review of the juiced systems 4-in-1 connection kit - Galaxy Note II Accessories

couldn't find anyone else who already talked about this product.
I got this from amazon. Its trash. The idea is that its an otg cable and a sb card reader at the same time.
Its a good idea. Its small it works. But it's case is so cheaply built that it actually broke.
It doesn't have the signal processing to read more than one thing at a time. You can't charge through it of curse.
It's way over priced for what it actually is. And the plastic case will actually shader.
its a power hog. It will kill your battery so fast your won't believe it.
It actually showed up with s2 on it instead of not 2. It worked the same on my s2 as on my note 2.
So bottom line get a otg cable a powdered usb hub and a usb sd card reader instead. Or g3t the smart dock . But don't waste cash on one of these.

Another Review: Samsung Galaxy Tab Car Dock

check out my review. just in case you were in the market for one. i highly recommend it
Samsung announced a few accessories when they launched their Galaxy Tab. I finally had the chance to pick up the Vehicle Mount (aka Car Dock) and take it for a spin. Check out my unboxing and initial impressions of this car dock.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gl2Ktb9Skac&feature=player_embedded
Summary:
When I bought the official HTC car dock for my Nexus One I thought to myself, “this is how a car dock should be!”. When I sold it, and started using the Galaxy Tab as my primary device, I new I had to find a car dock with the same precision and quality that the dock for my Nexus One had. I was quite surprised at the exceptional build quality of this car dock. The dock contours to meet the curvature of the Galaxy Tab and it just fits perfectly. The 3.5 mm headphone jack as well as the mic, volume rockers and power buttons are all accessible when docked. The bottom of the dock has the proprietary 30 pin connector that, not only helps secure the device but, allow you to charge it too. Being able to charge the device with the included car charger is a true bonus; one less thing you have to pay for. Once docked, the Tab will automatically go into car mode (not working in the video) and gives you access to quick functions like making a call or doing a quick search. This car dock retails for $69.99 but you can find it as cheap as $45.99 from mobilecityonline.com and its worth every penny. I must say, Samsung really came through with this product and I am excited to try out the rest of the accessories for the Galaxy Tab. Okay enough reading, GO BUY IT NOW! You won’t regret it.
Nice review, thanks! Going to order one ASAP.
I ordered one from the Amazon Marketplace for about 56 w/shipping. Some guy has them listed at full retail on eBay with or best offer. So I typed in a note and a link saying I'd do it for that same price if he could match, only response with no note back was a counter offer for $67... LOL. I guess it's not worth doing business with someone who doesn't even bother to notice what you wrote to them.
I just wish that it was possible to make these in a way that would allow a proper case to be used with the Tab. I have what I think is a very protective case, but because of it, this would not work for me.
Hey, is there enough room with the connector part slid back to insert another connector?
Reason I ask is that this thing would make a nice desktop dock when it wasn't in the car if you could still use the standard USB to 20 pin connector.
I guess you could use that USB to coax cable with the regular AC charger indoors to keep it powered up, but it would be nice to have USB connectivity as well (file transfers, flashing, etc).
Croak: Will have to check but by memory there is not enough room. I will try too look at it when I get back home tognight, the dock is in gf's car.
Really like this car dock by the way !
After looking at it there is def no place to put another connector there

[Q] Car Chargers

Has anyone found a good car charger that they know works with the Focus? My dad's super-paranoid about my phone, and wants me to have a car charger. The problem, as many of you probably know, is that the Focus seems finnicky about what chargers it gets along with. Does anyone have one that they've tried that works?
I went with the Belkin Micro USB car adapter, works great, especially if you need to charge other USB devices.
This is the charger I used. It's made by Motorola but it works great with the Focus. Plus the LED light is a transparent window which looks awesome. It doesn't quite look like the photo. It's also discounted. I'll probably be ordering a couple more to keep in my other car.

IGO
I use the IGO car charger with the tip for my Samsung Focus. I also have the tip for my wifes Samsung Sync A707. I also had the tip for my FUZE when I was using that. It was nice, we could travel and just bring the additional tip and charge either phone. Works on my Focus very well.
I bought my Focus from Costco and they gave me a free no-name chinese car charger with the phone. I used it only once so far and my phone did not explode or anything, but I don't know if it was actually charging or not. The battery icon had the 'plug' graphic on it, but how can I tell if it was working properly?
I ended up getting a cheap charger off from eBay, it's kind of like the motorola listed that has the USB port. It also came with the USB cable and another house plug-in with the USB port. I travel a lot for the military so I like to have a spare cable and house charger.
i've used a Griffin which has a USB plugin...from my blackberry phone, HTC Tilt2 (winmo 6.5), HTC Aria (android), and will use it on my Focus. but with the battery, i haven't had a need for it yet lol. off the home charger with a full charge at 6:30am...drove to atlanta (well covered 3G area) to Athens (so so 3G) and all the back home down back roads through no name towns (spotty coverage). it's now 5:30 and i'm still showing half a battery gauge. that's with a few calls, plenty of texting, and a lot of web browsing.
damn i love this phone
I use one I got from Costco with my Backflip last year. I figured all micro USB would be fine.
Got a couple Rocketfish ones from Best Buy - work great
IMO, the Belkin is nice because it is low-profile. a very clean looking charging setup. Also can use whatever microusb I have handy rather than some dedicated cable.

Get the OEM charger here. I have had no issue with the MicroUSB connector, unlike my last car charger that just died. Can't beat the price either.
I bought three of these chargers...
I got three of these chargers off amazon. They are oem, but are official motorola and look really nice. They have a translucent window with the M on them that lights up when they are plugged in. They are a steal at less than five dollars. Go here-->http://www.amazon.com/Motorola-Vehicle-Adapter-micro-USB-Charger/dp/B000S5Q9CA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1304549428&sr=8-1-spell.
That's what I got too, just through Amazon for prime 2 day.

[Q] Micro SD ? DOH!!!

So I played around with these Touchpads, and I really like them. I bought one for $100 which was a good deal. But I was under the impression that they had a MicroSD slot from what my friend said.
So what I plan on doing is taking CR2 Raw files from my Canon SLR and putting them onto a MicroSd and show clients right after I took them with the Touchpad. The whole reason for me going down this road. I have tried looking through this site and really couldnt find anything.
So I found an adapter that will plug into the Microusb plug and I was wondering if there was thing better that you guys would suggest and or is this a good buy?
Juiced Systems 5 in 1 MHL Adapter
Thanks!!

The usb adapter will work if you use a usb y cable and a usb power brick. The touchpads usb port supports usb host but has no power going out

um pretty much what he said, the product you are looking at does you no good because there's not another cord stemming off of it in which you could plug into a power supply.
picture attached gives you a ****ty visualization, however i don't know where to find the product you're looking for lol
i bought a solar self powered 4 port hub and an otg cable.. that is your power source for the hptp micro port.. i paid less than 12$ for complete set up..
read this.. i used hub that has all ports inline instead of the OP's suggested hub.. Y cables are messy..

there have been major updates concerning the mount/unmount ing..

For your setup you'd need an OTG cable with a way to supply power. Something like this should work if you have a USB power source, like your charger or one of those battery powered USB chargers. Then you'll need any USB microSD reader. The card will show up under "/mnt/usbdisk".

I have to be mobile for this is there any simple way to do this?
did you read about the self powered hub i linked to ?
if you want simpler, you would have to break into the internals and mod the hardware

Case with plug extension?

Hi I am looking for a case that will plug into the microusb and provide an alternate port. The port being the weakness on every mobile device by plugging/unplugging all the time. Ive lost more than 1 phone this way. i just want to preserve the life of my Nexus. I dont mind if it increases the length overall. Has anyone heard of such a thing?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
Here is how I solved it, I have:
1. Asus Nexus 7 Dock
2. Sena Ultraslim pouch
So if I need to charge, it easy to remove the tablet from it, as for transferring files, I use wifi or Google Drive, simple as that.
Maybe I'm lucky, I've never broken a charging socket on a phone....but...the idea of a socket extension on a case is a great one. I've had to 'mod' a few charger plugs to get them to fit into the space left by case manufacturers around the socket.

do you mean something like the battery pack cases for phones cause I have never seen one for any tablet. You could get an otg cable and mod a case to hold it in place to do what you want I believe.

Yeah I've thought about doing that but was hoping for something more professional. Also I use a $35 seido case (already broke 2 N7's so I need the heavy case), would have to buy a second one to extend it to make the mod, with a good chance of doing a bad job of it and wasting $70.

I still don't get it, according to Wikipedia, micro USB port, can handle like 10000 cycles of connect/disconnect, and will be fine..so how do you destroy them?
quote:
"The newer Micro-USB receptacles are designed for up to 10,000 cycles of insertion and removal between the receptacle and plug, compared to 1,500 for the standard USB and 5,000 for the Mini-USB receptacle. This is accomplished by adding a locking device and by moving the leaf-spring connector from the jack to the plug, so that the most-stressed part is on the cable side of the connection. This change was made so that the connector on the less expensive cable would bear the most wear instead of the more expensive micro-USB device"

My HTC Thunderbolt disagrees. Ive been having to swap the battery 3 times a day for the past year, using external chargers. For a while I could still connect to PC with a usb cable, not to charge but for file transfers, but now I can't do that either.

Smart Dock Alternative???

smart dock knockoff.....may be worth a shot because the samsung one is too dang expensive....this one also looks like it will accept cases unlike the stock one....i may have to give it a shot after payday http://www.ebay.com/itm/SMART-MULTI...ories_MobilePhoneChargers&hash=item5657f3c0a2
Since in US it will still going to cost more than $50, I will wait for some reviews before getting one. Good find for sure
the official dock does accept some cases.
I've had it working with the official flip cover, and with the official protective cover +.
I had seen this exact dock from a different seller on ebay a couple of days ago. I was about to buy it, but then I noticed that it said in the fine print that the mhl and otg connections can't be used at the same time. I'll see if I can find the link again. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I assume that the oem dock can do both simultaneously?

The note at the bottom says only one function (mhl or otg) at a time.

Very good in hdmi e 80 inch projector ... :good:
I got one from Amazon for 2t bucks. Compared it to a real one . It's got all most the same circuitry.
The chips that process the otg and charge curent signal are a lot different. But mine works it will charge while I runmy powered usb hub with my external harddrive. In the one I have you only get one otg option at a time. Like you can do one sd card or one usb thing or the hdmi out but not all at the same time so your going to need a usb hub thats got it's own power supply.
And like all Chinese knock offs you never know witch of there military owned slave labour operated plants actually built it . so there's a good chance you wind up with a better one.or one that isn't as good. Or maybe even one that doesn't work at all. They're all in the same case so its hit or miss.
My cheap knock off doc failed as off last night its no longer recognized as a doc. It shows up only the hdmi and charger.you can always charge and use hdmi out. But otg mod reverse the usb port so you can't charge.
Someone know a gadget that allows both usages? HDMI + USB at same time?

Newegg is carrying these now under the brand name "Baaqii".
It's $34 ($28 when on sale) but it also states, way down at the bottom, cannot do both OTG functions at same time.

I'm thinking That to get otg charging theres got to be a switch in the software someplace that lets you turn offotg mod and turn in back on really fast. Like pules on off on off on off constantly in the kernel. But I'm also thinking that there might not be a switch like that in our phones.
I'm thinking that the chips in a smart doc probably do that. So that leaves us not much choice. We either got to buy a doc. Find that switch or
Get a wireless charger.
I found a port of the famous faux kernel. I tried it with the 5 dollar add on app. It had no effect on otg charging a note 2.
I'm thinking the best cheap solution is one of the inductive charger sets. Or possibly putting a 555 timing circuit into a usd cable.
But a $35 1 amp wireless universal charge plat and coil would probably be the easiest way to go.
