Hi all,
I have a Xperia Z and a charging dock, the DK26. Everything works fine, except for one thing.
When I put my phone in the dock it automatically switches to landscape mode, thats fine. Because my homescreen is also switching to landscape. Only my lockscreen doesn't switch to landscape, it stays in portrait mode.
I've seen it happen a few times, when I put my phone in the dock, the lockscreen switches to landscape mode and switches back immediately.
Is there a way to fix this? Or is it just another bug from Sony?
Thanks in advance,
LTKort

I never seen my lockscreen in landscape when docked. At least no the Sony stock one.
So I guess it's a bug. I remember reading someone posted that if you reboot the device while docked, the lockscreen will be landscaped. Haven't tried.
Lock screen should be in portrait. To enable landscape lockscreen, you need to edit your build.prop file.

Do you have any more details on this fix?
Has anyone tried one of the available apps from the Play store?

I was wondering if there is any way to change the unlock screen orientation to landscape. I am using CM7 and it has sometimes shown an unlock screen in landscape mode for half of a second before switching back to landscape. I would like to get it to stay in landscape if it is possible.
Edit: Solved WidgetLocker Lockscreen in the market has an option for this...
Hey all
I typically like to use my phone in portrait mode, and only want to rotate when I'm watching videos or when I'm viewing photos.
I have used rotate switches, and whilst they work perfectly, I was wondering if there is a solution to what I want.
Is there a mod/app/rule that we can set up so that the phone enables auto rotation in the Album? even if the screen is locked to portrait?
thanks

I use adaptive rotation lock. This has the ability lock apps in different modes.

^Yeah even I prefer to keep my phone in portrait mode at all times, so I know that it's kinda annoying to toggle it on/off every time before opening the album app!
Although I couldn't find any solution for the same, there is a simple workaround. Just search for "ScreenRotate Small App" in Play Store. Using this, at least you could save yourself the hassle of navigating through the Settings every time to toggle it on/off!
you can use Tasker and create a rule to turn on auto rotate when you open the gallery (and other) apps and turn off auto rotate when you exit it

In the Tasks, you create one for turning on auto-rotate (action -> display -> display rotation -> on) and one for turning off (action -> display -> display rotation -> off). So there's 2 tasks total for this. Then in profiles, create one based on Application context, choose the applications you want and hit back, then pick the Enter task (auto-rotate on). Then long-hold the Enter task that just showed up, and choose Add Exit Task, where you'll pick the auto-rotate off task.
If you still need help (and if I have time later), I can add screenshots of the process.

the lockscreen and homescreen only rotates when you have it connected to the dock. Curently you cannot rotate the the lockscreen, homescreen and app menu screen. This is a restriction that the xperia home launcher has, you can install an alternative home launcher from the the play store if you want to have the rotate function. Development for this phone is slow at the moment because of the issues that arise when you unlock the bootloader, once Sony sorts this, im sure a dev will be able to enable the function.
Use Ultimate Rotation Control from the play store.
You can set a rule that it forces landscape while in dock. It's working perfectly for me.

thx this app good for big screen phone
Hy guys
A friend of mine got a problem with his HTC One M7. His problem is, that when he tries to pull down the navigator bar or status bar (however you will call it ) it doesn't work. All notifications are shown in the status bar, also battery, clock etc. If he tries to open the bar, to get to the notifications or the quick toggles, he can't do that, the screen just don't react!
This happened since the last update of android (I thinke he's running 4.4.3 or 4.4.4). Before everything worked perfect.
The curious thing is, when he put his phone into landscape mode, he can gain access to the notifications and everything!?! But in normal mode not, very confusing...
Someone having the same issue? Or did someone solve this problem?
I really appreciate your help. Thanks mates

Sounds like a hardware issue with the top part of the screen.

In landscape mode everything works, and it happened after a software update. The screen reacts if you go to landscape mode and touch the screen (in a game or youtube)

Just because part of the screen works doesn't mean the whole screen works. To test it out you could enable touch points in developer settings and see if it is reg the touch. Or you could do a full wipe and flash of the stock software.

The problem isn't the notification bar itself but the top of the screen in portrait mode which is needed to detect a touch to activate the notification pull down. It must be a hardware problem. A relative of mine has the same issue, however on his it sometimes wants to work sometimes it doesn't. Try the HTC diagnostic menu, open the dialer and type *#*#3424#*#*
Then use the line drawing test and try to draw a line in the upper part of his phone. You may find that where the notification bar would be no line can be drawn there... If that's the case then it most likely is a faulty digitizer.
To test it further try going to the Play Store in landscape mode and try a swipe from the left it normally shows the hidden menu from the left in the Play Store. Like my relative you may find that the menu only shows when you swipe in from portrait mode and not in landscape.

i have the same problem but i have solve it by using next launcher or u can use any other launcher. i am using it until there r some permanent solutions
I'm experiencing some strange behaviors on my Note 5 that I can't find mentions of anywhere else on the web. The bugs are minor and pretty much everything else works, but it's still quite annoying that I can't find a way to fix these issues. Do any of you know what is causing these problems?
Firstly, when I go into split screen mode I don't have that white circle that lets me adjust the sizes of the two screens. I get that circle in pop-up mode, just not in split-screen mode. Why would this be? I can't find any item in the settings menu related to split screen mode so what happened?
Secondly, I can set my phone to auto-rotate and turn the phone to landscape, but the moment I try to lock the orientation the phone turns itself back into portrait. I'm not just talking about the launcher; no matter what app is in the foreground, I can't lock the phone to landscape unless the app forces the phone into landscape in the first place. Again, I can't find any item in the settings menu related to orientation locking.
Bump?
In regards to the orientation issue, I know the quick toggle only has portrait and auto-rotate as it's two options. I don' t think it's a true rotation lock setting.
Does anyone know anything about the multitasking circle, or is that too not a feature in the first place? (I'm pretty sure I saw screenshots with the white circle present though)
