I have a C6903 Z1:
- firmware 14.1.G.1.534 SG
- rooted using vroot (i can install titanium backup, supersu, and it said rooted)
- backed up TA partition
- now i want to update to 14.2.A.0.290 SG
- i already read the update method by NUT
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2572988
seems it is the only good working method now
BUT, i have a question regards the "requirements"
Current rooted FW version: 14.1.G.1.534 and 14.1.G.2.257

So, do i need to update to .257 and root it before process NUT method ? ... or just process NUT method directly ...?
Sorry for posting here instead of the Original thread but i dont have permission to post there.
Any help is well appreciated. Thanks!

You can just proceed with [NUT]'s method. Now that you have root install recovery and the do the rest of the steps.
If you need help refer to my updated video:

Thanks for your advice
I just processed exactly as NUT guide and had the 4.3 c6903 14.2.A.0.290 rooted :good:
Just a question:
- as NUT guide, last step is flash the ...stripped.ftf
- as your video, i did not see you flash the stripped.ftf. Instead, you flash the original generic 14.2.A.0.290 ?
what is the different? If i flash again the original 14.2.A.0.290 like yours. will it loose root ?
Have a great day!

In my video it is the stripped version as well. It shows up as normal in Flashtool for some reason. My video is 100% based on [NUT] method

Oh i see. Now i can start enjoy my Z1 fully rooted 4.3 after 3 days joinning the android world.
Many thanks for helps :good:
my friend updated the Xperia Sp to 4.3 and now it is very laggy. He need to downgrade to 4.1.2. I need the ftf file link for downloading and flashtool link as my old flashtool dont have xperia sp driver.
As this phone is bought from customs I am not sure to which region it belongs. Do I need to exclude baseband when flashing? Do I need to skip final verification?.
The baseband version of 4.3 update is 8960-AAAAATAZQ-40031007-18
See my tutorial in General section or via the link below in my signature.. All you need is explained in the tutorial
Good luck

hi, did you unlock your bootloader before? if yes, then relock it. Or flash a .157 (Latest 4.4.4) via flashtool.

These codes refer to the region or the country this FTF image made to.. (ex. CE means this FTF is made for Central Europe users, BR for Brazil, ES for Spain, SG for Singapore , etc...). These FTF files could also vary according to your operator.
Note: Search the whole thread not only OP to find the right FTF. You can also make your own FTF using Xperia firmware downloader tool and Flashtool.
@OsGhaly Thank You...
