(Q) 4.2.2 Touchwiz on N7000.. - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi. I'm a noobi and I posted this q at the wrong forum(general) earlier and the respons was not very nice..
I've wondered about this q a while and have not found any topics anywhere.
Q. (this is not a reqest! Please don't jump the guns)
It would be cool with a TW 4.2.2 rom on the Note. And I know that Samsung haven't released any for it yet. But I wonder. Why wouldn't it be possible to modify a f.ex. S4 TW 4.2.2 rom to work on the N7000? After all here are plenty of custom (aosp?)4.2.2 roms. And people do customize TW 4.1.2 roms.. I'll idmit I don't understand the difference.. I'm only a f...ing noobi and haven't found any writings on just this.

Opening a new thread for the same question again after you got answers there already isn't necessary. So why not read your thread in General again and accept the answer: "No"

Since you ask. Because I only ment to ask in the proper forum.
Maybe it was not necessary, but is that up to you to decide?
It was not only an" if" question, but also a "why" question and I didn't get any proper answer, only sarcasm.
Why don't you read article 2.3 in the forum rules?
I was not trying to waste your time or annoy anyone or disturb or clutter your holy forum. I was just trying to learn a little. Thought it would be a legit question.
Now I have learned it was not and I will apologize to all of you and for draging this out.
I am so sorry!
(and I apologize for my poor english too)
To the mods: Please delete this thread too. Maybe I have one or two other threads. Will you be so kind to erase also those.
I am not worthy.

Asking a question? Do it in the Q&A Section! This is the development section...

Please ask questions in THIS thread
DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT ASK QUESTIONS IN THE DEVELOPMENT SECTION,This just proves how stupid you are.
For general information go here - [REF] ALL ROMS | ROOTING | FAQ's | STICKIES | POSTING RULES - Read before posting

To be continued.....
I wonder if the amount of questions (in development) will decrease if we had a Q&A forum like the other devices...

It probably would! Often people ask a question about rooting, roms etc and think they should put it in development if they don't realise the rules, so a Q&A section would help with that. Not sure if its possible though, I don't even know who would be responsible for it.

I already tried to contact our moderator here both about this mess and about the one in DS section, but so far no answer I guess they are super busy...
I posted in the Site's forum and got someone to sticky this in the meantime! ^_^
Might be a good idea to change this thread, since we now have a Q&A forum
official Roms
hi
thanks for your good job for legend.
i want to ask you question about official Rom that you prepare for legend, what is the basic and mainly different between these 4 official rom?
my legend build number is "3.30.466.6 CL326573 release-key" and with this software number: "3.30.466.6", so what is the different between my ROM and those 4 ROM that you prepare?!!!
thanks for your response
What?! Why is that in this thread?!
If you need to contact someone personally, PM them, there's no rules against that. If you need to discuss something on-topic, find the suitable thread and discuss/search/or if necessary, revive it!
IF YOU NEED TO ASK A QUESTION, THIS REALLY ISN'T, ISN'T, ISN'T THE RIGHT PLACE TO DO IT.
AND THAT WAS THE WORST POSSIBLE KIND TOO. This thread here is STICKIED to inform how and where to ask a question. PROPERLY. It's clear that you haven't read the OP. At all.

There are instructions everywhere on how to flash it. Also, thats an old version, the new KJ3 released today
step 1. dont post questions in dev forum
step 2. ???
step 3. profit
I'll get straight to the point....
Despite stickys and forum announcements most of us are still finding ourselves becoming terribly, terribly vexed at the amount of [Q]'s cluttering the dev section...
Therefore, from now on, if you do not follow the rules outlined below, you will be infracted. Break them again and you may find yourself unable to post anything at all on any forum!!
[Q]Surely thats a bit harsh aint it??
[A]Not really....
We've tried to be nice about it but that clearly doesnt work.
If you cannot read and abide by the simple rules in this sticky then I dont know how you're going to manage to hack your device without running into trouble.
The Dev section is NOT for asking questions.....
The Dev section is NOT for general topics..........
All threads posted MUST be prefixed with a description of the thread, [ROM] / [Kernel] etc etc.....*
*(Not planning on being particuarly strict on this. You guys (the devs), know how to title a thread.... just a pointer for new devs.)
Basically, unless your thread is to actually release something or discuss something of a very technical and n00b unfriendly nature, it doesnt belong here!
Pretty simple really.....
If you see something that shouldnt be here then PM me....
I will try to check in as reguarly as I can but I have a few sections to keep an eye on and believe it or not, a life outside XDA
Yes thats right, there is life outside XDA

This is a direct quote from the sticky at the top of this forum. Read around before you post. This would have been received much better in the Q&A Forum. Because its a question. And nowhere close to a development.
Thread locked. xCRZYx, post your question in the Question and Answer forum. This is development only.

prateekgujral

Is he locking anybody elses threads for no apperent reason or just mine?
I post a link to the ics port and he locks it and says all ics development convo should be in his thread that consists of 3 people saying nothing about an existing port that boots and is smooth with wifi and bluetooth.
Why you mad son?
He actually deleted my post and I don't know why
Why not just discuss it in his thread like it says to?

Why would i discuss someone elses rom in a general OS thread?
I was linking to RootzWiki to a ROM not trying to start a hangout.

Guys,
1. Till the time an ICS rom is ported or developed within XDA, no other threads are allowed.
2. neckbonest - your post was deleted as you were directing members to another site, which is against XDA rules.
3. Threads are closed to keep the fora clean.
4. Opening threads like this will not help.
5. I would have expected the OP (calling me "son") to have taken a bit more matured step, like PM me. Many of my fellow mods will construe this as "non-cooperation with the mods"
Cheers!
oh BTW - This thread is closed now. Please PM me if you have any questions.

Because it's not your ROM, and this is why we don't allow threads in dev forums to just be a "pointer" to a ROM on another forum.
The dev forum is for devs who wish to release their own work.
prateekgujral obviously started an ICS thread for all things ICS related, so that several hundred other threads don't start appearing, cluttering up the forum...I would have done the same thing. Thus, you really should have just linked to it in his thread.
Also, please refrain from starting any more threads questioning a mods actions...it doesn't help anyone. If you have a question or concern about a mods action, contact a senior mod or moderator committee member.
But in this instance there's no need as prateekgujral has done nothing wrong

There is no point discouraging some one who is new! You were not an expert when you joined. yes he did a mistake by posting in the dev section but that doesnt give you the right to have a go at him.. xda is all about sharing each others knowledge.
Welcome to Android mate. Congrats for buying the beast! And Please use search from the next time.

New here

May I ask what is a deoxed from what is that plss tell me I dunno about what deoxed from means
Don't post this on the Android Development section but in the General section !!!!!
A deodexed (de-odex'ed) ROM is a ROM, without the .odex files in the /system/app/ folder, so only the .apk files.
It's intended for saving internal space.

Well, since you're new here, I decided to compile a quick FAQ for you!
Does anybody care if I'm new or not?
No.
Come on, I'm new, so what if I post in the wrong sections! Just help me already!
No.
Please? I'm new?
No. Read the rules.
Rules???
Yes, those you agreed on already.
Seriously, I just want a fast answer!!!
Use the search function. Or Google. Or Bing. Or <insert random search engine here>.
Man, come on! I'm lebanese just like you are!
Fine, I'll help you. Here's the link for the rules so you don't have to search for it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/announcement.php?f=1165
EDIT: Reviewing my post, it's a tad meaner than I meant. So I'm gonna make it up for you and give you a short answer: saves space, allows theming of apps, slight performance loss.
[TUTORIAL] Unbrick/Firmware restore | Flash GUIDE | ROM List & REVIEWS [22/9/2012]
no one is reading rules...
This is the last time I'm stating it & I'll start giving warnings next time I see such threads in the dev section. Post in the relevant section & search before you post. Thread closed.
