[Q] Cant get the bootloader unlocked, please help :) - Xperia Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello again all peeps!
I need helpeth! I cant unlock the bootloader, nothing works.
First I cant get the status options from *#*#7378423#*#* , it just says the number isnt working. I got that menu when I started this a couple of days ago but I cant get them now so I cant check if my phone is unlockable.
Second, the command for unlocking the boatloader with the command: "fastboot.exe -i 0x0fce oem unlock 0xKEY" doesnt work, it says: "FAILED (remote: Command not allowed)" .
Third; I downloaded latest flashtool and tried that but it feels kinda scary since the threads says it only works for x10, x8, x10 mini/pro.
´So what shall I do at this time?? What to do`?

Is your device unlockable?
Like does it say bootloader unlockable = Yes on the service menu?

How do I check this out? With this command: *#*#7378423#*#* ? That one has only worked once, when I rooted the phone, otherwise it doesnt.
And the phone is rooted I think, otherwise the TA backup wouldnt have worked I guess

Sounds to me like you bought a locked carrier device, which can't be unlocked.

I must agree... If it's Carrier locked phone, you can't unlock your bootloader either vía flashtools or fastboot.
Sorry, but only sony's service centers can do it...

Argh, wtf! The other Android devices I bought where always available to "crack" on some way but I guess there isnt a way now... :/ I hope there will come in the future
Anyway, I have root now anyway. I guess I can install some roms anyway

Any idea if someone is working on a boot loader unlock for the c6606 I'm kind of annoyed. I have it rooted and debloated but I want to flash other Roms.

Indeed you can. As long as they are stock based and planned for locked bootloader...
The only issue IMO is that you can't flash other kernel than mentioned STOCK based ones
Enviado desde mi C6603 usando Tapatalk 2

What about updates? I won't get ota updates if I flash it right? I'm stock rooted at the moment

If you finally unlock the bootloader, you will surelly face OTA issues, and probably a soft brick. You will have to use Emma from Sony. It's meant for unlocked.devices...
But first of all, make a BACKUP of your ta partition, or you Will loose your drm Keys.
You have been warned

Simple.. As long as you don't tick DATA, your firmware should be upgraded instead of deleted...
You can preserve root If you don't tick kernel also (i think)

You've got a locked, un-unlockable bootloader. This is what you get when you send the unlock command in fastboot in this scenario. The oem unlock command is not allowed. This comes from experience of my C6603 on Three UK. Go check the Xperia bounty thread for a ton of information. ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2287897 ) Doomlord is working on a workaround for this when he doesn't have other dev work to do.
Upshot of this is that you can't flash kernels that aren't signed by Sony. This rules out CM and anything using CM as a base. It is very annoying but at present only stock based roms are flashable.

Uhm tick DATA with flashtool I guess? Im quoting the response I got from ZeroInfinity, the creator of Excelsus Z :
I just read his instructions more carefully so now I know that since I have the same firmware (10.3.A.0.423) as his rom so I can just install it via TWRP

Relocking is not yet fully and flawlessly possible.
The current method for relocking worked for some, others posted myriads about how it screwed all up. As the level of technical proficiency of those users is unknown and not really determinable, at this time is probably safe to say, it's a) up to you to try and b) may work with a certain chance or c) it may not.

There is still a possibility that it does not work with your device (right now).
If you access the service menu and look up the "Bootloader unlocked" status it should either read "yes" (unsuccessful) or "unknown" (successful) if you have used the tool.
Also note that DRM keys are not coming back, so BE2 will still be missing after a relock.

[Q] bootloader not allowed xperia z

my phone is showing me that it cant unlock boot loader when i see in service test bt typing *#7378432#*#*
i am from india and using normal xperia z (not any docomo or any)
can any one say what to do for getting permission for unlocking boot loader
Short answer - you can't unlock it ever.
The only exception would be if the status changed to disallowed after rooting. There is a fix for that somewhere in Doomlord's rooting thread.

Unless it was rooted, as this sometimes changes the status to 'No' as stated in the first post of Doomlord's thread. I used bin4ry's tool and the bootloader status was untouched.
Edit:
DooMLoRD said:
if u had an unlockable bootloader device, after using this method the device will be detected as LOCKED or unlock not possible!!! (to fix this use this fix)
...........
Troubleshooting:
if your device has unlockable bootloader then after applying this hack the bootloader status will turn "Bootloader unlock allowed: No"
in that case dont worry the users have reported that doing a repair via SEUS will flash back stock firmware and turn this status to "Bootloader unlock allowed: Yes" (the same might also be achieved by flashing a stock FTF using FlashTool )

Hello, everyone.
I know nothing about rooting, flashing or unlocking bootloader. What I really need is to unlock the network of my phone. It was bought in Portugal locked to the TMN network. I am now back to Brazil and want to use it here. The conventional method of unlocking network is buying a code, but I want to know if there's a way to do it with no expense. What do you guys recommend?

Hello and welcome to the forums.
The only way to network unlock this device is with a code, either from the original network provider or from an online seller. It is not possible to unlock any other way.
Additionally, as you're new here, I will suggest you should start a new thread when you have a question in future instead of bumping a very old thread unrelated to your question.

I'm thankful that there are still wanting to address this issue of the bootloader not being unlocked. So my question is as such - Is there anyway (either by contacting T-Mobile, or Sony) that my phone, which is is SIM Unlocked (I know SIM unlock has nothing to do with bootloader unlock), can be bootloader unlocked? I'm just hoping that I can either get with Sony/Tmobile and have them do it, or even if there is a legitimate paid service out there then I will do that too! Any kind of help or anything would be appreciated! All I read is, 'If you're bootloader says no than that means NO', or I will often see people say that their bootloader says no and yet they can still enter fastboot mode.
Currently my device is Sony Xperia Z C6606 Tmobile version. I'm going to try to switch out my microUSB cord and see if fastboot works then. I'm still trying to have some kind of hope that maybe it will somehow work and I can flash a custom rom. Currently, whenever I plug in my phone into any computer, (with drivers installed) it never even shows up in the Device manager so I'm thinking it's an issue with my cord. It charges the device only.
Or should I just sell this phone and get a different android phone where I can unlock the bootloader? lol
Thanks!
You can only flash stock based roms with a stock, unmodified kernel.
Fastboot will connect even with a locked bootloader, but the commands you can use are extremely limited and in your case you cannot do anything with it at all. Your USB cable is not the problem.
If you want to flash CM/PA/AOSP etc, then you'll have to buy a new device. The bootloader is non unlockable. Nobody has cracked the security yet and I don't think anyone is even working on it, to be honest.
Sony or T-Mobile will not unlock it.

Yes but my phone says "unlock allowed: no" so a normal guide won't work, however if an unlock key was provided I'm guessing it was unlockable from the factory then they disabled fastboot for three. So to even use the unlock key I need to change it back somehow, maybe I will try this

Fastboot issues,bootloader (un)locked?

So I've unlocked the bootloader on my xperia Z the official way. Entered the unlock key and it was successful.
However, if I try to write a recovery in fastboot I get the error : Remote: not allowed.
I have made sure I have the correct drivers and all but it still doesn't work. Even tried unlocking it again with a second unlock key.

Unlock bootloader without losing DRM keys
Hey guys
I have a similar problem. I want to flash DoomLord's custom kernel but the command is not allowed. I found out bootloader unlock allowed does not mean it is unlocked yet, so that is the problem why it is not allowed. However, I do want to backup my DRM keys first. Is this possible? My phone was rooted before I flashed 4.3, so it is not rooted anymore.
Oh I have a Xperia Z 4.3 c6603 flashed with the ftf supplied by doomlord.

u welcome!
just checked the screenshot says that BL unlock allowed: status YES which define that ur BL (bootloader) is not unlocked yet!
make sure u are using the appropriate tool that works for ur device after u get the BL code from Sony, then follow the instructions in Sony where u got the information about unlocking BL
first off... do not proceed with bl unlock until you backup your TA partition cuz u might brick ur phone after the unlock is done if something goes wrong!
is it's not really recommended... u can still root it with a locked bl and enjoy ROOT privileges... FYI, unlocking bl will erase DRM keys and might affect on ur TA partition too.... so keep in mind that Bravia Engine2 along with Track ID will stop working after unlocking ur BL

Hey guys last days im started looking how unlock my c6602 and i cant find any way that work for me
I tried doomlord way and didnt worked what i did:

5-typed:FASTBOOT.EXE -I 0X0FCE OEM UNLOCK 0X************
6-i got that error :invalit id (0x**************)
I checked the number many times and it was currect SO WHY???
I tried flashtool to unlock and i got that (failed remote: command did not success)
Is sevice menu says bootloader unlock allowed: yes
Is there any solution for that??
Running:4.3 stock %100
EDIT: today tried again in command window AND NOW EVERY TIME I THY THAT SAYS failed remote: command did not success)!!!!!:crying:
I said this to you when you asked in the bootloader unlock thread, but you didn't respond or acknowledge my reply.
The unlock key is case sensitive. Meaning that any letters that are upper case (capital letters) must be entered in upper case. So E must be entered as E, not e.
If you don't enter the unlock key exactly how they sent it to you, it will not work.
If it still won't work, maybe you entered your IMEI incorrectly when requesting the unlock key. Try requesting it again and double check the IMEI when you enter it into the form, as a key generated for the incorrect IMEI also will not work.

And also when i request me key i put my full IMEI and click ok and its says YOUR IMei is incurrect (try delete the last charecter) is thats may the problem?
Anyway i bored of that unlocking story now im trying to get perooted rom
Well, you're definitely doing something wrong. Both Flashtool and fastboot work for unlocking the bootloader for everyone else.
From your screenshot in the bootloader unlock thread, you were entering the key with all lower case characters, which was probably wrong if you're now entering some upper case characters. Enter it EXACTLY how it is in the email.
Anyway, good luck flashing any rom without root. You'll need root to install a recovery.

Are you deliberately not reading what I'm telling you or something?
You'll need root to install a recovery to flash that rom. If you don't want to unlock your bootloader, you will need to downgrade to a 4.2.2 stock rom.

The DOWNGRADE that what i will do
I guess I'm having the same issue as when I was trying to unlock bootloader through flashtool I used the code from Sony website generated by my IMEI, I copied it Exactly as they have sent it and flashtools response was at first Fail and when I tried to do it second time it happened to work and said 'okay' but after turning my phone on it ended up in endless loop... I tried it on 4.3 and 4.2. The bootloader unlock allowed says yes.
Please help
