[Q] Pulse notification light not working? - Xperia Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
a few firmware versions back sony added the pulse notification light option to the display options, I have it checked but my notification light is still just blinking, not pulsating, shouldn't it behave like the one on nexus devices, slowly increasing the light to the peak and then slowly dimming it? Is this normal or should it really be pulsating like the one on nexus devices? Thanks

It will be the same as how sony did it

Capacitive buttons pulse randomly

My capacitive buttons pulse at (seemingly) random times when I'm using the phone. Does anybody else have this occurrence?
By pulse do you mean light up? If so, I think they turn off and on depending on the ambient light...assuming you have your backlight brightness on Auto.

Weird red light?

I'm on ICS leak. 213 and when I accidentally run voice control a weird little dim red light turns on... its to the right of the speaker. Anyone know anything about it or have it too?

it's for the proximity sensor. It's an infrared light, designed to reflect off your face when it's near the phone.

its used during phone calls, and when the "pocket detection" setting is turned on in gingerbread (not sure if its still there in ics or not)

[Q] Are there any led notification?

I know we dont have a led notification. but i saw a red led while my phone is charging and someone was calling me. and when i look my phone on the sunlight(not straight, with a little inclination) i see a black bar( darker than phone's top) left of the htc logo.
so, we have NOT a led notif officially. can we make it glow?

i think its a light sensor, if you ring someone and they answer, put your thumb over that bit and the screen goes blac, move your thumb away and it lights up again so i dont think it can be done
thats the proximity sensor;we have no notification led from what i can tell(i dont really need one though but it would have been nice)

but i saw it was glowing red i swear and that was maybe a bug cos the screen was in battery screen when i got call
it does glow red when you get/make a call but i dont know the technical details, all i know is that its a proximity sensor that activates when calls are involved or with apps(changing music with it etc)
It's a proximity sensor, it cannot be controlled. It lights whenever out needs to

you can control the sensor via apps

But it is not bright enough to be used as notification LED
You really wouldn't be able to configure the light. It's part of a sensor, ffs

you CANNOT use the sensor as a notification led.
i was saying you can control the sensor with apps like wave control etc. not only when you get calls.
with wave control you can change tracks, pause the music player etc by using the sensor to detect hand movement.

By switching the sensor on and off we can make the led blink but as i said the led is not bright enough and will not be visible in most of the cases, it will also lead to battery wastage

Notification light brightness

Hello,
I'm new to Huawei and one thing I noticed about my P10 is the very faint notification light. From a little distance it is very hard to notice.
I've tried installing Lights Manager, but changing the brightness there doesn't seem to do anything.
Does anyone have a way of increasing the brightness of the notification light on the P10?
Thx
I just got the phone and Yes my notification LED is SO DIM AND USELESS. I tried to use light manager and seems like the brightness is already the highest. Will pop by the shop in the weekend to see if it's my set problem or all sets are like that.

Mine is faint too. Or at least I find it that way coming from Sony Xperia phones where the notification LED was very bright and you can see it even on sunlight... Sony also used different colors for different notifications - here is green only unfortunately... Hope Huawei fix this in some future updates....

Hi all,
actually it has colors too. On Whatsapp, if you choose white or blue the notification light will change to that color. Problem is that there is no way to configure light colors for the rest of notifications, unless you install some notification light management app which I had once in a previous phone.
About the intensity, yes, it's a bit faint. But, personally I prefer it against Samsungs that I owned previously in which notification lights were so bright that at nights it illuminated my room when sleeping (and if it blinked, even worse!).

useless tiny notification on LED. This is factory dumb design.
I actually like the brightness. Coming from a N5 where the LED was brightening up the whole room when someone sent you a message at night, the p10s subtle notification is much better.
