[Q] Device will not boot or go to recovery!!!!!!!!! - Sprint HTC One (M7)

Hey guys have an Issue, came home from six-flags yesterday and phone was working with 19% battery so charged it and when I woke up today it would not turn on the screen unplugged it and the red led light stayed on. I kept the power pressed and restarted it that way now it wont get passed the HTC quietly brilliant screen. I'am able to get to the bootloader and fastboot screens but nothing else, can not get in recovery what it does it shows the HTC logo screen and entering recovery text on the top then screen turns off. The device is on since when i connect it to the PC it has that noise when you connect and disconnect. I tried the bootloader and then factory reset option and same thing screen turns off but phone is still on due to the noise the PC makes.
I have tried entering in to the fastboot mode and flashing all the zips in the thread for stock files and I get the same message for all zip or img files.
C:\sdk\tools>fastboot flash zip PN72IMG.zip
sending 'zip' (38220 KB)...
OKAY [ 2.741s]
writing 'zip'...
FAILED (remote: not allowed)
finished. total time: 2.794s
Can anyone tell me if they had this issue before? And what they did to fix it if they did? The phone was working perfectly last night and I did nothing to it other than charge through the same charger its been using since I got the phone.
I have a rooted device that was running Blue & Jazz ROM
bootloader shows
***UNLOCKED***
M7_WLS PVT SHIP S-OFF RH
CID-SPCS_001
HBOOT-1.44.0000
RADIO-1.00.20.0315
Is there a way to get my pictures and other documents from the phone by pushing files from the fastboot mode? This will be my last resort if I have to send my phone back to BEST BUY, I have their insurance and they dont care about the root part.
Thanks for the help in advanced.

fastboot boot your recovery and back up your data media by doing: adb shell tar -cf /sdcard/Databackup.tar /data/media/*
adb pull sdcard/Databackup.tar
There you go.

Thank you I'll give it a shot as soon as I can.

So did it work?

Sorry never got the Chance to try it since the battery died, however I did charge it all day and did not touch it untill now I turned it on and it worked. Yayyyy
Strangely is only charged till 2% so I'm charging it again I have no clue what the issue was but I guess leting it completely drain the battery and not touching it for a day worked. Now I am going to take my stuff out and try the fastboot way just to make sure it works also incase this is a temp fix. Thanks again for your help really apriciate it.

[Q] My One won't boot up, no OS?

Hi Guys
I'm in need of urgent help. I rooted my phone and unlocked the bootloader and was going to flash a couple of modded files, one was a more transparent weather widget. Anyways, I somehow ended up with my phone stuck at the "HTC, Quietly Brilliant" screen and it won't boot up. It say's there is no OS installed and I am completely at a loss on what to do because I can't for the life of me understand what RUU I need. I'm in the UK and I bought the phone sim free but none of the resources I've checked seem to be clear. Obviously I am unable to put a ROM on my SDCard as I can't access it so I have no clue how to just get my phone back to stock ... I came from an Xperia Ray where things were so simple. Why isn't there any software from HTC like there is with Sony that lets me reinstallt firmwares? I am at my wits end here with a two day old, £500 phone that I can't even turn on!
PLEASE can someone help me, I know it can be donw but I have no experience with cmd really and there doesn't seem to be any standalone tools to sort it out.
Thanks in advance.

Can you access the hboot screen on boot up and get into recovery?
If you can, try using the all in one toolkit to sideload a ROM.

Cheers for your reply ... Yes I can get into recovery and for further info I follwed a guide on how to install a stock ROM which I downloaded and follwed the re locking of the bootloader which worked but when it comes to installing the firmware.zip file it works but when it gets to the checking bootloader signature part it always fails and says remote 12 signature verify fail, I'm out of my depth here lol This is what I did:
How to flash?
(bootloader needs to be relocked)
Re-lock your bootloader (this will most probably wipe content of your device)
Copy downloaded .zip to fastboot.exe location (e.g. c:/SDK/platform-tools/fastboot.exe)
Re-name .zip file to firmware.zip
Open command prompt
Boot your device in fastboot mode (vol down + power ===> fastboot)
Connect device to the PC
In command prompt cd to fastboot.exe location
Make sure you have correct modeid and cidnum (type: fastboot getvar all)
Type: fastboot oem lock (if your device is not relocked yet)
Type: fastboot oem rebootRUU and wait for device to reboot
Type: fastboot flash zip firmware.zip and wait for process to complete
Sometimes flashing for the first time doesn't work, so flash firmware.zip again just to make sure.
Type: fastboot flash zip firmware.zip and wait for process to complete
Type: fastboot reboot
Unlock your bootloader and flash custom recovery if you are going to use custom ROM.
I followed that but when it gets to step 11 it always comes back with this error message:
sending 'zip' (955862 KB)...
OKAY [ 44.588s]
writing 'zip'...
(bootloader) signature checking...
FAILED (remote: 12 signature verify fail)
finished. total time: 161.891s
Decided to take it back to the shop and they just replaced it luckily enough so problem solved ... Thank f**k, I was getting worried and I'd certainly gone past the point of me being able to resolve the issues as even I'd lost track of what I'd done lol .. Cheers to redbull123 for even trying to help

[Q] Stuck in HBOOT/FASTBOOT Menu

Hey guys,
So randomly my phone decided to just turn off (it was just idle on the home screen) and when I booted it back up it was in the Fastboot Menu.
I've tried reboot and even factory reset but neither work they just bring the phone right back to this when I turn it on anyone got any tips for me I'm hoping there's a really simple solution I have naively overlooked.
The screen says
***LOCKED*****
***Security Warning*******
VIVO PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-2.03.0000
RADIO-3831.19.00.19_M
eMMC-boot
A few months back I used a RUU to manually update to ICS and everything went fine and I had been running it fine for a long time so I'm not sure if that impacted on this in any way at all.
Anyway since this happened I've tried the old turning it off and on, battery out for an hour, sim out/sd out etc
Also the following:
I've tried running the RUU again but I get error 170 as it gets stuck at "waiting for bootloader" after it reboots the phone at the start of the process
(Tried in all my USB ports, reinstalling drivers/HTC Sync, using original cable)
I tried flashing from my SD card, it reads the zip and asks would you like to update but after I click yes it goes for a few seconds and then says "Partition Update Failed" and prompts me to reboot. (Tried multiple sd's)
I tried to unlock the phone using the HTCDev unlock, however once I get my token and use it to get to the unlock screen on the phone I am unable to select yes my phone simply does not acknowledge the option when I press the power button it instead vibrates a few times and then inevitably I end up selecting the No option after much frustration.
I should probably mention that fastboot lists my device under devices but adb does not.
I would have tried making a goldcard but I currently cannot obtain my CID through adb nor by using readcid.exe with my laptop card reader.
So if anyone could help me out that would be much appreciated as I don't have a warranty on this or anything and HTC support were of exceedingly little help.

Yeah I had a look at that before, I hadn't unlocked my phone before with htcdev but even then when I did try I was able to get my token and run the command and everything perfectly fine and even it takes me to the "Would you like to unlock your phone?" screen on my phone but I am unable to select the yes option and complete the final step which is the frustrating part.

U will need to Downgrade your device from ICS to GB or anything else ...At times it can be Windows 8 ,8.1 issue also ...The driver are still messed up search the forum u will find working way to get driver's work ..Error(170) which means your phone is blank to flash image to boot from or Os for starters..Can u boot in bootloader (Y) then simply working your way via CMD (windows 7 if u can access). It says RELOCKED on your device(Security warning can you paste a screen snap) .
1:- Flash a recovery(if yes skip this)
2:- boot into boot bloader (install any rom via recovery)
3:- flash boot.img manually (fastboot flash boot boot.img)
If it does not work REunlock ur device via htcdev.com
If you were trying to downgrade is HBoot Version (the same issue might happen)
Take stuff's real slow (make sure u do have correct driver installed on your pc )

[Q] HTC One Bootloop - Cannot unlock bootloader

Hi All,
My phone suddenly started doing a Bootloop, please notice that I haven't messed up with any custom ROMs, flashing, etc... the only thing that I may guess that happened here is that my phone got a little wet a couple of days ago. The screen won't came up so I dry it using a hairdryer and started working normally. Two days later I got an error that Foursquare app was failing and then I got into the Bootloop that I cannot get rid of....
I'm totally new with flashing phones, rooting, unlocking, etc... but I'm a developer, so, I can learn much easily.
I was reading some forums and solutions but I could not get it work.
Here are the details:
1- The phone is a HTC One M7
2- I'm able to enter to "Recovery mode" screen
3- If i scroll down to "Recovery" or "Factory Reset" the phone try to enter to those modes but after a few seconds of black screen I got an image with a phone with a red warning icon inside. So, I cannot enter to recovery nor do a factory reset
4- If I try to use "adb" commands looks like the bootloop is avoiding me to recognize the device. I tried "adb devices" several times while the phone is rebooting and I see the phone appearing in the list in the middle of the reboot but the status is "offline", then, it changed to "unauthorized" and then it disappears. I also tried "adb wait-for-device" but does not worked and sometimes it said that there is more than one device connected (if i tried adb devices again, appear my device a lot of times but always offline).
I also tried a .bat file to wait for the device and do a shell stop to be able to "freeze" where the phone is accessible, but did not worked neither.
I guess that I don't have debugging enable on my device and that is why i cannot use the adb commands of see the phone connected. I saw that adb will work even with debugging disabled in recovery, but like i mentioned before, i cannot enter to recovery.
5- I was able to enter to "fastboot mode" and my phone connected to USB. If i use fastboot devices, my device appears and looks fine.
6- I tried to unlock the bootloader using the htcdev.com. I followed the steps and looks simple, I don't think i messed something there. I was able to get the phone token, submit, get the Unlock_code.bin, flash the code using fastboot, I got the screen to select yes/no to unlock the bootloader, and at this point everything looks great. I selected Yes, and my phone reboot and still on bootloop (as expected), but If i enter again to recovery mode, the phone is still "*** LOCKED ***". I tried the process (get toke, submit, flash bin, etc) lot of times, but with no result, phone is still appears as Locked.
7- My idea on #6 was to flash the recovery img and try to make the recovery to work, but to be able to flash the recovery i need my bootloader to be unlocked. I tried anyways to flash the recovery but as expected if failed :
C:\adt-bundle-windows-x86_64-20140321\sdk\platform-tools>fastboot flash recovery openrecovery-twrp-2.7.1.1-m7.img
target reported max download size of 1514139648 bytes
sending 'recovery' (9434 KB)...
OKAY [ 1.201s]
writing 'recovery'...
(bootloader) signature checking...
FAILED (remote: signature verify fail)
finished. total time: 2.172s
8- I saw that there is another method to unlock the bootloader but is using adb, which on #4 i explained i cannot use.
Any idea? thoughts?
Thanks in advance,
Juan.
first USB debugging is only for when you are booted into a rom, it doesn't apply to recovery or bootloader.
Red triangle with exclamation mark is normal, that's the stock recovery.
next, you wont beable to adb devices whilst its bootlooping, that's why that's not working, adb is for in a rom or in recovery, fastboot commands are for when your in the bootloader
So reboot your phone to bootloader mode, this is where you saw the list with options to factory reset and reboot and recovery etc, this is the only thing you need to use for now, and only fastboot commands will work there, once plugged into your computer it should say on the screen "fastboot USB"
post your "fastboot getvar all" without quote marks

Ohh, just removed.
About battery, I cannot turn off my phone (even if trying from fastboot "power off" option), that is why i keep it with low battery so it power off when it's empty.
Do you thing battery level will change my results? If yes, after charging my batter, what i should do?
Thanks,
J.

Hi, after trying everything that I found in the forums, google, etc, without been able to work around it, I took my phone to two places where they fix cell phones but both of them told me "it can't be fixed". So, I lost my hope and currently i'm still keeping the broken phone but already got another one
Hello,
My htc butterfly s 9060 bootlooping with locked bootloader was solved.... I unlocked my bootloader by htcdev method... Its working... U also try this again and again bcoz its only method toh unlock the bootloader..... U also search all correct steps for this method....by searching on htc butterfly s unlocked bootloader threats.. And follow all steps... Bcoz i direct use htcdev site to unlock is not working... After that i used these steps for unlock bootloader...
May be help you

I don't buy the 'can't be done' anymore after my issue for the past 24 hours. Your only way forward is to unlock the phone though. When I get back to the pc (using my now working phone!!) I'll put my notes up for you to work through.
I'm going to write this on the assumption that you followed the correct process to get your unlock token from HTC and you now have that.
BEFORE you do any of this, charge your phone. If you're having trouble powering it off, I found that having it connected via usb to my pc and then just holding the power off button or even the power off and volume down button (while it was on) did the trick. The LED should be lit red even if you don't have a visible indicator of what level the battery is at.
In the meantime:
#1 Go to your desktop on your pc. Set up a new folder and call it HTC.
#2 Into this folder extract everything within the attached zip. Don't put it into a further sub directory, just fill the HTC folder with the zip's contents. These are the ADB dll's and HTC's Fastboot programme. On top, I've included version 2.8.6.2 of TWRP.
#3 Put your Unlock_code.bin from the HTC email you received into this same folder.
-The contents of your folder should look like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
#3 When your phone has charged for at least an hour (make it two to be safe) get it onto the bootloader screen and onto the fastboot menu. You should still have the phone connected to the pc and the line should now say 'fastboot usb'
#4 Open up a cmd terminal. Assuming that you know how this is done, make sure that it is reading c:\<path>\HTC (where path is whatever it is where htc is. On mine it was c:\users\username\desktop\HTC
#5 type the following in: fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin (then wait to see what it says.. if successful then proceed to #6)
#6 type the following in: fastboot reboot -bootloader
Tell us how you get on.

[Q] Can't get past white HTC logo screen, stock rom(?) details within

EDIT FOR DETAIL: I CAN GET TO AND USE FASTBOOT, THAT SEEMS TO BE IT (Well, I could before it went into an infinite bootloop, but once the battery runs down I can probably get back in)
Hi All,
I received a HTC ONE today (Model on back: PNO7140) - got it for cheap from an op shop but sold as-is :/
When I plugged it in there was a red flashing light so I held power + vol+/- and it booted to the white HTC logo and then turned off but showed a solid red LED, so i left it to charge for a couple hours.
Now I'm having a look at it and it always turns off after the HTC logo.. I can get into the setup screen with vol- but factory reset seems to just freeze as soon as I press it (left for maybe five minutes?) - fastboot activates OK and the device shows up on my win7 pc.
I've attached a getvar all from fastboot and I'll type out the first few lines shown in fastboot on the device, let me know if you need anything else:
*** LOCKED ***
M7_UL PVT SHIP S-ON RH
HBOOT-1.56.0000
RADIO-4A.23.3263.28
etc..
Going to bootloader just reboots the phone, shows the HTC logo, then turns off and device QHUSB_DLOAD shows up without drivers in device manager (same thing that happens when device is powered down from fastboot).
I have ADB and fastboot installed on this PC, I've done rom updates in the past but got quickly lost when trying to figure my way through this one so thought I"d ask for help before messing anything up.
Thanks anyone and everyone
e: oh one other thing sometimes it will show the Battery with lightning bolt symbol too - although fastboot says battery status is good.. also it seems to take awhile to turn on, like I have to hold the power button for about 10 seconds.. don't know if that's normal? I'm not covering the light sensor.

Try the solution from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2770684
Good luck!
That seems pretty full on. I have a Linux live CD somewhere but should I not try something simpler first?
Keeping in mind fastboot seems to work?
So far I've tried running revive.sh - device not found, tried unlocking via htcdev - it shows the unlock notification request on the phone but after i push yes it reboots and bootloader still reports locked i think? tried rumrunner but it won't run from bootloader.
Heeeeelp!
tried:
chmod 755 PblClear
sudo modprobe qcserial
sudo ./PblClear
and it actually got past the HTC screen to the next HTC screen with beats logo and made a noise... sat there for a minute, then turned itself off...
progress of sorts?
E: unable to repeat that so it may have been unrelated
Is it possible to push a ROM via fastboot? Given that I'm s-on etc?
If I"m not mistaken I can't really do anything from fastboot unless the bootloader is unlocked?
I've tried the HTCdev method a bunch of times, after I click yes it just freezes for a second, reboots and is the same as before (locked).
and now it's in an infinite bootloop !
I can't stop the damn thing power cycling!
Escaped the bootloop but it goes into one whenever turned on or plugged in now :/
anyone?
No one has any ideas?

Download this and flash it with fastboot. This is signed firmware and requires a locked bootloader so that's not a problem.
As I said in the unbrick thread know one has confirmed this did or didn't work. Try it and please let me know the result.
Download the firmware and rename the file firmware.zip and put it in your fastboot folder.
Reboot the phone into the bootloader and connect fastbootusb.
In the fastboot command line type.
Code:
fastboot erase cache
Code:
fastboot oem rebootRUU
case sensitive
Your phone will reboot to a black screen with silver HTC logo. This is ruu mode we can now flash the firmware.
Code:
fastboot flash zip firmware.zip
The first flash is just a pre-update. The screen will go off and then return to ruu mode. Flash the zip again immediately.
Code:
fastboot flash zip firmware.zip
The second flash will flash the firmware, the progress bar on the screen will not reach 100% this is normal as long as the command line has finished it's output it's done.
Code:
fastboot reboot-bootloader
Once that's done (be sure to delete any old Unlock_code.bin you already have from htcdev) then go and complete the full unlock procedure to get a new Unlock_code.bin and try to unlock it again.
:fingers-crossed:
The idea is by flashing firmware your reinstalling hboot, do with new hboot and unlock code hopefully it will work but as I say I can't confirm it. Worth a try though.

[Q] Bricked Nexus 6 ?

So My nexus 6 decided not to turn on anymore after plugging into the charger last night. Pressing on the power button for hours it would only power on once and then stay stuck on this message across the screen "ap fastboot flash mode (secure)" in red. After about a minute it proceeded to the bootloader which looks like its been messed up, on the top right where you would see the options "recover", "restart", etc the word appears without any of the coloring behind it.. I've tried to boot to recovery (using TWARP) but it just restarts and goes right back to the same screen with the same message. If I attempt to shut off the phone it won't turn back on for another several hours of pressing the power button. I know it charges because I've seen the battery icon when off and it was full, I've also tried different outlets and chargers and tried those outlets and chargers on my Nexus 7 in which it works fine. I've also tried a wireless charger as well to completely rule out it being a charging issue.
I managed to get it back on again and decided to plug it into my PC. I was able to detect it with fastboot devices and then proceeded to completely restore to factory setting using the stock google images assuming the bootloader could be damaged. When I ran the command to flash the updated bootloader it failed. Then again the bootloader was on the screen in which it looked distorted

This is where I am at now. What I've noticed is that at one point I was able to boot directly into the bootloader using power and volume down and in that the bootloader seems normal. But as of now I am unable to do that.
My next step is to get the phone on again and try to manually boot into bootloader and attempt to flash again.
Any ideas or suggestions or questions?
I hope I'm not speaking out of my butt here... I do remember reading on here that you were actually able to boot the device using the boot image on the pc without actually flashing it. If I read that right, and if I remember correctly, it was fastboot boot.img instead of fastboot flash boot.img.
Hope this helps.

Sounds like something to try but my phone won't power on at all. So I can't even attempt this. I was thinking could the bootloader be damaged? would that cause the phone not to power on?
No clue.
stock or rooted..decrypted..

Whats the status of your phone before you got into this mess..Are you on stock or custom rom? Most phone doesnt go off like yours unless its an hardware issue.
as was mentioned you can try and boot recovery from RAM basically via the pc, but the device needs to be in fastboot mode first
the command would be fastboot boot recovery_image_name.img
That reboots device with the recovery loaded into RAM. I only tried it with TWRP but assume Stock would do the same....
Another thing to check maybe the fastboot executable as well, I had to update to latest SDK

The only thing I did with my phone was root it on stock and unlock the bootloader. I was on 5.0.1.

I'm going to go with it being a hardware issue because now it won't turn on at all anymore. But what I want to figure out is how did it come to that point. I'm thinking a power surge or a defect in the turbo charger. TBH I never trusted that Motorola turbo charger, something about pumping a lot of juice into my phone to charge it quicker screams potential short circuit.
But hopefully I can get the phone replaced via my warranty.. But my bootloader was unlocked so I don't know how well that would go.. But then again the phone can't turn on.
