I've taken the time to make this thread to hear about any complaints people may have about the Nexus 7. Keep in mind, this thread is NOT for PHYSICAL defects or imperfections. I'm talking about complaints about the performance, any lag at all, crashes or freezes, horrible battery life, performance with major 3D games, or any bugs you may find, post them here ! :good: Complain all you want about it, let's discuss it. Is the Nexus 7 what you were expecting ? Is it BETTER than you expected ? Is it good for the price ? Are other tablets better in any way ? Say it !

I had a yellow tint on the screen when I use the device for more than 30 minutes.

Thanks everyone but per the op, this thread is not for discussion of physical defects.

The fact that every store within 50 miles of me that had any in stock is sold out.

Yeah, I've heard many people who bought the Nexus 7 from retail stores had problems with the screen. I would imagine that the new unit had no problems ?

What version works with the nexus 7?

version I am using is 11.1.115.11 works fine in Dolphin

'Beats Audio' letters rubbing off back of phone.

So I've had my One for 5 days now and tonight I was just looking at the back and noticed that part of the beats audio logo has rubbed off.. It looks pretty tacky now having half letters, and I imagine it will only get worse. It is only the red letters that have been affected so far.
It really doesn't scream quality and I am a bit disappointed. I guess at some stage I will just have to remove all of the letters so that it looks uniform..
Has anybody else had this problem?

The type of ink used can often be removed with acetone. Nail polish remover.

Same thing happened to my One S. You can use sugar to gently rub off the rest.

Yes, mine is gone after a week, I cant say im disappointed!

I keep my beatsaudio off, if now I could just rub off those letters. You must have really moist hands.

I actually prefer them there, they give some colour to my black One. But will keep an eye on them in case some day they turn out to be "beatsaudi" or something...

Why? It sounds so plain and bland. Beats audio is actually at work with these speakers.

Yes. It will completely disable beats audio. Turning your speakers to a mono audio.

Actually my phone speakers, snaps crackles and pops with it switched on. I'm not sure if it's a software problem but from what I read I'm not the only one that this happens too. So I just keep it off, it sounds good enough to me no popping sounds.

I have had many individuals, mainly friends, come up to me and want to see my phone and call it "htc galaxy phone" or the new "Droid". Is anyone annoyed by this as much as I am? Ahaha The whole htc galaxy confuses me.

I work in an ER in the Chicago area, everyone at work has been blown away by my One. Even got one doc to upgrade from his iPhone to the One lol ! And there are a ton of One commercials in the Chicago market. To answer the op's question, I love being able to correct them, telling them it's so much better then the "galaxy" phone lol!

I was at Taco Bell the other day and I whipped out my phone when I was waiting for my food and the cute cashier Said "OMG is that the new iPhone!?, I still have the 4S." I was just dumbfounded -_-
I showed it to her it and she says "Oh no that's a droid!." A lot of people are clueless about phones and just refer them to Galaxys, iPhones, or Droids. Which is kind of annoying.

No offense, but I can honestly say that my friends are not that dumb. Although an amazing reaction I have been seeing is when one of my long time iOS friends switches to the HTC One and everyone is like "WHAT!?!? You have a phone that isn't made by Apple!?!?" Pretty awesome.

So many people asked me if it's the S4.

I'm sure it doesn't help matters that there's just one iPhone and a plethora of Android phones. As frustrating as a lack of awareness can be, I can certainly understand its origin.

Was in local grocery store last night checking out and my phone rang and the young cashier girl asked if that was the "new 4"? I told her no, this is the "One" and much better than the "4" lol

yeah when someone looks at my resound and say oh you got a droid and I say no I have an android. they look at me and say that's what I said a droid. then I have to explain to them that droid is a registered trademark of Lucas arts. you know star wars George Lucas? that companies lease the name to place it on certain phones to make them seem special. they still don't fully understand but I just say like han said hey trust me lol.
I guess people has been conditioned by apple having one phone design that people thinks all phones are galaxy phones due to the popularity of Sammy products over the year. I don't mind correcting them so they can have the right info. I do get a chuckle when someone calls it a droid lol

Pretty amazing to see the EVO 4G LTE on it as well. I'm glad they're steam rolling the support, as long as Sprint doesn't try and cancel it.

I'd say it's a given we'd get it or else HTC wants to upset lots of customers and digit heir own grave. The more interesting news is acknowledging the next version of android before google announced it.

Didn't see the Evo LTE on that list but if the One X is on there don't see why the Evo wouldn't be. Good to see HTC didn't abandon their flagships after just one year.

As a former 3D owner till I got my ONE I understand this. Sprint/HTC really dropped the EVO 3D hard. The 3D thing was such a miss that they just want to pretend it never happened I guess.

Yeah, I bought the 3D because Sprint hyped it like crazy, and then 4 months later it was as if the thing no longer existed. It's a shame, because it really was a good phone, at least the one I had was. Despite the superficiality of the 3D thing, the rest of the hardware was pretty solid.

Felt kinda the same with the shift. I dont even think they had any advertising for it,yet it was the only evo to have a physical keyboard. And what was the other one,oh yea the evo design. Sad i had to google that one lol

Wow, One S owners getting screwed. Considering it was released at the same time as the One X, that's a pretty raw deal. It's too bad, it's the last flagship that's normally sized (at 4.3").

Not to derail but I'm with you on the 3d. I still have mine and refuse to get rid of it because no one wants to pay what it's worth. On cl it goes for about the same as the evo 4g but if you've ever used a 3d it's twice the phone in every aspect. No one gave it the credit it deserved. That goes for the shift as well.... Even with the keyboard it was one of the best evos of it's time. And yes, I still have one of those around here too (Mom likes the keyboard).

Totally agree it was under rated. Too much focus was on the 3d features which were classified as a gimmick. It had crazy power over my og Evo

i'll tell you what,,,,,,i just gave my girlfriend my EVO 3D since i just had to have the HTC ONE...
the EVO 3D was and still is an excellent phone...i abused that thing over and over installing ROMS, bricking and all that comes along with that..
and it still works and looks brand new....i cant say for sure yet (cuz i still am tinkering with my HTC ONE) but that was the best phone i've owned hands down

I just bought an OG evo on ebay lol. I regret selling my evo When I went to early upgrade for my One they mad me trade in my 3d and I was so pissed

I knew it was just a matter of time

Gave my evo lte to my wife when I got the ONE, she gets every phone I have when I upgrade and everyone gets broke, lost, or dropped in water.
She dropped it just as she was closing the truck door, smashed in the door
And to top it off the deductible is now $150

It's a woman thing. Mostly dropped in the toilet because they can't stay off the damn thing from what I've seen. I'm surprised Sprint still offers my ex-wife insurance because her and my daughter are constantly breaking their phones. Same thing with my girlfriend. I thought maybe if I got her a new phone she would take care of it. When her line was eligible for an upgrade they had a deal on the Galaxy Nexus where it was pretty much free. So I got her that. Good thing I got insurance too lol.

Sounds like my daughter, she had my evo 3d in her back pocket, sat on and bent it. It still works tho... Kinda.

She wasn't getting my hand me downs till she used her upgrade to get a phone then broke it and didn't have insurance on it, so I used my upgrade to replace that phone, then by the time her upgrade came I used it, then gave her my phone because she lost hers, and that's pretty much how it goes now.
So instead of paying the deductible she gets my phone when she loses hers or she is tired of fighting with a phone that's not working right because of her dropping it or getting water damage.

I had the same issue with my wife with all the phones I pass on to her. I finally introduced her to an Otterbox Defender. I haven't had a problem since.

thats what im thinking, i started just getting the wife and daughter new phones and they havent broke them.................yet.

It's not about getting a used phone. I bought wifey the note 2 at full price. Broken. Paid deductible got replacement. Broken. Still had the first phone so between the two I fixed one and sent in broke parts. Wait for it..... Broke that one too.
