[Q] How to allow unlock the bootloader - Xperia Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
A simple question: if I have the Bootloader locked, and my smartphone (going to the service test page via *#*#7378423#*#*) says me that rooting status about bootloader unlock allowed is NO, it's due to my smartphone is locked by my carrier? (I have followed this instructions: unlockbootloader "." sonymobile "." com)
Flashing the ROM is enough to have it unlocked?
Thanks,
Marc

If it's carrier locked then there's no unlocking it.

Depending on where you purchased it, consumer protection law may trump that.

What does LB/UB mean?

Hi, I keep seeing people mentioning LB or UB in reference to phone models and roms, what does either of those mean? Thanks

Type on Keyboard *#*#7378423#*#* and there will be Bootloader Unlock Allowed: YES or NO. If is Yes then you can Unlock it, if is NO you cannot Unlock it, never.

A new phone is always locked. You have to unlock it by yourself.

Yep, your are right, he just have to check if can be unlocked.
Ok
The question is
What happened if i choose the rong option
I mean i have unlock bootloader device and i choose lb when i inistall the rom
Nothing when you have a unlocked bootloader you are free in terms of flashing.
But when your on a locked bootloader and flash a Rom that requires a UB you will may get a bootloop, because the most UB have inside a custom kernel which will not get flashed or in the worst case you will just have a bootloop

If it says bootloader unlock allowed: no, then fastboot is missing from your phone which is necessary to unlock the bootloader. So yes, you cannot do that if that's the case.

Yes it says bootloader unlock allowed: no, then there is not way to change the status of bootloader for yes.[emoji22]

Fastboot is always there... Even on carrier locked devices you can even flash a custom kernel if you want but it just won't boot you can also install a ROM for locked bootloader

Seriously?? Then might be we can find a solution somehow using custom kernels? But I have tried for hours I could never get into FASTBOOT mode. It went into FLASHTOOL(green light) mode but never into FASTBOOT mode. I inferred, FASTBOOT is missing from the device. I think it is missing.

Yes, but I looked past the obvious incorrect grammar and undertood what he meant.
unlockable does mean that it is able to be unlocked
However, the user menat "un" is can not be unlocked.
The best bet is goto to
*#*#7378423#*#*
then goto service info / configuration
If the last line says
Bootloader unlock allowed: NO then it CAN NOT BE UNLOCKED
or
Bootloader unlock allwed: YES then IT CAN BE UNLOCKED
or
Bootloader unlocked: YES Then it has already been unlocked
I hope this clears it up

that's why I said so.

That's true, but since I have a contract phone from Vodafone (UK) and they do allow it, just saying so makes no difference.

Destroy your motherboard and get it replaced or replace it yourself.
Of course you'll loose your data.
Is it still not possible?
I hesitate to unlock the bootloader (irreversible), but I want to escape from google
