Hey guys!
On my google play page for my app there aren't any apps shown below (similar apps / user also downloaded). I'm worried that my app also won't show on other app pages and searching my app will be a problem..
Strange, I can't see any, too. But you published it today, right? I'd suggest to wait 2 or 3 days and if there weren't any apps shown below then, I'd contact the Google Play team.
However, if I search for "Pyramid Mover", your app is the first one in the list.

Hey thank! I will contact Google Play, My app has been up for 2 weeks now! I will update it when I get a reply from them for anyone who faces this issue in the future

It can take up to 1 or 2 months for that, so be patient I guess that it' ok now

I know this thread is a little old but I'm here for the same reason... first time app publisher and not only does my listing not show any similar apps, the only way to find my app at all is by the exact name. The latter is hard to understand as my description is long and repeats the keywords quite a few times. There are not that many apps which fall under that keyword when I search.
So... how long before you typically start showing up in search results and as per this orginal post, how long does it typically take to also get similar apps listed? I'm guessing those two are linked in some way.

What is your app name and niche? Will this be available in IOS, aside from Android?
The one who started this thread, have you figured out how to make your app appear on other mobile OS, aside from Android?
Less than a week ago made an application and went up to Play Store. On the third or fourth day and were discharged me other similar applications.
Do not know if it helps them.

I made some minor changes to my store listing which has resulted in app showing in some searches that I wanted to be in but not all. Its quite frustrating. Still no "similar apps" shown after 1 week but perhaps that is a function of listing being changed, IDK.

Looks very beta. I get alerts when it isn't my turn, there is no way to turn down game volume, and there's a freaking ad after every turn. I'll wait until there's a paid version and the bugs are worked out.
There was no game volume control in the iphone version, either. I don't know why they don't add that.
There is a volume control look on the side of your phone... no the other side those two little up down key thingys. Press the down one... no the bottom one. Yes that one. There you have achieved volume control. Don't worry its the same setup the iphone had so your not in the stone age.

At this point I still like Wordfeud a lot better. No wasted space for a stupid title bar when viewing a board, very slow/laggy, ads everywhere, and I've come to like the random board in Wordfeud that makes the game really interesting.

+1 wordfeud is superior
for me its unfortunate because the friends and family i want to play against all have iphone and words with friends...so hopefully we see improvement.
anyone else having problems with it seeing your contacts? i had started a sep. thread before seeing this
but the issue i am seeing is that despite having tons of contacts on my phone the only contact it sees is my own gmail account when i select to add someone from contact list? any ideas?

Yes. You are right about the "key thingys," but an in-app volume control or mute would be more useful. I personally think the shuffle sounds are distracting but don't want to turn down other media that I might be playing to avoid hearing them.

issues with words
in the past couple weeks, i've had the following page pop up as soon as i open up words with friends. i have to close and reopen it 10 times to get the screen to go away and let me actually open up a game. has anyone else seen this before, and does anyone know a work around beside just closing and reopening?

Try installing it and opening wordfeud. 100% fix, you'll never see the screen again as long as you don't reinstall wordfeud.

If you are running a custom ROM it could be the host file is blocking the IP addresses of the ads that Words with Friends uses. I was having this issue and ended up going into the host file to edit out a few of the IPs that are used for WWF ads.
Here is an XDA thread to help with the IPs. You will have to do this each time you flash a ROM, but it works. Or you can save your edited host file and copy it over the new one after you flash.
To solve that URL popup, download SGS Tools, go to Fixes, and Update HOSTS File. Worked for me.
After the last update, Words With Friends has been working fine for me. Even though I am enjoying Words With Friends is it worth downloading Wordfeud?

tried to use the SGS tool for this, didn't solve the issue. I'll go in and manually edit the host files I suppose...
edit: i went back and cleared the data after the SGS tools, it works fine now...if only all my games didn't disappear. hopefully when my opponents play their moves the game will come back.

i mean if i am initiate 3 downloads from store.. it downloads them in a queue.. i:e it downloads first.. then 2nd and then 3rd..
is everyone facing this?? is it a feature of play store?? ho to overcome this..

i'm not sure but i think it's ok ) the same thing was with Android Market
i dont think google will change algorithm of downloading bcoz of changing the name
This is not problem....this method was implemented by google in android market v3.x

Uhm, what difference does it make? If you max out your bandwidth then the total time will still be the same, the only difference will be that the first apps to get downloaded will be available earlier than if all DLed simultaneously.

But i am curious as to what you believe would be the benefit from parallel downloading?
if you are downloading in parallel it would just slow down the all of your downloads, this way all of your speed is given to one at a time. I am not sure how it would affect Google's servers, but i would assume if everyone was downloading multiple apps at the same time it might lag up there infrastructure.

I'm unearthing an old thread and beating a dead horse, but as I just uninstalled play updates from and old galaxy tab and was greeted with the old market that just installed two dozen apps faster than my 3 years younger fancy double core supposed-to-be-fast-yet-sluggish-gunk, I'm compelled to give this issue a little nudge again.
Old Markets in did download in parallel. What's the benefit you ask, well, it was able download others while it was installing those that were completed. The current version doesn't donwload squat while it's installing and I find that pathetic given today's hardware.
It's generally not that beneficial to download several simultaneously, but the current implementation is even worse. Two in parallel or start the next when the current finishes, that'd be something.

I don't see the issue. It's always been like that since Google launched v4 for play store.
In my opinion it would be better if it install the first app and download the second one at the same time

I have been waiting for the official Nexus 7 update since they started rolling it out a few weeks ago. I was upset to find out that it had not made it to my device yet so I started searching and found this cool tip on how to get the update to come to your device.

- You may have to do this more than once. ( I did it three times and on the third time it asked me if I wanted to update) -
- Basically you just need to go into your "All" apps list and find "Google Services Framework." Once you click on it you want to force close it then delete the cache.
- After doing this go to the "about" then "system updates" and check for update. If it says there is no update go back to the "All" apps list and repeat.
- It may take MORE than 3 times or it may work instantly, I do not know I am just trying help others if this works for them.
UPDATE: So far the only thing it does as a side effect is stop your push notifications for an undetermined amount of time while everything refreshes.

I can confirm that after the 3rd time I got the update yes.
I'm sure I read somewhere that messing with the framework to force an update will give you problems elsewhere down the line. Don't quote me on it but what I read made me wait until I got the OTA.

I did a search for any issues and it appears all the threads that people have tried this on (normally the nexus one) they did not report any issues. Please post here if anyone notices anything weird.
This DOES work though (if something works for me then i'm sure it will work for someone else).. and I have had 0 issues since yesterday but I insist everyone try it and report your own results.

If you continue reading through the thread many report that while it does go away it will come back and thus it is still worth the update. Thank you for posting that thread though as I am sure many will still find it useful for encouragement.
How often does Google update total numbers of downloads of our apps? Mine hasn't been updating since several days ago. I get 8 positive reviews and no increase in downloads? That's bizarre.:silly:

I do confirm that google updates the statistics that appear in your game link to users every 2 to 3 days.

The updates on the google play it's usually update on about 2 days, but it will not appear on the market at new games for some time. You must go now and market your app.

I had the same problem, my game is new and it never updated the total number of downloads... I think i'll have to wait thanks!
I think that update take place every day, but with two days old data.
Also, you gone put your apps on a number of market, and some of them will probably have better result then google play store,
in the end, best way to monitor your application success is with admobs number of impressions.
In my experience first two weeks the download number updates irregularly every few days. Then it seems start to update every two days.

Statistics are updated once a day with a lag of one day. That is, on September 13 (usually at 22:00-23:00), you will see statistics for September 12.
Sometimes it happens that the statistics are not updated 1-3 days, but then comes to usual periods of update.

Apparently this is the case then. Two people cant be wrong right?! However this feature is quite annoying since everyone who publishes their first app wants a download update at least every hour.
Is there a way to go back after the fact?
and for a follow up question. I had about 6 copies of an old phone, how can i delete them.(or where are they stored?)

The copies are stored on Google servers. They don't have a way to delete them as of yet.
If you'd like to try to restore again you must factory reset and it will get you back to that phone restore again.
I wish there was because I have 30 of them now.

I didn't see a way there.
Also my new nexus 6 is not putting data there even though i say its ok. I just have all the test roms i did with my LG G3 and lollipop. How can i make sure my phone is uploading the data?
This seems like such a great feature to even share app data between like a tablet and your phone. I hope they expand this really bad.

I contacted Play support last night to RMA my Nexus 9. The girl said I had too many Google devices on my account, and asked me for a second email address to assign the ownership of the tablet to. I laughed and offered to send a few older Nexus devices back.

That's funny actually because you can't remove your devices. It sucks when you look through your list but hopefully they will let you delete old ones soon.

Its annoying because if you flash a different ROM on a device, that device now shows up twice in the Play Store settings (https://play.google.com/settings)
I have numerous Nexus 4/5/7/6/9 entries. I was once told that after two years of inactivity, the device drops off, but I have an old Acer tablet with a last used date of July 23, 2012 still sitting on my list.
