Help: UK Based FTF (244) - Xperia Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
I was hoping someone could help. This is driving me absolutely crazy.
I am currently running Cyanogenmod so Sony Mobile Update Server and Sony Mobile Companion completely refuse to play ball what so ever. They do not even attempt to connect out to their servers.
I really want one of the following FTF files:
Code:
O2 Pay monthly UK 1270-4993 10.3.1.A.0.244 R9B 10.3.A.0.423 R8B
United Kingdom Vodafone UK 1270-9110 10.3.1.A.0.244 R7B 10.3.A.0.423 R7B
This is just so I can update the baseband and NFC firmware
Tried googling for 2 hours and found nothing except German and Dutch FTFs.
Any help would be really appreciated....
Thanks

Just use any of the generic unbranded 244 FTF files posted in this section. All of the firmware versions have the same system files, baseband etc. no matter which region they are from.

If no one has a link to either of these I will flash my phone to stock, re-load bootloader and then run the upgrade, capture the FTF, re-unlock bootloader and then apply FTF then latest Cyanogenmod...
I will also post my FTF in General section.
But if someone has already done this it would save me a very late night

Ah ok... fair enough. Well its mainly just the BB and NFC firmware I'm after anyway.
Out of interest, what is the difference between the different regions??

Mainly just different bundled apps, I believe. All of the core system components, the kernel, baseband etc are the same for all releases of 244.

Baseband vs Region

Hey,
first of, sorry if this has already been asked (and answered..) But I tried my best searching all the sub-forums.
Anywho.
I'm not sure if I am imagining this or not, but after updating to 253 my wireless and cell reception has become worse. Albeit I have quite poor reception in the basement, but the phone looses mobile and/or wireless connection all the time (and I'm positive it didn't do that before, at least).
I have tried both the Indian version and the Swedish version, but they both have the same baseband, i.e 9x15A-ACEFWMAZQ-30110041-23. I am located in Norway, but I figured the baseband will at least be the same for both Sweden and Norway(?). I have not looked at the 'Nordic' version yet tho.
I have not checked if the baseband of 434 and 253 actually differ, but I'm thinking they do. Currently I'm running Carbonrom, so the question is, is it possible to flash just the baseband of 434 onto Carbonrom (provided they're not the same that is..) and should I try to find the Norwegian-specific ftf?
I've been doing nothing but flashing different roms these last days and I think I'm going to cough up hairballs if I have to re-install and customize the rom to my liking, yet again. So I just want to be sure before doing anything (un)risky..
regards,
me
Yes you can flash the baseband separately with flashtool.
And yes 434 has different baseband than the new update.

Well I tried flashing both a baseband from 434 UK version and 434 Swedish version, but it has not changed.. Is there anything else than flashing the baseband from flashtool I should know about?

Yes you done it correctly but you wont see the difference in "about phone".you need to change some system files to get the right info but not necessary.
All you have to do now is checking if you have better signal and connectivity or not.

[Q] Latest stock FTF UK

Hey I'm currently using RomAur 6.2 (ish) and I wanted to upgrade to 7.3 but I see I now have to go through the whole process of installing the latest stock FTF first. I'm finding it almost impossible however to find a 10.3.A.0.423 FTF for the UK region, I'm on t-mobile in the UK, would somebody be able to give me a link or would I be ok using a different region?
Suggest you use Generic NL. All good and the lightest (bloatwise) of the lot so far.
UK generic are still on 434. Just use one of the many generic 423 FTFs in the general section.
I'm personally using the generic ES (Spanish) rom.

Oh ok sweet, I thought it might have an effect on networks and that kind of thing that's all, thanks for the help.

Flashing without losing any features

Hey,
I have a UK unbranded xperia z with has been a great phone apart from the trickle way that the device handles photos and compression etc, the latest firmware for this device is supposed to fix this problem how it's still not out in the UK however seems to be everywhere else.
The of suite doesn't now show the latest version however when going to Sony's website it's listed but unavailable to download.
My question is can the phone someone be manually flashed without losing the DRM features or perhaps be forced to download the software from an alterative source.
Think the version I am looking for is 10.3.1.A.2.67 for the 6603 model.
Anyone help?
Thanks

TBH I have no idea what are you talking about, but i guess you want to flash .67 fw right?
If yes, then:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2240614
and choose some .67 fw from general section. ex.:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2455849
flashing a stock tft from a different region may lost your localization. If you do not mind any localization matter, fine, otherwise you have to wait.

Anyone got generic UK 4.3 ftf link/EE UK 4.3?

Ive tried the CE version and it was buggy, the Vodafone UK version works better but has vodafone specific apps and such so wondering if anyone has the generic UK or if its been released EE version?
Apologies if this is in the wrong forum wasn't sure if it should be posted here or in questions.

Hi there I have an ee branded sp and im still waiting for a generic or ee update myself. I tried the Vodafone firmware and didnt like the bloatware. The ce one was better but I didnt like the customisation. I did find ce to be buggy but found that repair through pcc actually optimised all the apps which flasing didnt and it was butter smooth. Didnt like having a Russian play now app or no nfc icon or having 4g reffered to as lte so reverted back to stock ee. If ur not Bothered about these little niggles reflash ce and repair from pcc. Im hoping we get a generic or ee Rom soon
Does the PCC repair redownload the whole ROM again or just fix things with what you have?
Also out of interest where did you get the stock EE 4.1.2? I cant see a link for it and would probably rather revert back.
I've got a generic UK 4.1.2 ftf, I got it from the links inside Xperia update checker. If you download and setup the update checker then click check firmwares when you are on the Xsp C5303, there are links to a few ftf's and one is UK .254 firmware.
I also find the European version to be very slow and sluggish, I'll have to try your idea of using the repair function in pc companion.
I'm still confused how Vodafone got 266 rolled out before the generic version. I hope they are still rolling out more versions, a clean uk 266 would be nice!

I beleive it redownloads the latest Rom for that region (.266 for central europe, the same one If already installed) but this time u get all the apps optimizing at first startup, which didnt happen when flashing the Rom from flashtools from which made it buttersmooth. I dont have a link for the .254 ee Rom I have one for .211 ee rom an older one but that can be upgraded to. 254 ee if u connect it to pcc. And I suggest always updating through pcc whenever possible as I find it gives the best imstall I feel. Il post up the link to the ee .211 Rom in a few mins once I find it again.

Hi. Could u possibly upload the generic UK Rom you have? I have not been able to download ir from anywhere as the file seems to have been removed from any links I find. Il be forever at your service
Yeah I'll sort out uploading them/finding the links, I'm at work at the moment, should be home in about 2 hours, hold on brothers!
Also another thread opened saying Sony Gb are rolling out today, so hopefully I'll be able to make an ftf of 266 generic UK if it's out yet

Firmware 4.3 for Xperia TL Lt30at?

Hi guys, I in Vietnam and I have a Xperia TL Lt30at, I bought it from a store in my country, now I want to upgrade firmware 4.3 for my phone. But I don't know what firmware for it, as I search, that just has firmware 4.3 for Xperia T/TX. I just wondering my phone can read my sim, can use gsm and 3G in my country, so is that unlocked? If it was unlocked, can I use it as every Xperia T (Lt30p) other and up every firmware as Lt30p?
Sorry for my bad english
Hello. I am also using Xperia TL. I can answer your questions :
1) TL can use any rom of Xperia T, not TX made for looked bootloader.
2) You can test your phone with Vietnamese mobile network. If it doesn't run, you should ask your seller to unlock network for you.

I sure that, because i have tried it. I'm using Ultimate PureXT v2.1 of DaRk-L0rD and it run properly, except general bug of xperia T
Had you used search before posting, you would have found my guide on upgrading LT30at to 4.3. LT30p and LT30a/t are the same devices. The only difference is that that a devices have LTE radios in them. Since you use only 3G network, you don't need to worry about basebands.

PureXT is based on stock. Sony no longer upgrades software for its at&t devices, so you have to use stock-based custom ROMs if you want to be up to date.

So if I just use 3G network, I can flash firmware via flashtool normally? But can you help me to know which firmware can flash from the list in above ?

So there's no way to upgrade to 4.3 except flash rom cook? I thought it could be debranded ?

Let me get this right:
- you own LT30at: Xperia TL with USA at&t branding, not Rogers from Canada, which is LT30a
- you live in Viet Nam and you don't have 4G/LTE network where you live
- you want to upgrade the firmware to 4.3 and keep all native Sony features
All you have to do is follow my guide. There is no 4.3 coming for LT30at via Sony Update Service.
"ROM cook" stuff doesn't mess up your device because it's basically the stock ROM with some APKs added/changed. I don't know why you worry about losing at&t branding - it's absolutely useless to you since you aren't in the USA.
Moreover, flashing using the flashtool, you will lose all of your apps, settings, and root access. If you are fine with that, then do go ahead and pick any TFT firmware for T or TL from the list and then flash it.

Why are you even trying to unlock the boatload? You need to root the phone not unlock the bootloader. Just follow the instructions.
