the same result. I can still use it as a USB no problem, moved some files around and removed and added soem photos no problem. There is no issue with the port itself (on the outside) my cover snapped off but I make sure to keep it clean.
I also have no odd battery draining I can usually get about 12-14 hours out of it. No out of place wakelocks, no apps running wild, and all my backups are on the cloud or on my laptop. Only thing I could think this is is a hardware issue. That or its just time to get a new phone. Thankfully I have an external battery charger and I've just been switching out batteries.
Any thoughts?

Does it show the charging animation? Also, when plugged to the pc, does fast charge help at all?

That's just it, I bought 2 new batteries, RavPower ones. They work great and last forever when I charge. My original battery and my cheap one off ebay do the same.
And yes it shows the charging thing, by battery monitor says it's charging and shows the different kinds like a/c or usb, everything acts as it should just no charging.
I have never tried the fast charge, I forgot I even had that. I'll give it a shot.

Also are you OC'ing or changing the Voltages? Probably won't make a difference in this issue but worth looking into. My Cappy refuses to OC at all, even at 102% it starts to act weird (System UI crashes sometimes, I lose signal, etc).

Also fast charge didn't change anything sadly. 2% lost in about 6mins. It was sitting on my bed doing nothing l

Apparently Samsung's hardware consistency control was lacking when the Captivate was made, so that's why they're so picky, which sucks for any kind of troubleshooting or development.
I wish I could get my Cappy to 110%. But try turning it back to 100% see if that changes anything. Also does this happen on multiple ROMs or just the one you're currently on (probably not the issue but hey I've seen weirder).

Got it, off-topic but any reason you haven't gone to Slim build 4? I saw slight improvement in performance on my Cappy. Was my daily driver until this morning when I flashed C-Rom v16, which for me is as fast. Just trying to get used to how big everything is compared to Slim, I liked being able to read about 7-8 messages in the messaging app, but now I can only see about 3 lol.

Anyways! I let my phone charge while off for about an hour. It was at 49% turned it back on and it was at 23% see what I mean? That's a crazy amount of juice.
Also, yeah I did play around with some other ROMs and I hated how big they all are, I like how small everything is on Slim. It just works better for me. X3

I'll try not to use it so you don't get confused. Its just habit.
I don't either. I really did see much on hardware issues that would drain it like this. I really am stumped by this.
And recently I did flash back to stock and work my way back up to Slim to see if it would help and it didn't. I didn't think to see if it would charge on stock or CM 10 but if it really came down to it I guess I could flash back to stock and play with it. Only reason I don't think it's the ROM is because to my knowledge no one else is having this particular issue.
If you have anything I can do to test or provide info just ask. I'll do whatever is needed to help figure it out. And I'd really like to as I'll have this phone for a bit longer then I thought so I'd like to see it fixed

Do you have a battery charger? Like one that you just attach the battery to, to charge it. We could then see if it's your batteries (highly doubt) or your cappy (99.999% sure).
I don't really want to suggest checking with multi-meters only because the phone internals would be exposed while it's on and if you're not used to working with hardware like that you could accidentally short something etc.
Why not make a nandroid, flash to CM10, see what happens with your battery then. That way, if you ever need to go back to your current ROM you could just restore it.

Yeah I do, it's what I've been doing to keep using my phone, I've had this problem for a month now. I think.
It was suggested I open up the phone and check the charge port, make sure it's clean, that kinda stuff but I don't want to do that unless I'm absolutely 100% sure it's not something else.
Wouldn't hurt. I'll go try it. Thanks for being so helpful. :3

Huzzah! Well, I got CM loaded, did a full wipe too. Everything looks so big. I'll report back in an hour or two. :3
EDIT
And its charging!
I guess it is in fact the ROM. Dang. I wonder why?
I'm going to see if I can get this to charge fully before bringing it to the SlimBean thread. Just to be extra sure.
EDIT
It seems to get to around 30% (31% as of now) and it just stops. It won't charge any higher. Been like that for about 45 mins.
And EDIT again. x3
Ok so I (still on CM10) couldn't get it go charge past 30% so I decided, I'm gonna poke around and I thought back on the fast charge, I wondered if it had an app, I managed to find one (Fast Battery Charging x2) and ITS CHARGING! I downloaded another app before this called Battery Mix, I love it as it has awesome battery graphs, anyways before I used Fast Battery Charging x2 it (Battery Mix) didn't have any stats on how long it would take to charge, now it does, says about 3 hrs to full, so we shall see where it goes. I don't know how the app works but I will wait and see. If this works I'll hop back to Slim and see if I can't make it work there. I don't know if it will though.
EDIT:
Got to 100%, going to flash back to Slim and see if I can't get it to charge there with the setup in CM 10 I have now, if I doesn't then I guess it must be Slim?
Edit!
Alright so back to Slim and the best I could muster is to keep my battery level the same over night. I tried using the phone for a bit and the battery drain happened again. Overnight I had nothing installed aside from gapps.
Hm...So CM10 w/ fast charge seemed to work, but when you went back to Slim the problem re-appeared? That's extremely odd. I reverted back to Slim 4.2 when C-Rom v16 was slowing down, just dirty restored and charging isn't an issue. Have you tried C-Rom v16? It's based off of Slim Rom I think.
Try it I guess, lets see if it's any other custom CM10 based ROMs. This seems like such an odd issue...

Yeah, C-Rom worked great. Charged and everything. I ended up going back to Slim due to my power button being stupid again. It goes in and out and I couldn't find an option to do volume rocker wake on C-Rom so I switched back to Slim.
Its the weirdest thing. I don't even care about fixing it anymore as just figuring out the puzzle. X3

Haha, I share that feeling. Once something is wrong and I can't figure it out, it's not even about fixing it so much as knowing WHAT was wrong. Not sure if those settings are also available on the new ROM I'm trying now (GamerzROM, oddly enough I was going to port it for the captivate this weekend but I guess the devs beat me too it). If I see them while I'm playing around today I'll shoot you a PM.
But the fact that C-ROM works great, even though it's built off Slim (I think), puzzles me completely. Have you tried any other version of Slim?

Its just so annoying as I don't know a lot but I am trying to learn.
And thanks that would be fantastic actually. I appreciate it. :3
No I haven't I've tried CM 10 stable, Avatar, Pac-ROM (very fun ROM so many settings to mess with), C-ROM, Xylon, and Slim.

Up at some thread (I dont remember which one!) I read personal observations on how reflashing to stock improved battery life.
There was also as usual a lot of people who felt it was pseudo.
Having personally done that I have seen my battery life increase by ~10% everytime I reflashed stock. Ofcourse it only worked two times, by the third there was no increment.
Recently, moving from xylon to stock I used the MAC TOOLKIT instead of the PC one.
I used to wonder how people showed 20+ hrs of battery life when my best was 15h:35m and voila, ever since I've flashed via a Mac the battery life has been simply phenomenal.
I've tried it on my wife's, dad's and sister's phone since with the same result.
I think it will help a lot of you out there who could use the extra battery life.
STEPS:
1. Go to this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2049003 => to their official website
2. From the list download: "One-Click Unroot/Restore to 4.2.2 Stock Toolkit"
3. Put phone on fastboot (TURN PHONE OFF => THEN VOL UP + VOL DOWN + POWER)
4. Let it do its thing
In just under 3 recharge cycles battery life will be 20+ hrs when moderately used.
Dont need to do the above if you're already getting ~16h in heavy use, else try.
On Mountain Lion / N4 4.2.2 (Didnt know apple products were good for something)
There is already a thread about it

IMO i dont think it really made a difference for me

This is different as I am reporting after flashing via Mac and not PC - and yes there seems to be a considerable difference in battery performance...

Makes no difference if you flash it from a Mac, a PC, Linux, or a toaster.

Pretty sure my toaster does not have an USB port, I'll double check and get back to you.
There are so many variables concerning battery life. Especially if you are just comparing uptime.
The only way this could be plausible is if your Mac infused Apple "magic" into your phone.

I get 30hrs now average with 2-3hrs of screen time and 1-2hrs of voice calls.
So this is a wash to me.

Same here, I've done it twice so far and not really seeing any difference.

I figured out that the big button on the left is the volume control.
I also figured out that there is a power button on the right side.
I'll make a separate thread with a guide.
Show the on screen time

what about flashing root stock rom? is this improve battery life too? i cant stand using android without rooting

20+ Hours? Pft. I can get 20 hours SOT... Provided I set the screen to the lowest brightness, lock the frequency to 196Mhz, and UV it to 650mV, while leaving it alone lol.
I'm interested in the on-screen time. Post it!
Typical "wipe dalvik and cache 3 times, jump up twice and put your left hand on your arse and smack it really hard to improve performance". What do you think a reflash does? Magically improves battery life by 10% each time? How do you think that's possible? Oh look, i've reflashed the phone, now i have 10% better battery life, but let's not stop there, let me reflash the phone again without even setting it up again so i can get that other extra 10% too.

If it does, let me know where you bought it. I want one!
Haha this thread is awesome. Thanks for the laughs
Dont forget to reflash via a Mac when the Mac's screen is on 27% brightness, and at 27% battery remaining, and when the Big Dipper is out in the sky facing, facing the northern hemisphere, and is at its brightest (I recommend an astral star brightness photocell tracker of some sort to confirm this. Don't worry, it'll be totally worth the money).
You want to do this process exactly 9 times, with the 9th time being accompanied by a silver USB cable that has been plated with internal gold cables. This ensures that the final 9th reflash procedure is thorough, clean, and expensive. The N4 USB port will be able to tell the difference between 1s and 0s stemming from regular copper wires vs golden wires. The 1s and 0s are brighter.
After completing the above, you want to let the phone boot up completely, and then you want to engage in a factory reset again. You must do this step 23 times. It's tedious, but it does a thorough bleaching and demagnetization of the NAND to ensure that the 82nd time and up, you'll get phenomenal battery life and insane I/O speeds that will blow even a 20-SSD RAID0 array out of the water.
After that, you must wait till the 3rd Friday of the month before you turn on and use your phone, for real. The NAND chip needs to be set just right given the electromagnetism, solar radiation, etc, to ensure that it starts with 0.000000% corrupted spots. Only then, will you get phenomenal 8+ hours of screen on time with up to 7000% battery improvement.
If you don't have a Mac, but you have a Windows or Linux machine, then you're out of luck. I recommend buying some praying incense, and spiritual money that you burn at funerals. I've been told that using those inconjunction with the steps outlined above will help alleviate the flashing errors that commonly accompany Windows/Linux users.
Trust me, this works some times, but every time.
