I'd like to completely remove unwanted apps such as dropbox, 7digital, and wechat from HTC One. How can I do it?
When I did it, it only uninstalled the updates but no the app.

If you're rooted, etc. you can uninstall them with a file explorer such as ES File Manager. You can also use ROM Cleaner here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2247656&highlight=rom+cleaner
If you're not rooted, I don't think you can remove them.

On a non-rooted phone, if you're lucky, you can only hide the apps from the appdrawer.
In order to completely remove unwanted apps, you will need rood access.
The easiest way to uninstall an app completely would be to use Titanium Backup. Simply removing the apk from /system/app will also result in a remove, however the data part might still be on the phone.
You need to gain root access to your phone first. Then use a file explorer, or Titanium Backup to remove any unwanted programs.
If this is your first time rooting a device, try THIS application. I usually don't recommend toolboxes, or programs that gain root for you, but I had incredible success with this one just testing it.
Just be warned, that no one here can give any guarantee that the process will work without any problems.
If you're flashing custom ROMs then the best way, IMO, is to delete anything you don't use, straight from the ROM ... That way when you install the ROM you will be free of the garbage without having to do anything else ... Like mentioned previously though you will require root access to delete system apps.

i (like you) hate these bloatwares, i install ARHD 12.2 (ROM) and before you install it it give you an option to remove them, even Google Now, Maps, Youtube, ,,etc
it also gives you Volume wake to power ON your device with Volume keys

i already use one click root to root my captivate, but could any tell me how to uninstall att apps? or install apps that are not from market?
cuz i am not able to do so.
when i went to application management, there is no uninstall button under att apps.
and when i went to install apps that are not on market place, it is still said "for securtiy your phone is set to block installation of applications not sourced in adnroid market."
You will have to root your phone and use titanium backup to remove the AT&T apps. To allow side loading apps, aka those not in the market, you will have to modify the settings.db on your phone. There are posts that cover both of these items throughout the forum, just do some searching and you should be able to find them.
Titanium backup to uninstall apps. Can be found on market. Make sure you know what you are doing before you get rid of something. Do not delete gtalk, talk, por just about anything google

Nope, root only gives you access to SuperUser, which application like Titanium Backup use the superuser privileges to modify locked in items like AT&T bloatware.
Hi, does anyone know how to permanently delete pre-installed AT&T softwares from Vivid?
I am able to root it temporarily by following the instruction here and delete the pre-installed softwares through RootExplorer and SysAppRemover. However, once it is rebooted and lost temp root, the softwares are back automatically.
You just answered your own question. Without perm root we are not able to do much of anything yet

While you cannot permanently delete the pre-installed AT&T APPs and widgets, you can permanently disable or freeze them using the temporary root.
The APPs and widgets remain disabled even through the full reboot, including a battery pull.
See my post here for the detailed instructions with which to disable common bloatware.

I tried to remove gmail and chrome beta through titanium backup and my phone didn't reboot I had to flash clean ROM again.
I'm using the Microsoft outlook app and I like Firefox over chrome.
Is there a reason it won't reboot?
Should work fine without those apps.
Wonder why mine hung at the google screen when I deleted them

not true. i deleted it, rebooted, and booted up fine. any of these apps you can delete fine. how are you deleting them? to delete system apps, i use root explorer. and i always boot up fine after.

are you still on stock? if so, your apps are probably odexed, and you would want to delete both parts of the app.
This is why I like to flash my own gapps. This way you can flash a minimal gapps. Banks basically has the play store and little else.

I was doing it through titanium back up. I did it through root explorer And it booted up just fine. What's funny is the others deleted fine through titanium back up but the google camera app made the phone not reboot.

i use banks gapps as well, and even tested them before he released them, but.. he still adds in more than i would like. and i still end up deleting system apks after a rom flash

I don't know what it is, but I dont trust using titanium for system mod stuff. I always prefer the manual root explorer method.

I agree. The only system things I restore with tibu are wallpaper, call log, and text messages.
i stopped using titanium backup when android 4.0 came out. and i stopped using titanium for backing up apps about a year before that. if its modding anything in the /system/ or in /sys/, then its done manually.

Well how do you back up your apps and bring all of the back exactly how they were on the other device. I got emulators and roms and stuff and it's easier to bring them back up using titanium back up. Is there a other app to use

I use tibu for apps, just not system apps and data except those I listed previously. I never have a problem this way. Restoring system apps/data with tibu has always caused me problems.

generally, i dirty flash everything(no data loss that way). i do make a nandroid backup in my recovery, just in case the dirty flash goes bad. but they never go bad. if you do have issues after a dirty flash, its usually app related, and clearing that apps data usually fixes things. but the times i do wipe, google is pretty good about restoring what i need

Following is a list of system apps I have removed without affecting apparent stability or performance. Disclaimer: I am not responsible for any damage you inflict upon your device, proceed at your own risk. I backed up complete copies of my system app folders, and rebooted after each uninstall in case I ran into trouble. I used the uninstall function of Rom Toolbox, and have heard of similar results using Titanuim Backup (including the inability to completely remove the Facebook entries without further intervention.)

com.facebook.appmanager
The "com.facebook" entries were a little trickier. When attempting removal they would just downgrade to the factory-installed version, then after a reboot they immediately update themselves silently in the background. I had to remove the folders that held the original versions the apps were reverting to, then remove them again. I have never seen what should be an optional social media app so stubbornly intalled as a system app! Here are the directories I found the originals in:
/system/app/com.facebook.appmanager
/system/priv-app/com.facebook.system
/system/priv-app/lookout
After deleting these folders using a root file explorer (ES File Explorer) I was able to run root uninstalls with Rom Toolbox. I didn't remove anything connected to LG's services, Google's services, or the stock launcher. Only the apps that should have been optional to install in the first place. I hope this helps get some other users started making use of our new root access!

I'm really interested in that list.... My phone didn't have, half the apps they mentioned. Sprint Ls991. A screen shot...if possible... so you don't have to type all the apps.
I didn't document which apps I deleted. If you send me a list of apps you are wondering if they are safe to remove I will let you know if I deleted it.
I tried to use easy uninstaller and offers not much help.
Please kindly shed me some lights.

Go to settings->apps and click on the app you wish to remove and then disable/uninstall. Note some system apps cannot be disabled.
If you have root access you can disable and/or uninstall any app through a third party tool like titanium backup.

Hi, I tried to remove the Bloatware app Facebook. But Titanium Backup PRO is not able to remove it. I get an error message that the APK file cannot be found.
Anyone already experience how to remove the bloatware and what bloatware apps are save to remove, like HiSense, Google Books, Google Drive, etc.

Do you have any concrete tipps/hints which uninstallers to be used? It looks like EMUI from Huawei is something special here. I am used to Google Nexus before and CM. And there it was much easier...

jeah. You are right, root uninstallers are not remuving thease apps fully in huawei emui. sorry about the false info.
