There is reports on the internet of Tango rolling out on AT&T - can anyone confirm this? I used the cab sender method so of course when I check for an update, it says my phone is on the latest version 7.10.8773. However, there is Samsung firmware bundled with the A&T firmware - does anyone know what it does? Does it fix the hanging wireless driver, does it break interop-unlock, does it fix the issue when powering on the screen sometimes?
If anyone could capture the update via wireshark and give me a link to download and install, that would be great I mean.. unless it breaks interop-unlock, in which case I don't give a **** about it.

did you try installing the firmware did the firmware relock ur phone?

you have to apply the prevent relock xap that jaxbox has on his windowsphonehacker website if you want to keep interop unlock if you apply the samsung update. Thats how im still interop unlocked, with tango and the samsung firmwae update which fixed the keyboard lag. i made a back up before i applied the samsung update just in case so i would do the same if i were you.
thanks, did the firmware update already. i have applied the prevent lock xap before doing the firmware update i kept a backup also just in case. works great and kept my interop unlocked.
One thing ive notice, before the fw update i can only play/pause/volume up, now everything are working including the next/previous track clicks controls.
Wow scratch that. My phone called home and now half my homebrew apps won't launch.. apparently reflashing is the only way to fix this? Great. Stock roms for the focus s aren't even available.. ****.

actually my focus s was relock after the tango update and deleted some of my sideloaded apps after launching them. i did apply windowbreak again then deployed the prevent relock xap and finally applied the fw update. hopefully it will remain unlock.

Lucky you - I neglected to read the info about preventing the relocking, I just figured it would happen as soon as I installed the cab. What to do, what to do..
My GF's Focus S on AT&T has been giving an update notice for a couple days. Finally plugged it into Zune and the update failed. I previously force updated to 8107 for VVM support. Hopefully someone will release the cab file to upload in the forced state, as I'm guessing many people didn the force update.

sweet! i used the zune/disconnect trick and got to 8773.
w/o it zune reported i was up to date with 7720

I have the same issue updating by zune. Then I revert to the previous firmware version to recover the interop unlock and then I deployed the prevent relock xap but then you said you applied the firmware update. How do you apply the new firmware update? ussing zune?
sorry, i think i missed something here, has anyone applied the LE2 samsung OEM update that is shipped out with Tango and noticed if you can no longer use diagnostic tool to apply updates?
my phones still not arrived yet but surely updates can be done as following, please correct me if im wrong, ive been kinda used to the HD2 for years...
unlock
backup (A) (keep copy)
cab OS update
unlock if needed
backup (B) (keep copy)
apply OEM (LE2) update
at this point you should have an unlocked device but are unable to re unlock it if needed, but do benifit from newer drivers etc.
To update to the next OS or enable unlocking you
restore the backup of that same OS version BUT without the OEM update (backup B)
apply the next CAB OS update,
unlock it,
backup again (B) (keep copy),
apply next CAB OEM update
essentially for every OS update you revert your OS to the backuped up version without the OEM update allowing you do mod it after you cab update the OS.
unless we can install our own certs and make our own OEM update minus all the crap we dont need....

I have applied the fw update manually thru cab sender (did not used zune software).

I updated with the cab from 64GUNSHIP my samsung focus S but now is always rebooting.
I can't syncronize the mobile phone to restore the backup.
Can you help me?
Edit: Finally I can't restore with Zune pushing turn on button and camera button from the mobile phone, finally I restore with the Zune application.
Hey! I used cab sender for my Focus S, updated to Tango and now in Zune there's the Samsung update :victory: updated with no problems :good: solved many fixes like the keyboard, and sound
Has anyone been able to use internet sharing after applying the fw update through cab sender? I'm not on ATT and get the generic message to call 611 to enable it...
If I roll back to tango it's fine...Definitely still interop unlocked as all my sideloaded apps still work.

I lost my interop w/o backup after doing the updates, mine doesn't let me use internet sharing anymore either. However, using WinTT (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1587332) you can enable it with default settings on any interop/rooted handset.:laugh:

I installed the French ftf from the other thread and now I get the Storefront App (That I am not able to uninstall) starting a Screen-Demonstration Video everytime the screen is turned off or locks. I can temporarily disable the Service, but it just starts up again. Would one of you be so kind to use the Sony Update Service to get his/her flash files (I know, that this will wipe the device, but maybe some of you already backed up their files and just haven't posted them yet or just want to reset their device anyway.) like this.

Just so you know, all Xperia firmwares contain the retail demo software, they always have There is only one "special" firmware this time around (from the demo units) and it can't be recovered through EMMA, PCC or Update Service yet so we can't create an FTF - and even that special firmware doesn't actually have anything different.
It's really funny to do to friends though, while they're not looking go *#*#SELLMORE#*#* and watch them freak out

I have updated my Sony Xperia Z C6603 yesterday to firmware 10.1.A.1.434. Before the update I did not have my screen locked trough a PIN code or anything else. After the update I am asked to enter my usual SIM card PIN when starting the smartphone, and additionally I have to enter another PIN, probably to unlock the screen. I never set up a PIN to lock my screen, so I cannot access my smartphone anymore in the usual way. Also the home button does not work anymore and the camera takes a lot of time to start.
Restoring factory default settings does not work, because the PIN code is also required in that case.
Does anyone have an idea what to do?

Download the SUS and run it http://www.sonymobile.com/gb/tools/update-service/. Follow the prompts and it will reflash the ROM. All data and settings will be lost though.

Hi, im trying to root the phone after a soft-brick . i fix the problem with the flashtool. I used the latest stock firmware version of sony but now the vroot is giving me problem . i dont know chinese but a display in red appear showing me something and after that the image show and X saying that the phone was not rooted. i download an app to see why is this happening and i download the vroot checker and this app said "this device does not have proper acces". before the soft brick the phone was rooted and the bootlocker unlocked but i want my camera work so i did this.
Pls help me bz i have my TA but in order to restore that i need to have my phone rooted and idk why the vroot dont want to resolve the problem.
btw i alredy have install the stock sony C6903_14.1.G.2.257 firmware i did it through flashtool but i was trying to install again the firmware to see if this was a problem for the flashtool with SUS but when i try to do it , said "this phone contains modified software that cannot be updated. Pls tell me what happen bz i dont know what to do .

I attach a picture of the image of the problem with VTOOl. i see in the phone that is requesting permision to install the "mtkcamera" and the "xinyi_vroot" i accept to install but just after that give me to full restore data and i do it too. but the phone doesnt reboot... still stuck in this
You cannot directly root the latest FW
Please refer to the several guides in the general section on how to get .257 FW and root

I read on Xperiablog,that someone ask on sony uk chat, and they told him that Nougat will come this month...But i didnt wait that long time and flash Customized Ru (before i had customized uk)...i dont believe that Nougat will come this month for customized UK...Just flash Customized RU, but after you flash Nougat and start phone and set it, then reboot your phone, it will be in russia language, then go to the settings, language and input and set preffered language and delete each others...then when will you reboot or start your phone, it will be in you language ...

No, it doesnt delete installed apps if you dont tick folders under wipe section in flashtool...But i recommend to do clean install, because you can get bootloop with dirty flash... https://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z4/development/nougat-firmware-z3-e6553-6533-t3545481 there are an instructions....But when i was flashing software, i read instructions too, but flashtool shows errors, than before you flash, first you must to do:
1. Enable usb debugging mode in phone
2.Connect your phone to pc BEFORE YOU RUN FLASHTOOL!!!!
3. when you select your firmware and image will pop up, do what pop up image say...
Its important to connect your mobile BEFORE YOU RUN FLASHTOOLl!
And one more thing, you must upgrade flashtool 0.9.23.1 to 0.9.23.2 with .jar file, but doesnt do stupid thing that i, iam tried run .jar file but it shows erros, then i get idea that i must replace downloaded .jar file with existing one in flashtool folde and it works...
And if flash starts, the green bar will go quickly to the end, but then will stop, and after few minutes it will continue to end....It was in my round, but maybe you have different pc then it can be different...
I will keep waiting...I am afraid to do it myself! :crying:

Yes, your phone will be downloading Russian customised FTF now, the same goes for your Xperia Companion. This is because your phone has changed its registration from UK files to RU files...
