Have a look and pick whichever Froyo or Gingerbread ROM takes your fancy. For absolute rock hard stability you're probably better of sticking with the stock 1.6 firmware anyway, although I think LMCFroyo is the fastest, most stable new ROM.

Follow the rooting procedure here then pick a ROM from the dev section, if all you want is 1.6 and a non rooted phone then go to HTC website and find the firmware update

well the xda link for this rom is a phony and it seems to be the only link out there...the rom seems amazing but im not getting any feedback from the original posters.....any one maybe have another link for the cronus (cronexus) 2.00 rom for cappy????
why are you wanting to use outdated versions of 2.2?? that one was based off an old buggy 2.2 release?
well the only version on xda is 2.00 and i cant find any others?
Tried downloading sre. Dam link is broken too.... Mad

what i was talking about is you are trying to run an old, buggy, outdated version of FROYO (2.2)......i wasnt referring to cronus 2.2
seriously, you should have a look at something a little newer with better fixes implemented, as that rom you are requesting is obviously not supported any more.
Hi folks,
Can anyone link me to the latest stable version of MIUI Android for the IncS?
I have seen the MIUI.US version here, not sure if there is another thread for MIUI Android...
Thanks!

Thank you very much acme anvil... Downloading now..
a couple of questions.. am assuming you've used this (or are using) this rom..
- wud you know which flavor of miui this is? miui.us or miui android or any other?
- and is this ported for the IncS or Inc2?
- do let me know anything else you think is important...
thanks again!
Don't know a great deal about it. It is a great rom. Battery life IMO isn't the best but I only ran it for a few days. A boatload of customization options. I made a backup in recovery just in case I want to give it another go.

You need to be on Gingerbread first before you can flash your phone with an ICS ROM. The following web site gives an easy step by step tutorial plus download links to get ICS on your SGS.
http://www.theandroidsoul.com/android-4-0-4-rom-galaxy-s/
Ray.
or get 2.3.x updated from kies , than root it and then do cyan9 , its best. worked like charm. just read the instructions and follow it.
Kies says am upto date with latest software can i get gingerbread without kies?

You can update your device till 2.3.6.
Unfortunatelly I only have a german page with the explanation.
Actual firmware you find here for example: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1570488
I think in this thread the users could help you.
Yes, using the Odin. Look here:
w*w*w.theandroidsoul.com/galaxy-s-gets-android-4-0-based-aokp-rom/
For install ICS, you need first install a GB 2.3.6 rooted, look here :
w*w*w.theandroidsoul.com/xxjvu/
end enjoy.
Atencion, take very carefull in this journey. Read all with very carefull.
Sorry for my poor english.
BEWARE: You are coming from Froyo - so you have to flash an android version that includes a socalled "bootloader" (some versions don't include that, as far as I know).
Reed carefully first before flashing.
Thanks guys I did it through Odin now on 4.0 whoooooo lol

Hi Xda developers and all its users.
I have xperia X8 and i love my phone and using android 2.1 Eclair happily but for so many days i am quite unhappy because of some resons about my phone like
I cant port my apps toy sd card(Main Reason)
Multi touch disability..
So i have just rooted up my phone and install xrecovery 0.1 sucessfully
Now i am bit confused about choosing a rom formy phone..
After reading other threads about same problem some said froyo is better and else said ICS is better..
So guys plz suggest me which rom i should install in my phone which have no bugs and cant be laggy at all...
I can use my phone mostly for gaming, browsing and listening songs.
I like ICS and Jelly beans both..
Is there any custom rom among both of them which i can use....
Please suggest me...
Thank You
Well since you've just install xRecovery i assume you are using stock kernel. So i suggest you to use GingerDX v028b.
You've been joining XDA for about a year now but why did you post your question in Themes & App section. You should post your question in Q&A section. Please read the forum rules!!

What i do now....??
Install GZR!
your device is on stock kernel so put gingerbread rom/froyo ,its more stable....cause jelly bean and ics are not stable though on custom kernel.

Searching helps. Now, there is no "best rom". But since you pretty much know what you want, i suggest checkinh out the roms in the dev forums and find out which rom suits you best.

What's the ROM you're using now?
And I want a mansion like scarface had, 2 million euro, and 10 top class sport cars I'll tell you the rom if you give me those things now go to development sections and read you lazy twat! It's not a midnight request show!
Peace!
i suggest u a bed-room ? coz i personally stay in my bedroom all the time. its spacious and has everything in it.
so u want it ? XD
edit = now that better,
well u can use the cm9 or cm10 if u want smoothness and the feel of ics and jb.
if u want everything to work try cyanmobile experience..based on gb. check my sign where to find that.
u can also try mebiteks cm7 ...search in development section.
Jokes aside, if you're on stock (out of the box) rom, you need cwm . Flash it with Odin, don't even think about using rom manager , it will brick your phone. Check android version in "about phone", if its 2.3 you can flash cwm. If it's lower, upgrade your firmware. You can find all info by either googling it or looking around xda.
