I have search repeatedly and tried many apps, app2sd, link2sd just to name a few, but for nothing i cannot get to move the obb data folder from the internal storage to the sd card.
If i move from the Android\obb\ folder any of the game files the game immediately stops working, if i move it back, it immediately starts working again.
Most of the premium games i play GTA, NFS, etc use this folder, which means to say i constantly have to move back and forth folder on the sd card just to play a game.
Is there any way to like create a symbolic link like pointing like from /android/obb to /sdcard1/android/obb ?
Or is there any working solution? I am not really concerned about having all my apps on the sdcard, just that one folder since it occupies allll my space. Any solution is welcome.
I am on a rooted AHD running stock AT&T JB Rom
Please any more info required just let me know.

Can you please point me in the direction of the mod that works for our AHD.
All the mods seem to have varying responses to there ability to actually work, at least from the feedback provided.
Sorry for being such a noob about it, but i followed many of the mods/guides to no avail.
Yaaaa, never mind finally found the solution using lidroid.
Yaa, now i can fill up my sd card with the obb stuff and just install the apk to the internal.
Thanks alot anyhow xda

Hello guys,
I'm sorry if this was a repeated question.
But i was wondering how we can change our default installation path on galaxy note?
Because the problem is everytime i download something from google play, its installed in the phone memory which is only around 1,5Gb
What's the use of 11Gb that we had on usb storage then? Can we somehow change the default path to usb storage?
And i don't want to use external SD card. I think that's all, thanks guys! Waiting for your respons!

11gb internal storage is called sd card. App2sd is what you need.

I've tried that and it refers to the original function of move to sd card from the application settings. And it didn't work it says couldn't move not enough storage space and its because i dont have any sd card insert.
Therefore 11Gb usb storage only useful for extended game data and photo or music?

Using App2SD you can only move some part of an app to the 11GB (called as SD card or internal SD) memory..also, you cant move each & every app, since some apps needs to be on the Phone memory (memory which shows ~2GB)..I am using App2SD to reduce the load on Phone memory..it wl b useful for apps/games, especially which r bigger in size..what I believe is the more you keep the Phone memory free, the more faster your phone will be..

That's an explanation i need.. Well i guess i just go buy an external sd card then move my apps in there. The 11Gb will only used for pictures and music then *sigh* thanks anyway mate!

its better cuz it seems like moving huge files to-from the internal storage sometimes* results in a brick

Thats a better option..buy a 32GB memory card & move all the stuffs like movies, music, photos, docs etc etc etc to it..use 2GB+11GB (in built memory) only for apps, games & their data..
Even 64GB card works on our Note, as per the below thread:

I know this is a very late reply sorry
but i wonder you were talking about moving apps 2 sd
However, i moved all apps that are movable, i have no pics, videos, music or whatsoever . Yet, the internal storage gets full very fast to extend that i can't update apps anymore
I hope during the last 4 years someone figured out a solution
my phone has a custom lollipop rom and its rooted

Its really simple ,1st you flash this recovery http://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/dl/?id=18061 , then you https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24499762635999029 install this trought this new installed recovery , and you now have 6gb memory for installing apps, and 7gb on sdcard0
data=6gb (means +4gb for apps)
sdcard0=~7gb (means -4gb from the stock size)

You need app for that. Search threads little, I didn't use it - but heard it is possible.
It's called directory bind. There is an app for that but does require root.

you can use this mod for swap that 4Gb partition with your mircrosd card so then you will have internal mem 2gb; usb mem(sdcard) xGb and external mem (extsd) 4gb http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=36613948&postcount=1017 use the changed mem
for restoring the original partitions use the original mem
just flash them in recovery mod
P.S. if you wanna save your all apps/games move all to internal mem then copy the Android/data and Android/obb (if exist) to tha microsd card then you can flash the changed memory mod

Brocky2011 told you what to do. You must root phone anyway. No other ways that that two provided here. That app, or this swap places of internal and external memory.
For ROOTING
-JB you can use this ---> single way
-GB you can use this --> method 1 metod 2
Use GL to SD(free in play)
this is already rooted before
Try uninstalling, pasting data again and then installing the app

can u give ne your screenshot where the data is located?
This has been posted around other forums before but I found it highly useful.
As we all know, saving music off line on Play Music saves it in internal storage. If you want alot of offline music (like me) and are all in with googles music, this sucks getting it on your ext sd card.
Use Root Explorer.
Create a folder on your ext SD named GoogleMusic, MusicCache, whatever.
Long press that folder and select create link.
navigate to /data/data/com.google.android.music/files and paste the link.
Delete the /music folder that is already there.
Rename your link to music.
Now open your Play music app and press menu and select offline music. the amount available at the bottom should be representative of your sd card free space.
You WILL lose any off line music already stored, you will have to download it again.
you may need to clear app data first.
Enjoy guys:good:
when i try to create the link it says "link failed operation not permitted"
in using root explorer.
Obvious response here, did you make sure its mounted rw in root explorer?

Make sure it is mounted rw, if it doesn't work for you ROM Toolbox can do it too, except it calls it a shortcut.
yea i tried both i guess i cant do it it says in rom toolbox "Please note that many SD cards and some other file systems do not support symbolic links"

That's weird.
You're doing it wrong. You create the link on your EXT SD card and then paste it in /data/data etc. NOT ON YOUR INTERNAL SD CARD.

Yes, you can. That is the whole point of Foldermount. It links the files you moved to their original location, so the game works as normal.

Basically you have to install folder mount open it (of course), grant super user access, click list of pairs on top, click apps analyser (which is spelt - analyzer), here it will show you a list of apps with the biggest size first so click the one you want to link to the sd card, here it will show you maybe the data and obb and you have to click create pair on the right hand side, it will take a minute or so for it to do, it will show you in the notification bar anyway, once done go back once and click apps analyzer again at the top and then click list of pairs here you will see the list of linked apps with a drawing pin on the right hand side when they are in the sd card the pin is grey and if you click the pin it will turn green and it will link it back into the internal memory so you can play/open the app and use when finished using just go back into folder mount and unpin it or if you are going to go back into that particular later on you can just keep it linked, the idea is that when the apps are not in use all of the data stays on the sd card to preserve internal memory, its only really big apps you need to do this with like gta etc... also when the pin is green the app remains in both the sd card and internal storage, so basically the apps are sort of dormant until you want to use them but it saves memory on the internal storage anyway, so basically install folder mount link the game/app to sd and when you want to use it link it so the internal storage, if you get folder mount for free you can only have three pairs but if you purchase it like I did you can link as many apps as you like as long as you have enough memory on your card lol and to support the developer
hope this helps
Hi all,
I have just rooted my phone using the amazing Towelroot app as I want to move my games to my sd card as they take up so much room.
I have created a second partition on my 32gb card using the Aparted app but Titanium backup is still not giving me the option of moving to card.
I have also tried installing Link2sd but unfortunately that just causes a bootloop until I take the sd card out.
Anyone know of an app that will let me move all my games to my sd card as I only have 20% of internal memory left?
I have tried various methods from searching but nothing seems to work for me.
Thanks
