ODEXED APPS (XXLI1 firmware)
ODEXED FRAMEWORK (XXMD1 firmware)
ODEXED APPS (XXLD3 firmware) Thanks to bittertruth277
These Apps are odexed. This means you will need to download the .odex file which has the same name as the app too (Odexed apps give you better Performance, Faster boot and more battery life but they are very difficult to modify).
DEODEXED APPS + Superuser.apk (XXMC1 firmware)
These apps are deodexed. This means you only need to download the .apk (Deodexed apps have the opposite properties of Odexed apps).
How to install an app as System app
1. Goto /system/app
2. Place the .apk (and the .odex) there
3. Now set both the permission rw-r-r
4. Now reboot and you're done

You beat me to it! Where were you when I needed you?
Hello All. This is my first post so please forgive any lapses in protocol. I am a complete noob. To tell you the truth, I am still reeling from watching that sign up video. Man that is VERY INTIMIDATING.
Anyway, I only signed up to firstly thank all the people who contribute to this wonderful site (I have referenced it many times over the last few months and learnt 'alot' as a result) and secondly to try and give something back to the community. Specifically, I was going to ask permission to upload stock apk's for the Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830i with Gingerbread 2.3.6 (especially the browser which I know are difficult to find). However, the OP definitely beat me to it.
It's quite funny but I wish I had found this post a few days ago when I was looking for the stock browser apk files for my own phone. I was a bit careless with titanium backup and ended up deleting alot of bloatware and the browser. I kept getting through to the 2.3.4 thread and can confirm they didn't work with the 2.3.6 version.
I have noticed that you reference XXLD1 build. Mine shows as XXLD2 so I don't know if that means my files will be different or the same.
FYI, I am in the UK and on the TESCO MOBILE network. I think it shares it's infrastructure with O2. If any body does need files please say and I will try to upload them (I have to learn how to, first).

It has the instructions for how to install SYSTEM APKS as well as the apps that will be needed to carry out the process, although as mentioned the files didn't work for me.

You all see? That's what i call a newbie, and not a noob. You are not a noob. A noob asks tons of times questions that were already answered. Welcome to Xda, i say. I hope you contribute a lot for this forum, as well as i hope you find this forum useful. For uploading your files, try Dropbox or Mediafire (i think Dropbox is easier to use). Files from other stock are LIKELY not to work on your stock, as well as they may work, though. And if it doesn't works, why don't you upload your apk's? They might be useful to another user. Again, welcome to XDA.
Ps.: my reaction to that video was the same.

Sorry for the format of the link. The site won't let me post an outside link. The only other way was to attach 184 files one by one!
Just remove all the brackets and replace the "(dots)" with an actual "."
ALSO MY BUILD VERSION IS SHOWING AS XXLD3 AND NOT XXLD2 as mentioned earlier.

Are there any stock apk/odex files for the 2.3.6 S5830iXXLD2?
Or are any of these compatable? i accidentally deleted some of the stock apps, and now i can't update via Play store. I also get a lot of errors that some proccesses can't start or crashed. I tried factory reset, but i guess once the stock stuff is deleted.. it's deleted for good.

I have made a list of applications I've frozen without causing problems for my tablet.
If you also find applications which are safe to remove (which you actually did test them) from the ROM, post them here and I will add them to the list.
Please post as complete as possible, so with the app name, lost functionality and so on.
Removing apps from your tablet system is at your own risk.
List P3113
I remove over 30+ things from most ROM's I flash with Titanium Backup.
I would like to see this list for Stock 7", Stock 10", AOKP on both and CM9 on both. Could make a really useful thread.
Next time I flash mine I'll make a list for AOKP/7".
I just saw this topic and thought -- exactly what I am looking for, unfortunately the link returns a 404 Not Found Error
I'm sorry about that.
For the time being I have made a solution through Dropbox, so you can click again and download the file.
Fixed!
The original link is working again so now you got two options.

You need rootaccess/administrative permissions and apps like titanium backup or rootexplorer.

If you go to Settings > Applications > All you can find various apps and disable them, which is basically the same as removing them (They disappear from your device completely except for this screen) but allows you to restore them at any time if they are needed for something.

What ROM did you try this on? was it the stock one?

Thank you for your coorporation! Yes, the base is stock. Stock P5110.
OK. Then i will only root and try removing apps, before i start flashing.
I might even get it tomorrow, but i can't promise anything yet.
And as I'm new to this whole Odin thingy I must read a bit more about it to get the Tab rooted correctly.
But since i got some experience rooting HTC and Motorola devices I figure it'll be quick work=)
I'll upload the edited .xls when I'm done =)
After going through the list as i was testing apps i realized a few things.
1. The apps that are safe to remove on the P5110 are all safe to remove on the P3113
2. What apps are on the Tab2 differce from country to country.
3. Root uninstaller is not a 100% stable App.
With this i have to say, for P3113 Users, look at the list of the P5110. Because to me, at least, the P3113 list will look exactly the same as the P5110 List. Except for some apps that the P5110 have that i dont have, and the other way around.
I've adde the updated -xls, But tbh it just looks like a copy-paste of the P5110.
What about on the P5113?
Well. We would someone with the P5113 to test it.

1. Yes, I thought that as well. I think that the firmware of the various models, don't differ that much because I noticed my wifi device has a lot off apps necessary for phone abilities, thus the base of the stock ROM's are the 3G firmware.
2. I don't know exactly. I immediately noticed in your list a Kindle app that I didn't encounter in my ROM, but I haven't start with a thorough comparison.
My P5110 ROM contains 159 system apps. How many count yours?
3. I recommend Titanium Backup and Rootexplorer for freezing and removing. Those apps do the trick for me.
My stock rom had 155 or 156, I don't remember.
I've flashed my Tab2 with CM9.

Good question, I had to use titanium to delete google search, then download the one from the play store (same version number) and then convert it to system app.
That one lg supplied file would not deodex no matter what I tried? the replacement was fine.
i tried to deodex 20q. but i cant deodex nearly 10 apks.
if you did it it is great!
only one apk and repleace from play store doesnt matter. i mean did you used any apk from other versions like 20o 20p etc.
good work man. thanx
what is the difference is latest libaudiopolicy.so?

Maybe you wanna convert all those ROMs into easy to flash .zip files. But a nice thread anyway. UAE version and some other regional ones would be nice. Maybe we should all work together, create all the local ones, post them here and you add them to the thread, so everyone can pick a rooted version, he/she wants to have.
I guess they are rooted or don't delete the root, right? (I don't think a nandroid would remove root, but are they rooted?)

Sounds like a plan, In the meantime I need to learn how to create zip files. I had no joy with rom kitchen. any other tools for that please?
I might help with flashable zip, but gimme a little bit time so I can test
In process of dl from my server (have to sign it locally), I'll test it ASAP
EDIT: Getting error when installing :/ Will try to fix it.
EDIT2: Now bricked, I guess I shouldn't have changed things on boot.img, will unbrick then retry without any modifications from my own nandroid.
EDIT3: I guess I just bricked my phone too much times for this night, will retry tomorrow.

One day with v20s, good room, very smooth, battery management is really good. The only thing is that calendar and note widget don't work
I think V20s is the best version for me.. I have used all the version and for me its most stable one...
And with the help of UOT Kitchen I modified some changes like battery, status bar, notification bar , font, boot animation.. And everything works like charm...
CAUTION!! This ROM is mostly made for developers and people interested in developing for Samsung Gear Live. I take no responsabilities for possible damages to your device.
Hi everyone.
I open a new thread here in General because I have not enough posts for posting in Development, and I don't want to spam other threads only for posting there. Moderators can move this if they want.
We have here the first Custom ROM for Samsung Gear Live: OctamodWear
Currently we have very few new features, but this is only the beginning.
Features
- OctamodWear 0.2
- KMV78Y based
- Fully deodexed
- Root
- Busybox
- WearControl, the system management app. Reboot2Recovery is gone; install WearControl from PlayStore to ensure you always have the latest version: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=octathorp.wearcontrol
- ES File Explorer and Quick System Info preinstalled
- OctamodWear 0.1
- KMV78X based
- Root
- Busybox
- Reboot2Recovery, it's an app made by me that let you reboot in recovery mode (interesting for use with custom recoveries).
- ES File Explorer and Quick System Info preinstalled (mainly, for developing purposes. I included them because it was a pain to install again with each data-wipe during tests).
Important
- Superuser permissions (root) are enabled by default, without Superuser or similar app. So, whatever app that you install and require root permissions will obtain them. That's due to the fact that there is no Superuser app for Android Wear yet.
- We need unlocked bootloader in order to be able to install the ROM (fastboot oem unlock).
- This system (Android Wear) is still very recent, and there are many things we don't know, despite its similarities with Android.
Work-in-progress...
- Get a better battery consumption.
- Improve performance
- Other things I have not thought about yet
Installation
If you don't have unlocked bootloader, follow this steps:
- Connect using ADB and run "adb reboot bootloader"
- In the bootloader screen, run "fastboot oem unlock". Warning!! This will wipe the device.
- Once you have unlocked the bootloader, the next step is to flash the provided system.img, using "fastboot flash system system_octamodWear.img"
- Done!

I will try to help you if you need it, but please, there are a lot of pages on the web where you can get information about ADB drivers or bootloader unlocking effects, so please, use Google.
Furthermore, I don't have much free time due to work and personal life, so this ROM will not have a very fast development. My main purpose is to give people something they can start working with, and make a great development community.
Enjoy it!

This is the best day EVER!! Thank you so very much!!
Hey @octathorp I just received an update a couple days ago and did it... I assume the update would not be compatible with this ROM, or can I still install this ROM? Thanks!
Update is KMV78Y by the way.
Hi.
I have not received the update yet, so i don't really know. It should work well, because this is only system.img, but i'm gonna update the base rom as soon as I receive the update.
One thing i forgot to post some days ago... I've made an app that lets you reboot your device into recovery or bootloader, as well as changing CPU governors. It's Reboot2Recovery replacement, and it will be included in next release. Meanwhile, you can get the app from Play Store, searching "WearControl" (sorry i cannot post links yet).
I'll update the OP.

Return to Stock?
What would be the best way to return to stock? My guess would be to flash the system img that Adam Outler posted but want to make sure that I'm correct. I got excited and flashed this without backing up on TWRP first.
Hey is it possible to put the ROM in flashable form for TWRP?! Would make it much easier to install

thank ya!!! The dowload is painfully slow ...around 2 hours?? The first time I got it,. the md5s didnt match
First thanks for the first custom rom for the Gear Life!
Does anybody have a mirror? Dev Host is really slow, 1 hour to download 146mB :silly:
Would be much appreciated :highfive:
I dont actually use any file sharing sites myself
I take no credit for this ROM. All credit goes to the developer @edgarf28 and his team and testers.
Keeps knox intact, Stable, and its fast!
Center clock, Battery mods, and color customizations galore!

Install for us AT&T users is very simple but funky at the same time. Just wipe and flash with flash-fire, like normal.
Then go through the aroma set up. The ROM doesn't officially support Flash-fire but I have seen a few others in the OP from our AT&T locked Boot-loaders who have flashed this just fine also.
The funky part of the install is aroma itself. It works but flashes and flickers a lot. You can read and make out all the selections, you just have to deal with the flashing. After the install is complete click the reboot option in Aroma and it will reboot. First boot as usual takes up to 5 minute but sometimes only a couple minutes.
After flashing the ROM, use the add on zip to get back any Samsung apps that you want to have installed. This ROM is super debloated so things like themes and all cast have to be added through the add on zip Along with either the Alliance framework, or 3minit framework. I am using the Alliance framework because I like the ability to fully customize the toggles and other things more than having a bunch of different battery's to choose from.
The mod add on ZIP
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347761090
Also works, but If you click the reboot option after the install it will freeze up and not restart. I dont know why it does that but just click the reboot option off and restart it yourself.
When using the alliance framework and changing the drop down toggles
do not choose "OTA flashable" toggles in the drop down menu or your UI will FC so bad you have to wipe it all and reflash everything from scratch.
Support for the rom can be found in the Developers thread.
Updated the download link to the xtrestolite 1.5 which is the only working version for AT&T
Credit to: @moofasa29 for first bring this to my attention:good:
I can try to answer your questions, since I have gone through the OP repeatedly before flashing this. But I think your questions will be better answered in and by the OP.
I also got Viper4Android working and the edge feeds for music and quick launch with no issues just following their OP threads.
This ROM is sweet so far, I have had no issues with anything since my re-flash due to the toggle issue.

While it is appreciated you bringing this to the ATT users attention and walking everyone through the steps on how to flash. I would just make sure it's alright with the rom developer for you to post this in our section.

Funny you posted this, I sent a PM to @edgarf28 this afternoon to make sure he knew about this posted. He hasn't responded and if he does and he isn't happy with me posting a redirect post I will delete the post. I was just sharing information and wasn't thinking about stepping on toes when I wrote the OP here, I was so exited to have it working and I had to share.:good:
That was the first thing that should have been done!

Ok, this is frustrating. I've downloaded the add on package a half dozen times. It doesn't show up in Flash Download/OTA. I can see it under flash firmware with (CORRUPT)
Disregard. Moved to root of phone and not the download folder

It is there, scrolling through the list can be a pain but it is there.
It is weird you couldnt flash it as a normal zip from the DL folder. Thats where I flashes it from both times I flashed the rom and add-on pack.

Guess I don't see how anyone wouldn't want someone to tell others about their work? either way I sent him a message.
No Samsung account.
The only issue I have found is you cannot sign into your Samsung account. Thus can't download galaxy apps.
I opened the theme store and it asked me to sign in' it signed me in just fine.
Sent from my SM-G925A using XDA Premium HD app
I tried that. Not working for me. Maybe I messed up on the aroma options or something.

I went through the aroma installer again this morning because I wanted the smart manager app.
There is an option for the samsung account theme store and the samsung app store. all seperate, if you go through the aroma installer again I am sure you will find it

I did that previously with the same issue. I didn't resolve the issue until I opted to keep the stock framework as oppose to the alliance. Thanks for the help though.
Anyone else having GPS issues? It seems to half work. It will locate me, but not track when moving. So, nav is broken
Searching for GPS
I'm surprised it even works considering it's for the G925F lol... Then again, maybe it's just lame Verizon that causes issues with flashing a ROM from the G925F...
Hello mates,
Just upgraded from my two year old Lenovo P780 to Gionee M4 Marathon. Excellent phone with super FAIL rear camera. It seriously sucks, Even cheap 2500/i rupee phones have better camera than this.
First thing i did was to root the phone, Rooted successfully after installing all the OTA updates available. If some one needs i am attaching the apk below. Just Install it and hit root. Should be done.
Secondly i never did like the amigo UI and carefree launcher. Installed Nova launcher to replace the launcher but i cant find any custom lollipop Roms for this phone.
I have decided to develop a ROM myself. Will be uploaded here in a couple of weeks.
Meanwhile all those with Gionee M4 please do share links and information about any custom ROMS you might locate on internet. Lets make this device a better one.
Cheers !!!!!!!
:good:
Not found any custom roms for this device yet.
My setup and review is exactly same - Crappy camera
Using nova launcher,
Amazing battery backup
Amazing 3G radio connectivity even in remote places where none of my previous Samsung, LG phones worked.
I think its not worth making 5.x rom, better make Marshmallow or none.

Hehe.. LIke minds think alike mate. I am working on this 5.0 based ROM, i need to get rid of Amigo UI. I m not an advanced developer, just trying to modify stock firmware so as to get rid of bloat and crappy UI. I wish some one comes up with an marshmallow based ROM. Search is on. Lets wait !!!

Good luck.
Sorry for the discouragement in the previous post.
I have no problems with stock UI and in fact it performs so smooth compared to the Note 3 and other mainstream phones.
Also, the battery is amazing.
I keep searching... There are some scam sites claiming marshmallow is available for Marathon M4 but it looks like they are simply collecting personal data without having any ROMs.
High Screen Power 5 ROM installation
Hi guys, just wanted to update all, i successfully installed custom 5.1 ROM from our fellow mates at 4PDA.
http://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=689083
The ROM installation was successful and everything worked great except however there was no cellular signal. The radio firmware does not support Indian frequencies so i guess i will have to revert this time.
I am now working on customizing this firmware to install Indian version of Modem. If anyone has an idea about this, please share.
Hope to see a stable custom 5.1 for our phone soon.

This one cant move the apps from internal to external SD but if you are interested in installing all apps on external SD card then flash this firmware via flashtools.

Its a firmware for high screen power 5 from Russia. I have used it and everything works well. It uses external SD as primary memory by default. Also u need to replace the modem if using this phone in india. I have it with me, let me know if u need it. :good:
