Okay guys, I DESPERATELY need your help here.
I was flashing a rom through ODIN, when ODIN became unresponsive and closed on me.
Now, the handset is completely unresponsive.
What can I do to fix this?!
Please help, otherwise my Dad is going to kill me.
Can you get to download mode? Remove battery for a while and then try entering download mode again

Samsung Galaxy S
Battery back in.
Phone still unresponsive.
You can still force the phone into DL mode by using a JIG. Have you tried that?
JIGs can be bought on Amazon or you can just build one yourself.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=819551
BTW: What happens, if you connect it to your PC via USB?
Did you have the proper drivers installed on your pc for your galaxy s?

You can also build one if you are used to soldering. It's not that hard Anyways seems as if your problem can't be solved within a minute. If you have a local shop that sells electronic stuff, you can go and search for the parts needed to build that JIG It's nearly impossible to COMPLETELY brick your phone, so I guess this method will work!
Best Regards!

Jig should work just fine, I know from hard experience! Strange that the three-button method does not get you into dl-mode.How did you originally enter download? Through the three button method or from some reboot option? And which Android version/build were you attempting to replace?

If you manage to really brick the device, I reckon that download mode can also become broken.
JIG May Solve ur Problem Bro'
Waiting for a jig to come in the post. If not I'll just claim it on insurance and get a new one.

The jig should work mate the galaxy s series are virtually impossible to completely "brick". once u get your jig remove your battery for a minute then put it back together and use the jig to get into download mode... since ur phone is completely unresponsive it means there is no firmware or rom on your phone so u will have to start from scratch and install a 3file rom and then a cf+root. Then u will be sweet to start flashing your rom's through recovery mode much easier than dealing with odin. Hope this helps mate

If you are aware you hard bricked your device, why are you calling for help? Hard bricks can only be repaired with JTAG, not something you can do at home.
time for a new phone... if it's hard bricked then just bin it and learn from you're mistake. remember research before you do anything with you're new phone.
If your phone is under warranty, go get it fixed in samsung service centre for free( Act innocent- say you set the alarm and your phone never started or rang in the morning)
If its not, say FML and use your phone as paper weight.
another victime of ROM MANAGERS ......lol
Never use ROM manager! Many people had brick with it!
Do you still have the guarantee? Go to SSC (Samsung Service Center).
Write a story and lied there. lol.
My friend do the similar thing with his Galaxy W, and got his part replaced by SSC. for free.
Damn!
OK guys im getting it to the ssc and ill tell you the results btw no download mode

Wow, I guess the guy who sold me his GT-S6500 must have done something like this, because the exact same things are happening to this phone. It's true: before using strange programs or downloading any firmware without being sure it will suit your phone model, you have to read all the appropriate guides, as other users just recommended before. Or just ask for help to someone with more experience. :fingers-crossed:
Now it's almost 3 days I'm trying to solve the problem with this poor Mini 2. I'm afraid the seller could have used that ROM Manager, and if it wasn't enough, he also destroyed the battery.
Remember that if the phone shows a boot loop with the samsung writings but it still can go into Download Mode (but not into Recovery), the phone isn't bricked yet. It's called "soft brick" but it's still recoverable.
If not, you have to buy a device called JTAG (expensive option) or build you own small "Jig" device (cheap option), following some guides you can find on Google. That will "resurrect" your phone. Good luck

As you said, my phone should be soft-bricked because it can still go into download mode.
But I can't revive it from flashing any stock rom via odin.
So it seems hard-bricked.
should not use rom manager if still using stock rom. especially in the rom manager menu choose reboot into recovery. do not do this you will galaxy mini hard brick. This is my experience. but if you still can get downloads in flash mode can be through odin. but if you can not get into download mode . take it to the samsung service centre
This is my experience

My phone, (Samsung GT S 5570) Just died a few days ago while I was installing some software. The software was Clockwork Mod. To install this, I used an application from Google Play called -Rom Manager. After installing the app, I clicked something like flash clockwork mod, and a list was brought to me, from which I was to select my phone model, but unfortunately my wasn't among the list. So, I picked the first Model type and proceeded. The clockwork Mod was installed correctly and so I went to the next attempt and that was to Partition my SD Card. Consequently, my phone went off and I thought that it would restart on itself but....! I tried to restart it on my own but the LCD didn't even turn on. What do I do? To make it worse, the phone won't even go into recovery mode. The phone was already rooted, so no warranty. I suppose the phone is Bricked. Someone please help.
My email address, [email protected]
Thanks in advance.
Your phone is bricked and it's because you were trying to install CWM for a device that was probably not even remotely close to yours. Also wrong section I would suggest posting in this section forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1311 and seeing if they might be able to help you.

NEVER install CWM via rom manager it just isn't compatible with our device and 99.99% of people brick their phones because of it. And yes, your phone is probably bricked, hard brick. What u can do now is to try a usb jig method which is available in the guide in my sig.

You're totally out of luck on this one mate, now you have a very nice paper weight if you still have a valid warranty, just bring the brick to the service center and they'll fix it for you, but never ever mention flashing, clockwork mod or anything related it happened while updating with kies, that's it and guide for making usb jig provided by tietganFTW works, I made one for myself already and tested it on mini, so there's nothing to worry about on this one

There is only one way out......... Samsung Service Centre
Hi all,
I have a serious situation with my S I9000, I really need some help.
So I had jelly bean Cyanogenmod 10, It worked fine until one day I updated it, and then I tried to Update some apps using Google Play App but the update didn't finish and cause me lots of unworkable apps.
I rebooted my phone to recovery mode, I made a backup, and then tried to restore an old backup (before I updated Cyanogenmod) but then the phone didn't want to start, It powers up but stays at "Samsung galaxy S....." welcome screen forever.
I was not able to start in recovery mode, how ever the downloading mode worked, then I tried to flash android 2.3.6 with odin but it failed.
And now my phone won't power up and doesn't show anything, even the charging screen.
I know I really messed things up but I really need your assistant guys.
Thank you (and sorry for my weak English)
What did you flash through Odin?

It's probably a hard-brick (I had the same problem last week). There are two ways that can solve it.
First is with a USB Jig. You can buy one (are super cheap) or trying to construct one by yourself. Here are some posts of handmade USB Jigs:
- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1331782
The second way is by taking your phone to the shop.

Thank you, but I think that USB Jig doesn't work, cause the phone doesn't show anything at all : no downloading/recover mode and no battery charging screen.
I heard about JTAG.. do you have a tutorial for that ?
Thanks again.
JTAG i think is only used by professionals, so i don't think there is any guide about it

as far as i know, flashing i9000 ROM into i9003 will hardbrick ur fone

You can not restore any pre-CM backup as it has different format. I had the same situation last week and learned now how to revive my i9000
It is just a soft brick probably, if you have download mode (check 3-buttons) let me know if it works, I will help you later then.

WRONG SECTION!
To be lazy it's NOT ALLOWED on XDA forums! FIRST READ RULES and then read the posts completely ten times and finally read it again!!! ...and if you understand them, you'll try any modifications

Bro, try to follow the guide. Just pressing Vol Down+ Power+ Home button is completely different from preparing your odin, removing battery, connecting phone to computer, inserting the battery and pressing Vol Down+ Power + Home button. This method can, in the best case scenario, force open Download Mode. Give it a try! You have nothing to lose but something to gain. If this doesn't work, guide also provides details on USB Jig which is your last option. Hope I helped
