Alternative to the missing notification led

I was wondering if a clever dev could use the botom lights from the buttons as an alternative to a dedicated led. Since the led is only usefull with the screen locked & off, the botom button lights could serve the same purpose. The buttons themselves would not be working, only the lights.
Could this idea work?

You may try to use noLED application
Good idea, but no-one has program for it yet.

That's a kernel thing. It needs a kernel with bln (back light notification) support.

But it could be done... you're not saying no way
From what i understand this is a tricky one to develop. I will have to be patient :what:

I have used noLED but deleted it because. I don't like it.
Anyhow the idea that author suggests sounds great and very logic. I saw few apps that can turn off buttons backlight. So it can enabled via app

You should check the ButtonLed thread. Its an app that is based on the Tasker app and it's made for phones that don't have led lights but have soft led buttons. But it doesn't work with our devices, because of the kernel security / limitations. I have contacted the developer of the app and he said that our device is similar to some s2 models, where the button leds can't be on while the screen is off.
So as I said before, we need new kernel with bln option.

Proximity sensor not working while dialing via Bluetooth carkit

Hello,
When starting a call in my car via Bluetooth, I cannot switch from the Bluetooth carkit to the speaker of my Xperia Z, because there is no way to wake up the phone. Whatever I do, the screen stays off and is not responding to any movement nor to the volume keys.
Has anyone noticed this behaviour as well? Is this a bug?
Sent from my C6603 using xda app-developers app
Do you have a screen protector, if so this can be the cause of the problem.
Press thanks if I have helped
Sent from my C6603 using xda app-developers app
No I don' have a screen protector, thx.
Sent from my C6603 using xda app-developers app
The problem is with the setting in developer settings, hang up with power button. When turned on, it is not possible switch from carkit to phone.

Capacitive buttons

They are annoying the hell out of me. Is it just mine or it's a bug. But pretty frequently I won't be able to use one of the two buttons when in an app. I do have a screen protector but Idk if that plays a major role in it or not.

Deactivate sensors

Hi,
I see that the sensors are draining my battery, is it possible to turn turn them off? Especially the accelerator sensor (i don't use this ) and the proximity sensor, where is this sensor for?
Thank you!

Could you please provide the name of the app so I can download it and test for myself, it doesn't look like those sensors should be using that much power, especially when in idle, do you have shake to wake and auto brightness on? Unless there's another App involved, those are the likely reasons
Edit
NM, android tuner, got it and testing now

Alright, it's definitely an app you've installed or rom/kernel set up that's causing that, try out gsam on the play store, that may come up with a way to find the app/s causing the accelerometer and light sensors to consume that amount of power. It might even show you how to manage it good luck

Thanks for the information! I'm using autobrightness and pocket detection, maybe the problem is with the pocket detection?
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
I'm using elementalx kernel
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
Here are some screenshots
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
Looks like it is the pocket detection, try wiping cache, dalvik cache and reflashing elemental x kernel again. See how that goes, if it still uses the sensors too much, try reinstalling elemental again but decrease the sensitivity of the sensors a little. Play around with it and see what happens, pretty safe hope it works for you

I don't have it either.

Is not there. I even found a version on xda but it would force close all the time before even working.
Any other z1s owners have it or can get it to work?
