[Q] HTC Desire keeps on loading (fixed) - HTC Desire C

I followed this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2367385 step by step but there's a link missing in the "Install custom ROM." referring to the attach Attachment 2123031 so i didn't download that and moved to the next step and so on. Basically now if i connect the phone to the computer it doesn't show any hard drive nor allows me to restore because it says md5 mismatch and keeps on loading menu saying HTC.
I turn it off and it turns on after a few secs allone going to the stuck loading.
What can i do to at least restore to factory defaults?

You don't need to install a custom ROM. You may have flashed a kernel that is incompatible with the ROM you are using. About the md5 mismatch there is an easy way of fixing it as I can recall. Just search up the error in Google and a lot of results will come up. Can't provide you with links because I am on a phone and info encourage googling and the anti-spoon-feeding policy.

my problem persists anyone can help me out with fixing the phone? I made some search across the forum found similar problems but no success stories. :/

bump

Flash Prometheus Kernel (Sense Version). And try a lower frequency like 722Mhz. If you dont know how to flash a kernel look at guides in this forum. There is one in my signature too.

Ok i fixed my problem. But the wifi is an issue, is there any ROM without the wifi problems? I have CM10 installed but once the phone gets in the sleep mode wifi is lost and have to do the tricks again, so i guess i'll have to go for another img.
aashay960 does that rom have the wifi fixed or is the same like CM10?

All cm10 roms have wifi issue. All sense roms don't have wifi issue.

wifi keep alive and my connection manager to solve all wifi preoblems in 4.1.2

Ok my wifi is fixed now.
Basically what i did:
Download the app Wifi Connection Manager,
Go to you wifi settings do "forget" connection
Reboot
Enter in the app you've downloaded, select the network and save your credentials there
Done!
Now you can turn off or reboot as you which it doesn't lose any wifi settings!

[Q] wifi trouble with custom ROMs

Hi.
My first post. So I'm completely new to all of this. I recently discovered this forum, and found out you could root the Incredible S. This was no problem. I am also able to flash different ROM's to my phone (always doing full wipe first).
My problem is that many of the ROM's will not even find my wifi network. They will show my neighbours SSID's when scanning. But not mine.
The last one i tried was:
[1st Nov] Nik_IncredibleS_TriNiTy_SensationXL V 1.0 By Nikhil007
Still can't find my wifi-network.
I am now using
[ROM][Sept26][INC S]Virtuous Unity 2.39.0 Sense 3.0 Based on Pyramid
This is the only ROM i have tried where it can connect to my own network.
Am I doing something wrong?
FranKeRS
Change security settings on router. Try different encryption modes. (WPA/WEP1-2) You might need to set up a new wifi password.
Happens on stock rom as well.

Thank you for your answer.
This did not happen with my stock ROM, and it does not happen with the Virtous Unity ROM.
Is there no workaround? Shouldn't the ROM's be able to connect to any WiFi-network?
I can, of course change the security settings at home, but I don't think it will be appreciated if I do this at work.
FranKeRS
Sorry, I was wrong, didn't have this problem on stock Inc S, had it on my hd2 when running android roms on it. Quite annoying, but what I experienced, the higher security encr. I used it was more likely that the device saw the router.
Don't know about workarounds.
Things like this and "small" glitches made me stay on the stock rom, don't even have my Inc S rooted.

Seems like changing security to WPA only, and cipher type to AES on my router did the trick.
I hope this gets resolved in future ROM's.
EDIT: And today after a phone-restart it will not find my network again..

I am experiencing the same issue with Virtuous 2.39 Unity
My router is Gigaset 504 AGU.
Thinking about moving to stock Sense 3.0 ROM
User "scoobysnacks" is right, once again. The problem is caused by some custom Roms not having the Wifi Regulatory Domain set properly. There are a few options to go around this and change the regulatory domain into 14 channels.
1st option is to login to your WiFi router and manually over-ride the channel.
To do this, just login into your Wifi modem/router (http://192.168.0.1/ in my case) and go to the Wireless Settings or Wireless Advanced Settings and browse through the available options until you find Channel: Auto and change it to 1-11. It is best to choose a channel that is vacant in your area.
2nd option (probably the best option)
1. Use Root Explorer or Root Browser to navigate to "build.prop" file (usually in system folder)
2. Change the file type from read-only to Read/Write, if it prompts about it
3. Then change "ro.product.locale.region=US" to "ro.product.locale.region=EU"
4. Save the changes and make the file read-only again.
5. Reboot and the regulatory domain should be changed
3rd option (not really a workaround... )
Install Cyanogen 7.1 Rom and you'll have the option to change the regulatory domain from the Advanced Wifi Settings - Wireless settigs -> Advanced -> Regulatory Domain -> 14

Hello,
I triyed your recomendation, specially the second option, but on my build.prop file doesnt existe the ro.product.locale.region=US line, anything wrong if I added manually?? What did you think?
Thanks
You have 2 Options:
1. If your phone is on S-ON then you are supposed to flash htc stock kernel
2. If you are on S-OFF then try re-installing your rom with all other thing like wipe,etc...
3. If your problem with s-off wasn't solved, then try flashing Redux 0.8 kernel.(only if you are using sense Roms)
4. If you are on non-sense roms, try finding and flashing a good kernel for your rom.:good:

I might be wrong, but flashing a new radio is only going to affect 3g/ data signal strength etc. , not wifi ... isn't wifi is within the kernal? The BCM4329.ko file in the system/lib/modules folder?
I'm noobish to this aswell, and the reason i question this, is that when I was fooling around trying to get an OC/UV kernal to work on gingerbread, i kept getting wifi error when changing kernals...

[Q] WIFI issue!! AOKP milestone #5 T-Mobile USA TAB

Hi I've been trying to find out the problem for past 2 hours and flashed again many times and i cant seem to find the problem here.
the problem is that after a clean install of this rom AOKP milestone #5, i connect to my wifi 2.4GHz. 5GHz doenst seems to work.
it doesnt even show. now the problem is that when i reboot once than the tab cant turn the wifi back on.. so i cannot connect to the wifi.
i get black toggle not gray like the other toggle and i go into the setting menu and the tab tries to turn on the wifi but i can't.
it just says "turning wifi on" and nothing. so i flashed again and same problem occur. i dont know the problem.
so i am trying to restore the overcome 4.1 nandroid backup but it doenst work from the new CWR (MTD).
how can i flash the recovery (non MTD) that i used to have with overcome rom.
if i cant do i have to restock all the way again so i can restore to overcome nandroid backup that ive made?
if i have to restock, what do i have to do from AOKP Milestone #5 ROM (MTD)?
Thanks in Advance
Dan
You restock the same way as in overcome.
Fire up Odin and flash with repartition.
Then you can flash overcome kernel and boot to cwm recovery and restore.
Don't know about you, but my overcome Android restore always have FC after reboot to the point of unusable.
I usually have to wipe all and restore from titanium backup instead.

Wifi stuck at "obtaining IP address" - Stock LPY

I am on rooted stock LPY. I noticed that whenever I try to connect to wifi it says connecting then stuck at obtaining ip address and then disconnected. I have tried more than one router and I am getting the same results. I have googled this and one solution is to have a static ip address. The problem is that this setting is no longer available in ICS. Any idea how to fix this without wiping (I am too afraid to wipe given all the fuss about it).

Did you flash the LPY Rom with or without full wipe? That might be the cause.
You can flash a new modem and see if it's fixed. I can't think of anything else...

This is what made it work for me:
- remove network from device, disable wifi and turn off device
- turn off internet modem(if you have any) and router, wait at least 2 min.
- turn on modem and router
- turn on device, enable wifi and connect to network
Hope it works out for you

With wifi disabled, if you have root, go to /data/misc/dhcp/ and delete all 3 files there.
I had problems on LPY where wifi would connect but ip address wouldn't get assigned.
Deleting the 3 files in /data/misc/dhcp/ fixed it for me. No probs since
Re-flash with wifi off, make the sincronization with google on 3g and then turn on wi-fi connection

I gathered all my courage and flashed a pre rooted GBrom via pc Odin, no wipes, no cleaning, no nothing . once back on GB i only performed one hard reset and felt confident enough to flash CWM back on it. Hmm. Those 3/4 files should get recreated if DHCP is working properly on your phone.
Perhaps you phone is missing stuff in /system/etc/dhcpcd/?
Another thing just popped into my mind - did you restore your Wifi Access point details via Titanium Backup? I think that may have been an issue for me too on LPY... don't restore is best.
Or just downgrade to GB, full wipe and flash LPF
Do you have soundhound or dolphin browser hd installed?

I'm on LPY too. When I'm at office I have no issues with wifi connection but when I'm back home I start to have issues. It shows connected and I get no error or disconnected messages what so ever. But device looses wifi connection short time after connected. I check wifi connection on laptop and there is no problem but on my Note even though it shows connected I have no connection. Turning wifi off/on fixes it sometimes but most if the time it doesn't.

[Q] i8190n no network on any 4.2.2 rom

Hi all, I've been trawling through the forums for over a day trying to fix my problem of no mobile network on any of the 4.2.2 based roms,
I can see my imei no, baseband (I8190NXXAMD3) etc. However my network is "unknown:0", signal strength "0dbm 99asu" and the rom doesn't see my phone number,
I have, flashed + reflashed with wipes of data cache and dalvik.
Checked my APN settings (default is ok, though on initial boot isn't selected) [also reentering my apn settings and clicking save seems to delete my APN(s)].
I have disabled wifi + gps etc, aeroplane mode on+off several times, many reboots etc. ( i have noticed that on first boot the mobile data tile(toggle switch) says "no service" and the signal indicator is shown in the status/notification bar [empty, no signal], but after enabling then disabling aeroplane mode it changes to "emergency calls only" and the signal indicator icon disappears from the top right,
I have tried Maclaws 4.2.2 releases (aokp,cm10.1,PAC) and Team Golden's releases (including the latest ParanoidAndroid 3.69) all have no mobile network issue ass described.
I also found a modified build.prop on one of the other threads (for aokp) and imported it over the one i had, made no difference
the only thing i haven't done is flash via odin, all flashes are performed from the latest CWM (not trusting this laptop atm)
DModv6 is working fine for now, but i'd really like to update to one of the 4.2.2 releases, developers doing a great job bringing it to the s3 mini =D
If there is anything else i can do to assist in fixing this issue please don't hesitate to ask me.
flash official firmware of your region >root>use csc changer to change csc >then follow instruction to install 4.2.2 rom , i think the CSC is the problem .
TRY PACMAN(team golden)
CSC is not the problem here. CM-based roms doesn't even use it.
You're not the only one with this problem. I've seen a few more with same issue.
Anyway..you should really try to flash a stock firmware using odin to see if everything is working ok, not only on dmod.

flashed...
ok so i downloaded firmware - I8190NXXALL6_H3GALL2_UK_H3G_Android_4.1.2.zip
and flashed with odin, log stated no errors, but stuck in a boot loop. (on first boot cwm asks to install unsigned package, clicked yes, restart, then stuck on samsung loading screen)
Reflashed maclaw studios latest aokp release just to test, inc factory reset and dalvik wipe ofc, but still no network =[ (checked APN, aeroplane mode on/off etc)
also back to baseband ALL6 instead of AMD3 now
Restored backup to DMod6 (still got ALL6 baseband) and everything working again.
Just wish i could get 4.2.2 working with network...
Any ideas?
thanks
* Also thought that firmware should have had the H3G logo for boot animation, not samsung.. bit odd =]
Any help?
Anyone had any similar problems, and managed to overcome them?
Or can anyone point me to any tuts/guides so i can maybe fix the problem myself, whether it be "splicing" 2 ROM's or whatever.

Well i tried latest CM10.1 already (big thanks to the maclaw team) but still no network, currently on ALL6 baseband, same issues as previously, no network, presuming sim drivers not working properly for me as it doesnt show my number.
Any1 got a link to somewhere with a list of available Modem files (different basebands) ready for download?

Solution
Dear Sheephog,
Did you find a solution for this? I'm having a very similar problem with CM11 on i8190n. On Touchwiz, mobile network and data are fine. But when I install Maclaw's latest CM11 build (whether using clockworkmod or TWRP), factory reset, then reboot, CM11 boots up nicely /except/ mobile network and data are unknown. Network Operators (in Settings>Wireless and networks>Mobile Network Settings) yields "Error while searching for networks". A restore to Touchwiz gets mobile network and data back no problem.
(My baseband version is I8190NXXAMJ2.)
Thanks

Network Operators (in Settings>Wireless and networks>Mobile Network Settings) yields "Error while searching for networks". A restore to Touchwiz gets mobile network and data back no problem.
(My baseband version is I8190NXXAMJ2.)
Thanks

[Q] WiFi and signal in general not working (CM10 Build #3 with Prometheus Build #2)

Alright, I went through the instructions and everything was fine... Until I loaded up and could recieve or make any calls or access WiFi. This is an essential for me (and many others im sure). Is there a way to fix it? If not I am just going back to stock...
Uh yeah, I fixed my own problem. A little reflash fixed it just fine! If anyone else has this problem, reflash and MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT USE REBOOT WHEN EXITING RECOVERY MODE! (I personally prefer to just pull the battery out quick )
It's a known bug. If you read below "what's working" you read "wifi (turn on then reboot)".
