[Q] revone error code 1 when trying to s-off - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi, I am trying to s-off my htc one according to these instructions http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2365506
When it comes to entering the command "./revone -P" I receive error code 1 (note: not -1).
Rebooting and going through the steps does not help. I've searched everywhere and cannot find a resolution in regards to this error code. Any help would be super appreciated. Thanks

Are you rooted & running the commands in 'su' mode?

I'm running into the same problem. Nothing I've seen seems to help. Rooted, and on hboot version 1.44 as well.

Try, try, and try some more. Its a developers preview of an exploit. It doesn't work every time and sometimes take multiple attempts. Just keep trying.
AT&T HTC One
Baadnewz's InsertCoin 3.0-14
Flar2's Bulletproof 4.3

Nothing I've tried is working for me. In my searching though I did find that T-Mobile phones are suspected to have had an update that patches the exploit. It doesn't bump the hboot number, but seems to prevent the current version of revone from working. Apparently it was an OTA update but new phones seem to be shipping with it.
For now I'll keep trying periodically, and hope someone discovers a workaround.

That's correct. With Stock 4.3 revone -P will bring Error code = 1
just flashed back too this http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2183023 and now revone works fine.

If you're on T-Mobile, you could try the following downgrade: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=45053094&postcount=5219
Seems to have worked for quite a few.

Worked for me too, just successfully got s-off with revone. Thanks a lot! Counter to the instructions I did have to run the downgrader from fastboot not the home screen.

I had the exact same error, I think it's to do with trying revone on 4.3. I'm in the process of downloading the downgrader and will report back to see if I can get revone to run!
EDIT: The way I solved it was to avoid a 4.3 rom, so I went back and reflashed Android Revolution 13.3 and then tried the steps and it worked absolutely fine, then reflashed the latest Android Revolution 20 4.3 rom and everything was fine, hope that helps anyone else!

[Q] Velocity 4G huge Problems returning Stock or even flash Custom Rom

Hi XDAers,
i sold my Sensation XL due to many problems....and got me a Velocity 4G as i was thinking it would be much easier to get it working. If i try to get back to Stock RUU i always get error 131... Custom roms always ending up in bootloops or hanging boot screens. Here's my velocity's data:

Please help me getting it work... I tried soooo much and don't know what to do to proceed further...

Sorry... No... You need hboot version 1.85.0025 or greater to run ICS...
And by greater I mean the s-off hboot... 1.85.2525 I think
And... I think the forum you refer to has to do with the OTA... I'm too lazy to check since it isn't a link

To S-OFF my device i need a stock RUU to do the wire trick... Didn't find any further solution to to so. And i searched for hours and hours to find a matching RUU for my vodafone branded velo...still no luck at all. Only vodafone RUU for Velo i could find is:
RUU_HOLIDAY_SENSE3_5_Vodafone_DE_2.38.162.1_Radio_3.02.4740.09_34.20.701040.19_release_241518_signed
but however it won't work. Breaks up with error 131.
So is there really no chance to update Hboot to at least 1.85.0025 or greater with S-ON?
EDIT: i found an Hboot from unlimited IO, can i use this one for my velo and then flash an ICS custom?
Really Nobody an idea? Please help me, the GB Custom my velo is running right now is hideous... Chrashes and functions not working... thats really a mess... Please, any advice would be highly appreciated...

[Q] Can't fix my phone

First of all, my predicament continues from this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2725647
Previous situation: (Skip if you're not interested in what got me into this)
I originally intended to return to 100% stock and send it back to HTC to get my purple camera fixed, but after 3 days of trying, I messed up.
Since it took up so much of my time and I was frustrated, I decided to send it back regardless of warranty. I send it to my carrier after wiping everything. HTC demanded about 450USD for a 730USD phone, my carrier suggested sending it to a workshop since they'd have a much more reasonable price. The workshop demanded 150USD(about half for the software and half for the camera replacement). I didn't care whether my phone came back in stock or not, so I told them to go ahead and fix the camera ONLY. But they strongly suggested that I fix my software first, so I took it back. Now I'm stuck exactly where I left it.

Current situation:
S-ON with hboot 1.44. I can't S-OFF with revone since it only works with 4.2.2 ROMs.
I tried using revone to s-off again by installing a Guru_Reset_M7_2.24.709.1 ROM, but then I got a "revone failed (error code = -6)" during the process. Also couldn't install an RUU, always got a "ERROR[140]: BOOTLOADER VERSION ERROR".
What I need:
S-OFF and upgrade to latest hboot.
All I can do now is restore my nandroid backup(ARHD 63.0) during the day when I need my phone, and try fixing it whenever I have time.
I have tried everything I can think of, and I'm completely stuck right now. PLEASE HELP.
Please help

Just tried using revone with the rom you mentioned, I get the same "revone failed (error code = -6)" during the process.
Firewater doesn't work too(via HTC One Toolkit). When I click "Start Firewater", the pop out cmd window(which informs you the of the risks)
won't let me insert "Yes", it doesn't respond to any input.
Trying rumrunner...
What's my next step if it doesn't work?

don't use toolkits, use it via command prompt, download latest version, and follow the adb instructions: http://firewater-soff.com/

Sigh
I've got the much loved purple camera issue and I want to get it sorted under warranty. To do this, I need to not have it say "UNLOCKED" and "TAMPERED" when the salespeople check the phone; to do that, I apparently need to have the phone s-off.
With firewater I get the "whelp, that sucks.." message and with rumrunner it just tells me to download the latest version - which, obviously, I have. Hello! Thankyou for the pointer; that would almost do the job. Unfortunately, the salesdroids follow a list of steps to check the phone; it very clearly tells them to make sure the words "unlocked", "relocked" or "tampered" don't appear. Every guide I've seen so far requires me to have s-off to make this happen, however, firewater and rumrunner both fail so far.
I guess I have two questions, and only need an answer to one: can I get unlocked and tampered removed without s-off? Or is there another way to get s-off I haven't found yet that would work with my m7?
Cheers!

If you are getting the whelp message with firewater, then you wont get s-off no matter what you try, I think I tried every kernel and rom combination on this planet.
Answer to the first question, NO, you MUST have s-off to do that
Answer to the second question, you can find someone local to you like I did and have them s-off it by java card as I did, like a little local back street phone shop.

Bugger. Do we have any definitive answer as to why (which might hint at a when)? I've seen a few theories, but they all seemed like rubbish. If there's an effort underway to fix this, how do we help?

[Q] Restore to Stock ROM and Lock BL

Hi Everyone,
Okay so I have spent the last 3 hours following various guides in order to restore my ViperOne ROM HTC One M7 to a stock HTC ROM along with locking the bootloader again, everything I've tried has failed though. I'm wondering if anyone here can help me as I need to sell this phone ASAP but can't do that until I restore to stock.
Anyway, the bootloader was unlocked using the HTCDev website and I then installed the custom ROM after that. The Bootloader version appears to be 1.57, not sure if that actually matters.
I tried locking the bootloader which worked and then tried to restore using the O2 UK RUU which failed (The app just crashes at the same point every time).
So I'd really appreciate any help from you guys
Thanks in advance

Post a fastboot getvar all with the imei and serialno removed. I am guessing that the RUU you ran was for an earlier version and unless you are S-OFF you can only run RUUs that are same OS version or higher.
You will need to use this guide to return to stock.

Based on your getvar all you have a Int'l (.401) phone not an O2 UK branded phone. You will need to follow the directions of this site for stock rom 5.11.401.10 and you should be back whole. You can get the stock firmware if you need it from this site: http://xda7.androidrevolution.org/db_mirror/Firmware/index.php?dir=HTC%2FHTC_One%2F401%2F Just select the 5.11.401.10 firmware.
For S-OFF, you need to be as close to stock as you can. If you are getting "whelp not able to S-OFF" then you might look at Sunshine S-OFF, but there is a price use it.
I realised that I had the international version shortly after posting my information back to you in this thread. Okay so I'm not really interested in getting S-OFF, I only wanted it to be able to use the RUU to restore to stock. So if I just follow method 1 from the post you linked me too, will I be back to get back to stock sense? I assume that I would still see "relocked" and "tampered" in my bootloader?
Thanks for all your help so far!
That worked a charm!!! I'm back on stock FW!!! Thank you! One thing though, will the person I sell the phone too be able to get software updates in future?

If you have stock rom, stock recovery & stock firmware, he/she should be able to get OTA assuming you did not put a custom recovery or root after flashing the stock fw.

That's great news! Would the fact that I ran the stock FW recovery zip from your link mean that I no longer have TWRP on my phone or do I have to do something else to get rid of that too?

[Q] Noob Question! How to lock and set S-ON

Hi,
I want use my warranty but at the moment my HTC One M7 is unlocked and has S-OFF. It already has the stock rom and the newest OTA.
I hope you can help me with my problem although it is often asked. Unfortunately I haven't found the right instructions that i understand.
I don't know how i can change the HTC's status back to "locked" and not "relocked" in the bootloader screen. Moreover the HTC needs to be S-ON.
Thank you,
..alwazs

actually s-off is usually ok if everything else is in order
follow nkk71's superguide here >> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2541082
your being s-off will make it pretty simple
I tried this tutorial before I started the thread but it doesn't help me. I have used a naindroid Backup to get the stock rom. The instructions to lock my HTC doesn't work. I can't use shell commands or boot a recovery like cwm over fastboot

I have used the command "fastboot flash zip ruu.zip" twice and now I'm stuck on waiting for device. What should I do now? I don't want to damage the HTC.
Edit: After a reboot the PC doesn't regonize my HTC in fastboot mode.

But it should be only problem when I downgrade.
A: when you downgrade to hboot 1.44, or it get's downgraded during an ruu, fastboot commands will no longer work and you will be stuck, so you need to use Win7 or Linux (continue reading FAQ)
Edit: Oh, thanks majmoz. I didn't regonize this.

You effectively downgraded your hboot to 1.44 when you ran the RUU 1.28.401.7. You will need to use Linux or a Win 7 machine to progress further!

Theirs nothing else to be said really, this works >> http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-s/general/guide-fix-fastboot-windows-8-1-t2858337
I had been using the old Dirty method, but after a clean windows 8.1 install (new Asus Motherboard) I found the above and it worked and was easier.
