LiquidSmooth 2.9 and clockworkmod folder - Motorola Atrix HD

I am running CWM 6.0.3.2 and made a CWM backup of my Liquidsmooth ROM. When I am in recovery, I can see the backup file I made if I choose the restore option. I can also see the backup file if I choose "Install zip from SD card" and I navigate to the clockworkmod folder. The problem is, I cannot find the folder where it should be in my sdcard on any sort of file manager. I can use root explorer, root browser, etc. and I have granted all of them root access, yet I can't see the SDcard the way I can in recovery mode and I cannot find my backup folder. I do have the clockworkmod folder in my SDcard, but there is nothing in it except for the RECOVERY_VERRSION file. No "backup" folder. My SDcard in recovery contains the folders 0/ ; clockworkmod/ ; legacy/ ; and obb/ none of these are visible in any kind of file browser, including my PC. Any ideas?

When you made the backup, did you choose to backup to an external card? If you just choose backup, the default location is the internal memory.

I backed up to internal memory, and I feel like an idiot now that I found it in /mnt/shell/emulated , it doesn't backup to the SD Card that I see in the file manager....

Did you choose to backup to the external SD card in the CWM options? I save it to my external 16 GB card all the time.

[Q] Restoring from clockworkmod?

I can't seem to restore my backup back to my phone...
My backup files are inside both the internal and the external SD cards. In both cards there's a folder named clockworkmod, which has a folder named backup inside, which has a folder named with the timestamp (Apr-19-Fri.19.44 for me). In the timestamp folder there are the backup files.
But, it says that no backup files are found when I tried to recover using ROM Manager, the S3 Mini Toolkit, and from the TWRP recovery.
Am I doing something wrong?
Any suggestions are appreciated, thanks!

You are obviously using CWM to make that backup. TWRP will never restore it. Just re-flash CWM and you are good to go
I made it with the toolkit... So I'll just flash the CWM 6.x.x.x recovery to my phone and restore from my phone's recovery mode?

How to full reset/wipe SDcard/Virtual SDCard/Internal SDcard

Ok, don't know how to explain, and English is not my main...
I'm trying to use Rom Cleaner, and the rom cleaner is not loading my user.txt, because on sdcard there's no ROMCleaner folder.
In recovery mod with clockwork mod touch, installing from zip from SD card > choose zip from sdcard, it show this 5 folders 0,clockwork, ROMcleaner, legacy, obb (here is the ROMcleaner folder, but going to the 0 folder there is all my SD stuff, roms, music, pictures, etc)
My point is that before there was not showing the 0 folder or all this 5 folders on clockwork mod,
I tried deleting partition, format SD, format external SD, everything possible and still there this partition, and because of this, cant load my user.txt Rom Cleaner..
anyone can help me please..

Ok, I can answer part of your question.
In android 4.1.2 the sdcard was located in /data/media but upgrading to android 4.2.2 the sdcard contents were moved to the /data/media/0 folder so from clockwork mod your sdcard contents will now be seen in the 0 folder.
As for rom cleaner I have never used it so perhaps someone else can help with this.

[Q] Moving backups from PC to Internal Storage

I made a twrp backup and was able to drag and drop it to my PC for later use. Now the big question is...where do I move this backup to? I've simply moved it back into the backups folder located in my twrp folder in my internal storage. If I go to restore, I can see the backup folder along with another backup I named Stock. Will this work if I just restore the backup from here? It seems too simple. I have read about pushing the file using adb to internal storage and then installing it as a zip file. Problem is the backup is not a zip file. Any help will do. Thanks.

[Q] Download folder problems?

Hi everyone, im having trouble with my download folder. I downloaded cm 10.2 recently and i wanted to try it on my HTC One, so i moved the zipped folder over to the downloads folder on my HTC One via a drag and drop. When i open the downloads folder on the computer it shows only the cm 10.2 file, however when i view downloads through clockwork recovery i see all my older files but not the cm 10.2 folder so i cant flash it.
Any help would be much appreciated?
It's strange, but, however, i will advice you to copy the zip into the root of the sd card and not in another folder..
Try, or change recovery

Sounds like an issue between old (4.1.2) file structure and (4.2.2+) structure.
In 4.1.2 your "sdcard" would point to /data/media/
and in 4.2.2+ it pointing to /data/media/0/
You'll need a root enabled file explorer to be able to view /data/media/

Whats weird is that ES file explorer views the zip file just fine. I can see the ROM through the file explorer but then when i boot into recovery its still all my old files and not cm 10.2. If i re-flash the recovery img could that potentially solve the issue?

Which recovery are you using?
In ES, instead of going to /sdcard, try going back and look at /data/media, and /data/media/0
I'm sure both old and new files are on the "internal storage" just at different locations.
Can you post screenshots of /data/media and /data/media/0

WOW, lots of duplicates!!
Everything in /data/media is now just eating space, it should have been moved to /data/media/0
The only folders of importance in /data/media are
/data/media/0 (your new "internal storage" or "sdcard", whatever you wish to refer to it
/data/media/legacy (probably empty)
/data/media/obb (probably empty)
When you connect your PC, it will default to /data/media/0, whereas CWM will default to /data/media
1- I recommend you start moving everything you need from /data/media to /data/media/0 (pictures, music, etc; the stuff you care about)
2- Delete everything else (other than 0, legacy, obb, clockworkmod) from /data/media (neither your PC nor any 4.2.2+ ROM will look there)
3- create a symlink for CWM, so that you can use the folder both from PC and CWM, refer to this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1991657 (works perfectly for me)
Alternatively, you could just copy everything to you PC, including any files you still need from /data/media (but you'll have to do this either using adb or by copying it using ES to /data/media/0, so your PC can see them), and then format the sdcard from recovery.

So if i follow all these steps, i should be once again able to load ROMS from the downloads folder correct? Also thanks for all your help so far, it has been very useful and informative!

[Q] Moto X- Back up storage question

Regarding the Moto X Verizon Developer Edition, not having an actual removable SD card, when making a backup, (or Nandroid after I root), is that backup file safe from a wipe? Or do I just save the backup to my PC to put back after? Is it possible to partition the drive to protect an area from wiping, as if it was a removable SD card?
Thanks in advance!
As long as you don't wipe the internal sdcard in recovery you'll be fine. You also can keep a copy of the backup on your pc. For TWRP the backups are stored in a TWRP folder on the internal sd. There's no reason to wipe this partition when going between roms.

So, forgive me if I am stupid here, but when I observe the file structure in Root Explorer, I see in the root directory a folder called "sdcard" and a folder called "storage". The folder called "sdcard" looks like the "sdcard" folder which was on my GNEX (but it was an actual sdcard), and the folder called "storage" has a folder called "sdcard0" and "sdcard1", with the "sdcard0" folder looking like the other "sdcard" folder and the "sdcard1" folder is empty. So, is the "sdcard" folder in the root directory partitioned? if not, how is it protected from wiping?
Again, sorry if this is a stupid question...

SDCARD is not a partition on the Moto X, it is within the /DATA partition.
In TWRP, when wiping /DATA, it will show on the screen "wiping DATA without wiping Internal Storage" (or words to that effect.) If you want to wipe the SDCARD, you would select Internal Storage on the advanced wipe menu. I think the answer to your question is that if you were to just wipe /DATA from a terminal, you could probably lose your SDCARD data; however, the properly written recoveries handle this properly and won't wipe SDCARD unless you specifically ask it to.
