Difference in Carrier Version - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, I'm going to buy this phone on ebay and some sellers has the t-mobile or the AT&T version unlocked for any GSM Carrier but I don't know what's the difference between the one that is sold on htc.com. Hope you can help me

The website tells you the specs, the variants all support different frequencies for GSM/HSPA/LTE.

[Q] Intl version. Will it work on all US networks? + more silly questions

Hey !
I am thinking of buying HTC One when it is on sale here (India). I am not sure that HTC is gonna roll-out the LTE enabled version of the One or just the 'normal' 3G one. I am mostly moving to the US for grad studies and I was thinking whether to buy the LTE enabled version or the normal (I'll call it that) version when I do. Should I buy the phone from India itself or from US? I don't think they would ask for residential proof or something to buy a sim-free unlocked phone.
I am kinda confused about the whole LTE thing as I feel it is..well a luxury item i guess?
And the main question, if I buy the phone from here........I think it would work only on limited GSM networks, right ?
The different phone specs have been posted in this forum by me and others.
There are US carrier specific versions because US carriers use different technologies and frequencies.
Mixed support, be careful. International models will have no 4G in the US. Your best bet is grabbing an asian model (also shipping in australia) as this has the correct 3G bands for AT&T, the euro model does NOT. T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon all need their own specific models.

Okay, Thanx. Will keep that in mind before I buy. I guess going with the asian model (also ships in India) would be safe

[Q] HSDPA 900 Band for HTC One

Hello, everyone!
I was wondering if there's a version of the HTC One which works on a 3G network using the 900 band.
According to this, the only versions that work on a 900 band are the European and Asian versions, but I can't find them anywhere on Amazon or Ebay. Where can I get these? (hopefully from a trustworthy source)
Also, and this is just an extra, not a necessity, is there a version that accepts microSD cards for extra storage?
I'm guessing you only looked on Amazon and eBay US? Have you even tried Amazon UK, DE etc? Cos I just added one to my cart from Amazon UK, yes they ship internationally.
you want he M7U variant. that lacks LTE support but does 900mhz HSPA.
Here's one on german ebay: http://www.ebay.de/itm/HTC-One-32-G...51174162327?pt=DE_Handy_s&hash=item2332aea797
Any USA based sites are likely to be selling the M7UL which does LTE but only has 850/1900/2100 HSPA support.
That wiki page doesn't look right. Here's a better reference:

HTC One variants [U/UL/WL]
The European and Asian phones are UL and will have LTE support.
Thanks for the info.
I would also like LTE support, so thank you deevan for clearing that up as well. That thread's info could be added to the wiki.
I can't post links, but I take it the first HTC One I see when I search for it in Amazon UK should do the trick, then, yes?
Thanks again! I'd give you all cookies if I could. :victory:
Bear in mind that there's even more LTE bands than 3G bands. You might want to check the 4G frequencies of your carrier to confirm support.
I think Amazon UK lists the phone as HTC One UK sim free, meaning its for the UK and it's outright not on contract.

[Q] Non Contract 399$ Moto X will work outside US (GSM)

Hi
I have ordered Moto x through my friend in US and i am planning to use in India with GSM network
I have confirmed with Motorola help desk and they confirmed saying it will work with International GSM providers.
Is anyone using it now, buying non contract 399$ phone and using it in India or outside US?
Me along with many other forumers that post around here. Using mines all good in The Bahamas. You will be fine.

It's all about the frequencies that your country/carrier use.
Isn't it a little late to ask this question now when you already have bought the phone?
There are many different Moto X models. Not all can be used internationally. In addition you might need to buy SIM unlock code
Thanks a lot for your replies
I have purchased the unlocked one only
Anyone using in India?
Get the T-Mobile version, it supports the most frequencies, and it's carrier unlocked. That's your best bet.
If you want to make sure, here are the MotoX variants, you can compare the bands they use to your carriers used bands.

Actually the AT&T version supports the most LTE Bands. Though it's downfall is its carrier locked and comes with AT&T bloat and branding on the back. But unlock codes can be purchased for it though.

What carriers are supported on the 4G version?

So do all of the carriers have a version of this tablet that will work.
I'm also interested in knowing if I buy a Sprint LTE model directly from them, and then decide to drop Sprint, can I move it over to AT&T? Or do these have distinct GSM and CDMA chipsets?

In a nutshell.......
Get the International Unbranded LTE version, if you 'lock' yourself into one of the CDMA versions you can't move later.
Bands and frequencies covered by International Version (non CDMA) here.

There were some Black Friday deals on slickdeals but don't know if they're still available.

Thanks for your reply. I looked at the ones that are on Amazon and they seemed to all be NON-USA.
So are you saying that these will work in the USA:

What model for Canada

Hey guys,
LG did not issue a Canadian V40, but I'm considering giving the V40 a try (my V30 died) but I find LG and all their carrier models so confusing especially when it comes to unlocking and cross flashing etc. I guess I'd like to know what models you might recommend to use in Canada?
US models are also typically cheaper VS global unlocked, so is it easy to unlock AT&T, T-mobile, Verizon, etc models for other services also maybe bootloader unlockable?
I think I'm looking at these bands for coverage:
GSM: 850/1900 GSM
3G: Bands; 2,4,5 (1900/1700/2100/850) UMTS
4G: Bands; 2,4,5,7,12,13,17,29,66 (1900/1700/2100/850/2600/700/1700/21000) LTE
Anyway thanks for the help.
